SeaWeed
Bead asked who he was and he gruffly introduced himself, trying to be friendly but failing, “I am SeaWeed. A clanmate of Tricks”

He then heard what Vogel had said. He tensed up as he heard about the emperor. He was always told stories about those horrid things and he would never wish to be a part of one. Then he noticed the breeze and smelled the air. A storm, a large one was coming, and fast.

He turned to Tricks and told him such.

Tricks
He was satisfied that SeaWeed was talking. That was a start to his objective. When he overheard about the emperor again his grin fell as he realized what she had been talking about. Emperors were no joke. Although a good story he wouldn’t joke in front of someone who experienced a real one.

SeaWeed then brought the scent on the wind to his attention and from Bead’s previous facial expression and body language as the breeze blew by, he had been right. It wasn’t storm season. SeaWeed said it was going to be a large storm too. His gut tingled with the news. This would surely be a story! His smile came back a little at that thought.

His marking flowed softly again before fading. His candles flickering blue light casting odd shadows on those around. Especially on his wings. The bells ringing softly, like a warning.

SeaWeed
For a moment he was scared and it showed too. That was all because Tricks, when he wasn’t smiling... he was a terror. He only saw it once before by accident. He had seen what happened to those that made his smile fade.

Once Tricks’s smile was back he calmed down. He looked to Vogel and asked Bead “Where is the nearest shelter from here? She can’t be caught out in the incoming storm with those... injuries” he cringed slightly at the sound of her putting her wings back into socket. He saw that she didn’t even flinch. He grew a tiny bit of respect for her because of that.

The wind blew through the trees, casting leaves up into the air and spreading them across the sandy ground. They met with an obstacle, contorted and scaly, and simply whipped over it, slowly covering it until barely any of it was visible. Then, the leaves began to hiss, curl, and wither, as if touched by an invisible flame. A hundred insects crawled from their shelter and ran from the thing, watching as their delicate homes rotted and festered, disappearing like cotton candy threads in the maw of a great beast. Something was awakening, and it wasn’t good.
Another gust of cold air blasted through, and as it tore through the trunks, something else whipped up with it, throwing itself into the wood, sinking dripping orange claws into it. The trunk creaked as the claws drove into its center, weakening it as it burned away from the inside like a terrible fever. The tree crackled and groaned, tilted, and fell with a thwack like thunder. The beast that had felled it followed the line it had made, taking it as some kind of pointer. The blue-black creature lifted its wings, bared fangs spraying toxin, and a pair of wide glowing eyes lay a scene before it.
There were beating hearts, flesh, hot blood, living creatures big enough to make a good mouthful. And they were close.
Dumortierite began slinking her way towards her targets, moving slowly as a battle raged within her mind.
She didn’t want to kill them, but did she have a choice?

Bead tried to think through her fear. Yes! There was a shelter and they weren't that far from it, thank goodness. She barely noticed Vogel popping her wing back into place, except a slight feeling of shock that she could do that without hardly flinching. Bead didn't know if she would be able to do that without nearly passing out.

"Yes, a shelter, follow me, quickly!" She turned to the left a bit and almost started running but slowed down to a very fast walk, she wasn't sure if Vogel would be able to run. She could see the top of the underground shelter peeking out of the sand a couple hundred feet ahead of them and guided them toward it. She could see a few other dragons from her tribe noticing the weather and either running to the shelter and running off to herd their hatchlings toward it. She knew that soon most or all of the tribe would be filling the shelter.

Claw-steps on sand, leaving bubbling imprints as the toxic monster grew closer. She climbed a dune, her head sliding to the top and resting there. There were several dragons, including a guardian calling to the others. Her gestures and voice attracted Dumo’s attention the most, and she picked her target. She snarled, dragging herself along the sand, preparing to lunge forward and charge the guardian. A part of her still fought to regain control of herself, and she struggled to pull herself over the mound and spring off, gliding towards Bead and screeching like a banshee. As she plunged downward, she managed to tilt her wings enough to put her off mark.
She missed, crashing back into the sand next to her.

