The staff is usually silent on suggestions, so I don't recall them ever commenting on any of the alternative eye/mutations threads.
But if they did read them, they would have had a feel that a large number of the playerbase did not want uncontrollable RNG introduced into breeding.

If writers are supposed to "show not tell," why are we called "storytellers" and not "storyshow-ers"?
Still waiting on a update from staff about this. It's obvious people are not happy with the way it's been handled. It feels really annoying to try and scatter a beloved dragon...to get the same eye type as before. And vials are now at 300g.

With NotN coming up, people are probably going to want to try for new eyes on their favorite Noc egg hatches, too... The “vision” for this is really not working as intended, and it’s just becoming a bigger and bigger mess as the Scattersights dwindle in number— especially with the horrible RNG on the vials.
I’m glad to see people still complaining about the Scattersights, breeding-only eyes, and the default eye changes. I hope staff realizes that this issue isn’t going to just blow over like apparel update complaints and the CWE fiasco (which people are also still upset about, but there’s nothing that can be done about it now).
The eyes can (and should, IMO) change, however. The system is perfectly set up to integrate specific eye vials, including the Natural types and Legacy eyes. The art for all Natural eyes and Legacy eyes still exists in the system; we just... need vials to access them. I’d wager that the majority of the userbase would be infinitely happier if we could 1) actually use the cool new eyes that were added on our favorite dragons and new breeding projects, and 2) restore our old favorites that got messed up by the Common change (and even make new Legacy-eyed projects).

That's exactly how I feel. If I (or anyone) could figure out a way to get old seafoam along side the new seafoam, it would totally get my support. The best I can think of is a gene called "Pastel" where all the colors are soft/muted versions of themselves. That would allow for the old pale seafoam (and rose and the rest) to exist. The problem is, genes aren't so much colors as they are patterns. What pattern would "Pastel" put on a dragon? And what about the players who want a soft seafoam with a seraph pattern, or a clown pattern, or a stripes pattern, or a circuit pattern etc? "Pastel" would never be able to cover all the design needs.
However, as said above, legacy eyes CAN coexist with the new eyes. Cycling scattervials CAN fit with on-site events. Individuals eye vials CAN be worked into already existing site mechanics--and all of these solutions would require absolute minimum effort.
(I also feel old armor could coexist along side the new armor, but that's another discussion.)

I feel like the main implementations (primal as a drop during fests, multi as a brewable, and facet as a swap) would be excellent, though at the very minimum I would also accept getting a pack of scattersights from joxar for a token. (maybe 3 scattersights per token? Since the tokens are pretty limited. I would even be down for a chance version of this where its a "bundle" and you get a chance at 1-4 scattersights per token. Though I feel that would be a little more complicated then necessary.)

I'm honestly not super convinced it was something they wanted to do since day one, I recall seeing a suggestion which pretty much suggested alternate eyes for dragons.
it could just be a coincidence but even then it seems a bit iffy but that's just me i guess

If they had wanted to do it since day 1, why not include that data in the Kickstarter? I'm sure there are people who now regret backing a heavily RNG-based game. Similarly, I'm sure there are people who like gambling who would have loved to back it. FR could have been attracting its intended audience for the past 5 years, instead of attracting people who like controllable breeding sims and then screwing them over.

It takes
Twelve Years for one Imperial pair to produce a Primal-eyed offspring of a specific sex. Goal-based breeding is dead.

I fully support! There’s a finite amount of scattersights and being unable to customize my kids like promised is a bit upsetting. Even with the scattersight vials, we aren’t guaranteed to get what we hope for.

I fully support implementing vials for Primal, Multi-Gaze, and Facet as OP suggested.
