TOPIC | Less sexualized familiars
@chromaticCrow
Yeah I don't think this was intentionally sexualized. I think what happened is that the dip in the middle is so common in fantasy settings that no one realizes it's inaccurate/potentially deadly.
@Misplaced
That unfortunately may be. I wish it could have been discussed in a more civil manner.

It's not your fault, you didn't know you were being used. =/[/quote]
Used? Come down now, I made it fully apparent in my very first post that I was attempting to find out whether or not the points made about the armour were correct or not. As I have repeatedly stated in that thread, I have no further malicious intent, and it is purely on the science.
The post I intended to make here was discussing the theory that was proposed as to what the armour was, and as to whether or not it was indeed poorly thought out character design, just in order to end that debate, nothing more, nothing less.

@theLOAD
yeah. i think that the fact that it is so common for us to think "oh boob plate must be legit" that it ended up seeping into her art really says something about our culture. that ridiculous female armor is seen as something normal and is repeated by women themselves well thats just... kinda sad?
theres that and also the fact that i dont really think that the centaur is sexualized even though her design uses a sexualized trope. and i think thats what really complicates this whole thread and may be one of the reasons it ended up being derailed? i think that for a fictional character to be sexualized she would also need to be portrayed as being sexually open, along with having her sexuality define her personality. but i dont see either of those things in the centaur? and thats just... thats just what makes her design so unusual, i guess, to even those of us who are aware that boob plate is ridiculous/misogynistic.