As soon as Bead took off SeaWeed grabbed a hold of Vogel. Though she was a bit heavy he had practiced flying with others in his grasp with the Wildclaws of his clan. Some of them were about as heavy as Vogel so he could pick her up. He started to fly low and followed quickly after Bead.

However, soon enough a deranged Nocture of black and blue crashed into the sand next to Bead. SeaWeed snarled a challenge and was about to gently put Vogel down and draw his Trident when one of Tricks’s ghostly hands stopped him. He looked over to Tricks who was beaming and bright.

Tricks was ecstatic and was very interested in the new comer. He quickly said, “pr. otect Vogel. Get cl. ear.” SeaWeed did as told since he knew Tricks was no idiot... at least to an extent.

Tricks squared up and flared his wings, screeching a challenge. The grin never leaving. He slowly walked around the Nocturne as it hissed at him. He noticed the glowing claws and the bubbling hiss of the sand and took note of that in mind. His ghost hands started to stretch out. He knew he had no time to mess around. Saying to Bead over his shoulder, “Tak. e them to t. he shelter.”

He watched the Nocturne with a hypnotic gaze and prepared his legs to jump at any given moment. His goal. To subdue the Nocturne, preferably knock them out so he could keep them all safe from the storm and not deal with a squirming hostile.

The wind started to pick up and the ribbon on his wings started to fly in the wind. The bells starting to jingle and the candles started to waver. The giant black feathers on him, ruffling in the wind.

Dumortierite hissed back at the wildclaw’s approach, but didn’t do much more than writhe about in the sand. She clawed at her own face, succeeding in pulling off her mask, and releasing a chest’s worth of toxic goop that poured out onto the sand. Her face was haggard, a deep glowing orange seeping from under every scale, her eyes and mouth dripping as she staggered to her feet again. These fits were always short lived, and Dumo was pressing herself harder than usual to get back to normal. She knew something was horribly wrong, and she knew she had to find a way to get out of there as fast as possible, otherwise take shelter. She reared back, but instead of attacked Tricks, she plunged her head into the sand, bubbles emerging from around her sunken head like a plugged geyser. The glow diminished, but she remained hostile, squirming as she realized she was stuck.

Tricks
Tricks stopped for a moment. This dragon had smacked itself into the sand. He could smell an interesting story from a mile away and this one certainly would be. However, he had no time to dawdle. The storm would reach them soon enough.

His ghostly arms stretched toward the Nocturne as he cautiously approached, avoiding the seething goop along the way. He then gently touched them with one. It seemed the horrid acid like stuff wasn’t on their scales.

Swiftly he ran to the back of the Nocturne and wrapped up all of their limbs, and locked the ghostly appendages together to make it even more difficult to get free. He also grabbed their mask so it wouldn’t be lost. Then with all the might he could muster he tugged on the Nocturne to try and get them unstuck. A few appendages remaining to tie up the mouth once the Nocturne’s head was free, seeing as they could spit the terrible goo out of their mouth.

Dumo struggled, but not enough to make much of a difference. Her eyes drooped as she was tied up, her wings made an attempt to curl around her for protection, and she passed out from the effort of keeping herself from hurting others.

Tricks
As he got the Nocturne’s head free it oddly looked as if their colors had changed. Oh well, he was glad they were unconscious. Easier to handle that way. Although, he wrapped their mouth just in case.

Once that was done he went to follow the others the the shelter. The unconscious Nocturne in tow. He then had a thought. He hadn’t shown Bead that magic trick he was going to show her yet. He would eventually, and he couldn’t wait to do so.

When a large, menacing dragon crashed into the sand next to her, Bead roared in shock. She flung her wings out and reared up onto her back legs. Having had enough excitement for the day, she bared her sharp teeth, ready to get this fight over with and get Vogel to safety.

Seconds later, Seaweed stepped forward, also ready to fight the new dragon, only to be stopped by Tricks. After telling Seaweed that he would take care of it, he turned to Bead and instructed her to get Vogel to safety. She almost protested but between the look in his eye that said he would take this dragon down no matter what, and how exhausted Vogel looked, Bead bit her tongue and helped Seaweed carry Vogel the rest of the way to the shelter.
