much support! honestly, i think we should start a change.org petition or something. a year of no response or change from the staff? this is getting out of hand

It would be beautiful if there was a site-based poll made by the Staff themselves but since we haven't gotten even a word about anything on this topic, that's pretty much a thing for another universe. Non-site-based polls don't work because they're based on browsers as far as I know, and not accounts, so that wouldn't do much.

Also, petitions on the whole don't do any good (I mean, it doesn't matter HOW many users are for the petition, if the staff doesn't want to change it, they aren't going to) and are against the rules as far as I know. There probably should be polls to see how many peole would actually be truly upset if there were better or more opportunities to get the natural eye types on existing dragons.

They didn't poll us to see if we would want the change (and lack of ability to customize) to begin with. I think the few people who sincerely believe their 'rare' eyes are super special will live if all special eyes were made buyable/brewable and could be used on existing dragons. That is the way Ifeel, but being able to see the actual numbers would probably be beneficial on the whole.
I have the feeling that they thought there were a lot more people who wanted randomness and exclusive things than there actually are. Probably because of all the 'random mutation' threads that popup, so they figured start out small, with eyes.
(this is just my personal theory of course)

I wouldn't mind seeing a poll just for curiosity's sake!
But yeah, I think you're right. Bit weird they just saw the suggestions and didn't take into account all the people saying "No!!" in response! [emoji=guardian confused size=2]

hope we can get news on this soon

I’m completely supportive of this!
But also, I’d like a way to get scattersight’s sometimes too. I have a breeding project that has taken me over half a year now, and considering that I wasted 2 scattersight vials and didn’t even get a change in eye type at all is quite frustrating.
I can’t afford to buy more, and having some way to get more, even only during a festival or once a year would be nice.

In support of this, or some kind of change.
I'm old, my dragons are old. I don't feel the scrolls offer enough value for the RNG element + cost + rarity related to them. I try to keep tri-color scrolls in mind during my post, and the reason I feel those are fine and these are not is due to tri-colors being unlimited items that completely change the look (or look possibilities) for a dragon. I feel I get my money's worth with them. Not so much with the Scattersight.

With the introduction of Galore, we're making a one-time exception to our Suggestions policy regarding in-thread developer answers or feedback. As we're making an exception to this policy, we're also locking the thread and some related threads.
The Vial of Scattersight is permanently retired
It will not come back through gems, treasure, Roundsey, Galore, or any other site feature.
In hindsight, if we had to go back and make a choice, we probably wouldn't release the Vial of Scattersight. Instead of this gift resolving anticipated issues, it created them. These issues were exacerbated by the short collection window.
We don't want that to happen again. Limited special event items that we release (especially those that require players to brew them or find them as loot in the Coliseum) be available for a longer time period.
Common Eye Type
The standardization of the eye colors across breeds is permanent and will not be reverted, not even through an eye type vial. As we’ve mentioned before, this was done to create consistency across all current breeds and a standard for the development of future dragon breeds.
As more eye types are released, there may be some with art that bears similarity to how common eyes looked in the past, but they will be developed following the new standard.
Natural Eye Types
We agree, the introduction of the Eye Types system could have been a lot better and there is room for improvement for the continued release of natural eye types. Galore’s Glorious Gifts presented an opportunity to address your feedback on the implementation of nature eye types.
Going forward, when a new natural eye type is released, players will have seven (7) days to visit Galore and pick up two (2) clanbound vials, allowing you to customize existing dragons with eye types that will only be available through breeding.
We know these decisions won’t be popular with everyone. For the longevity and continued development of the game, the art standardization was necessary, especially as we grow our art team and release new breeds.
