I think part of what is making it hard for the hatchling to look like a hatchling is the specific angle of the dragon. It's sort of hard to perceive it as a child with the other poses being more side based. I feel like the position it is currently in makes it really hard for the proportions to come off as being a hatchling. This is going to be a particularly hard dragon as is to make look childish when looking at its build. Making it a little pudgier did indeed help some but something still feels off. Perhaps making the fingers on the wings a little shorter would help to show more of it isn't as developed as the other two pieces of art.
I think maybe part of the problem is how spread out the design of the hatchling is. It's very open and that itself makes it harder to perceive it as being small. If you want to go with an open pose like this something that could help is making the overall body of the dragon as a whole smaller compared to the wings. It would help to clarify this is something younger compared to the grown-up designs. Another suggestion is possibly getting rid of the curve shown in its stomach. This suggests that the dragon is leaning forward, in on itself, which makes the mind think that it is longer than what we are currently seeing. This suggests a bigger dragon which can also lead the mind to think of it as being older. By eliminating that suggested curve it would make the dragon look shorter and would read more as a hatchling. The length of the dragon could easily be something it acquires as it grows.
A pose featuring the dragon more curled up might help or with its mouth open with its tongue out. You could then make the tongue larger which would help to show that it is a smaller dragon.
These are just some suggestions.

Okay, that sketch of the girl has me 100% convinced. I liked your art for the male, but this one, with the mouth open? Amazing. I would turn every single dragon I own into one of these girls. I like the long weird arms and legs too. They're a really neat concept. The only thing I'm not super crazy about are the wings, but I'm not a big fan of wings on dragons anyway, so it might be just me. Great job on that breed, it's one of the best suggestion I've ever seen :D

Ohh man I should't have looked... these are so cute and now I just want them to be real. Really digging how the head/mouth area works! :O
Though, now that I'm looking at the pitcher plant pic... I wonder if it would be cool to have the shape/style of the "lid" somehow incorporated into the wing design?

It might just be the pose that looks bogsneaky to me

. Looking for stoned Lvl 25s, preferably either Water or Nature. Preferably pretty or with potential. The ghostier/more halloweeny the better! Willing to offer mixed payment. |
You have my 100% undying support. Gimme the murderbags I truly enjoy the flipped skull and thorned tail. I've seen pitcher plant creatures in general fall into the Victribell trap all too often and I love how original this is.
