2.16 edit: Thank you so much for updating the forums to allow us a Dominance forum! Now it should be 1 last super easy step to ask that the Dominance Page be updated with a link to our respective Flight Dom Forum.
Please do not further discuss Flight Dom Forums here as that part of our site history is a thing of the past! And thank you to everyone who has supported this, from this topic to those who have asked for it before!
The verbiage below is not yet updated past the 2.16 site update.

I find the lack of information about Dominance (as a game played with other players) extremely lacking on Flight Rising, as in, official information. When I first began playing this game in 2014, I was curious by the concept, I mean this is located under "Play" with Coliseum and Fairgrounds, but it say nothing about how teamwork actually works.
Granted, we as players have influence in Dominance as a game and it enables us to teach players "how to play" within our own respective communities. This is overlooking a very glaring fact that at no point is the relationship between the Forum and Dominance ever referenced. To an onlooker, they just exalt dragons right?
Think for a moment if you never looked into the forums. You go in here, looking for another game to play on this site, and see this, "using their combined power to help combat the other flights." What combined power? What does that mean to a player who has never been exposed to the forum? There is no co-opt anywhere in Flight Rising's main gameplay outside of direct player interaction and the forum. Does it make them think to go to the forum? Sure some of us, but maybe they think to go to the Encyclopedia, and that redirects to the same page in the sidebar.
When the game was only a few players and a majority of single members could literally exalt up and down their flight on the board, the forum wouldn't be necessary to the game play to bring up. That isn't the case anymore. Flight Rising is nearing an awesome 300,000 members.
My first and main suggestion is to revamp the verbage in the Dominance page to mention or link a user's respective Flight Forum. This is fair across the board for new members as we all get new members every month now. It can even keep the same verbage and just provide the link if there is difficulty coming up with some "lore" based way to talk about it.
My second suggestion, which isn't the first time this has come up but is directly related to the first, is to split off Dominance topics and conversations into their own forum. Such as Plague Discussion, Plague Sales, Plague Dominance. Arcane Discussion, Arcane Sales, Arcane Dominance, etc. etc. This would be where the link goes. Why? Because if the Dominance page links to a general flight forum, they could encounter anything within the forum not related to Dominance at all, naturally, and doesn't make as much sense as a link redirecting from the Dominance page. The game of Dominance is a big enough to most flights that a separate forum could reasonably stay active.
These are related and would be a great way for all players, especially new players, to have a simple path made for them to access community-oriented Dominance. I am speaking of this entirely as a player who never intended to be a long-term player, as someone who only became passionate by happenstance of encountering the forum at the exact right time, not because the site itself made me aware of how to play this game. I am probably not alone this way.
In conclusion, players who aren't in the forum exist and still have a direct affect on Dominance, it's only reasonable they should have the site itself acknowledge the presence of how this game is realistically played now with almost 300,000 users on site.

Quote:
The realm is embroiled in a perpetual conflict called Dominance.
Dominance is determined by a flight's dedication to exalting dragons. These dragons leave their home lairs to forever serve under their elemental deity, using their combined power to help combat the other flights, as well as the newly-emboldened Beastclan hordes.
Each Saturday, the top three flights with the highest ratio of exaltations will receive special bonuses for the following week. Beware, however: If the Beastclans secure one of the three top slots, no flight will receive that slot's bonuses.
