It does look out of place though it shouldn't be nearly as busy as the rest of the primary affected areas, personally.

Not really support.
If people want a striped pattern that go on the fur...they can get pinstripe.
Like, I am fond of the fact that one goes over the fur, and one does not, even though I do not own a Tundra.
Mmmm, diversity

I sort of have to agree with this.
If this were a mistake, then by all means fix it, but if it was an intended stylistic choice, then don't 'fix' it. It is nice to have ranges of genes that can accommodate everyone.
Not everyone is going to like the stylistic choices made for one gene, and to me, that is fine. I would LOVE filigree if it didn't go over the head like it does, I would LOVE runes if it didn't have the foot and leg part. However, others might love those genes specifically because of those areas.
Again, if this is a mistake on the part of the artists, then fixing it now would be best. But, if not, and from the example put earlier, 'fur' on other dragons (though of course other dragons aren't as furry as tundras) didn't get any of the gene put on them. Coatls, on their chest, it looks more like feathers than fur to me, so they don't really count in my book.
For the future, I would like more genes like this as I like how the tundras look, though I would like perhaps a smidge of patterning and/or coloration on the fur in the future, to show it wasn't a mistake.
(also, how about fur only genes? They only affect the fur parts of the dragons.... For dragons that don't have fur, maybe they could affect only the horns/spines/whatever they have in place of fur...)
Edit:
Looking through the announcement thread, and I have to say, I love how this looks on tundras. I would have liked tundras to have maybe a bit of tint or gradient like on the fins of other dragons on their floof, but overall, I like it.
When I first saw the announcement, I looked, looked as the examples, and backed out because the gene combo is WAY to busy for me. I didn't even bother going to the scrying workshop to check how it looks, because I already knew I wouldn't like it. However, tundras make the busyness manageable to me, and I am going to go scry the tundras I have to see if it looks good on them.

No support. I like how it breaks up the busyness and it doesn't seem like an error to me, especially since Coatl chests are also not affected.
Full support, I love these genes but I really can't use them on Tundras. Why bothering paying for a full gene if it's actually like a half of it, the other half being Basic? If other genes can work with the fluff, so can Lionfish.
No support! Not only is it nice variety, but it's amazing for showing off terts.
'Don't like it' isn't a good reason for changing a gene imo.

i'm conflicted because it adds some variety, but it's also inconsistent with the other genes
support, i'd rather have the consistency and vibrant colours on the fur

No support. I love that this gene expresses differently and gives a different look than the other stripe patterns. Some people not liking how it looks does not a mistake or flawed gene make.
The only thing I'd like to see in relation to this is add some tertiary genes that focus on areas of dragons frequently left "blank" by other genes. And more localized tertiary genes rather than all the busy ones we get now that add markings everywhere.
I think it looks fine, unique, and has a lot of potential.
Stuff like this would be perfect for tertiary genes if most of them didn't just barf a mess of markings everywhere on the dragon's body with zero consideration for how it will look over any of the markings on primary/secondary genes. Even now it works alright with some of them in a way that made me wish I actually liked tundra's artwork.

THIS!
One of my biggest complaints about tertiaries is that they often DO affect too much. Runes, to me, would have been perfect if it didn't affect the feet, Filigree was gorgeous except for the head portion.
Having terts affect different parts of the body, instead of the entire body or only the underbelly, would be perfect as then there would be more diversity in the genes, and genes like lionfish could be given a tert that affects the 'unaffected' parts so it doesn't look so basic.

Support. Honestly I love that tundras with other genes (uwu starmap) have the patterns on their fur. Noxtide doesn't bother me because it has nothing to do with fure, really - it's the wing! - but Lionfish... It kinda throws the fur patterns to the wind. Although there is difference between patterns on Tundras, but not in a way that it's totally different. The artists either lighten the color on the not-furred part of the tundra or darken the color on the fur area.
I just think it looks a little bland. It's not much of a problem for me because I'm not looking at Lionfish and begging the heavens for someone to send it to me free because I'm broke. And if I did get it, I wouldn't put it on a Tundra anywho.
Noxtide is also sort of bland. It's not too busy but it's really kind of...not busy enough. Just a note.
