Cannot state my support for this enough.

I thought I'd warm up to the new common eyes, and while I've accepted it, a lot of my dragons sadly lost their spark. My skydancers with Shadow Common eyes used to have a slight glow to them. It was such a pleasant little teeny tiny pop of purple. Now it's just barely there. And my spirals...their eyes are just too dark now. They used to be so much less...empty. They used to be brighter. I really miss it.

And I know...some people don't see the change. And that's fine. I'm not saying the new common eyes were BAD, it just was still in poor taste that none of us got any warning before our dragons' eye colors changed overnight. I know they've apologized for it, but it still doesn't...like, explain why they can't just give us a vial that allows us to revert back to that. Make it a Gem MP item for all i care, I just wish I could get my shadow dragons back to having brighter eyes. (And no, none of the new shadow colors match what it used to be. And I'm NOT scattering on the off chance that I get a shadow primal, because that is an upsetting eye type for me.)

Nice to see coli captcha is still a mess, they're continuing down the path of locking out existing dragons from new content, and legacy eyes still aren't an option. *sighs*

Playing here has become a bit of a bitter experience.

I still feel sad when I look at my old dragons with weird eyes, and I would still love a legacy eyes vial item. I've gone to covering up the eyes of those that upset me the most.

Eyes hit more than the other changes. Eyes were the only thing you couldn't change about a dragon, so I built my dragons around their eyes. And then the eyes changed, with no way of getting those exact ones back.

I don't think I'll ever properly leave, because I'm attached to my 5 year old dragons. But .... yeah.

Continued support for this option.

Yeah, I’ve been considering putting a Daredevil Cover on my Plague PC girl because the new eyes make me so sad. :(

I’ve invested too much time and money into my dragons to leave, and I’m still going to come on and play a bit every day, but the Common update definitely soured my overall joy for the site. I too matched my dragons to their eyes, as I was convinced that the eyes would never change... but apparently not.

Please, FR, please at least give us Legacy vials, even if nothing else changes. ;; I’m fine with having Common as default on all new hatches going forward, but I bought Gems to gene/breed-change several of my dragons, and for my Flight change to Light. Having all of the time, effort, Treasure, and Gems essentially flushed with no way to fix it feels... bad. Legacy eyes would remedy the situation and would be completely, entirely harmless.

I've kept fairly quiet about this update, but am putting my support in now after the recent update. Of everything, I support the idea of the legacy eyes (nonexpensive and buyable) being available. I can understand, but believe it is quite tone-deaf, the staff's other decisions. Changing eyes without notice is wrong.

There are some great, supportive, and open arguments in this thread and others. There are plenty of comparison images. Not engaging in carefully made constructive remarks is intuitively destructive. Beyond legacy eyes, the staff should take some time to seriouslu consider and address the community. It would help the site to succeed. People show their gratitude through support and choosing to spend their free budget at the locations they feel can be trusted.

Anyhow, legacy eyes at the least seems like the right mode of building bridges where rifts have been created.

I don't care much personally, but I know a LOT of people were impacted by this. The staff should at least acknowledge that the idea of Legacy Eye Vials exists, even if they say it's a solid no. I'd like to know that they listen to their userbase.

I sent in another Contact Us with some feedback and suggestions earlier, and got a response saying that they’re still working out and discussing user feedback to the implementation of eye types and the change to the default eyes.

It made me happy to hear that they’re still listening, even if nothing has changed yet. I can only pray that we’ll eventually get Legacy eyes in the future. ;_; Out of everything Eyepocalypse-related, this would be the easiest to add and have 0 possible complications. An optional vial wouldn’t negatively impact anybody; it’d just let affected players fix their dragons and open up another eye choice for new projects.

That's a LONG time to be discussing. I understand there's a lot the staff is planning for FR, but I hope they have a decision soon. Legacy eyes would be easy to roll out during a low content time because of the minimum work involved.

@Ningyo (apologies for the late reply) Your comment made me curious, so I went ahead and made a comparison for all the old vs new elements (I still had images of the old elemental eyes on Sirel saved for the purpose of shenanigans) [img]https://i.imgur.com/grBOvl8.png[/img] Some of these are fairly subtle, while others changed quite a bit. Looks like Plague got hit the worst of all, it used to be so much brighter. In fact, a lot of the eyes seem to have gotten darker in general. I'll admit, I don't actually mind the change all that much for any dragon other than Sirel.
