”since... since you are a friend.”
Dumortierite’s red eyes widened under her mask, not at the gills, not at the halo, not at his eyes nor how they suddenly became angry (though that did scare her a bit), but at the fact that someone had acknowledged her as something more than a vagabond passerby who ended up as an overall inconvenience to everyone.
And... she was happy about it.
What was wrong with her?! She couldn’t get attached to anything, not now!! She had to stay FOCUSED!!!
Her eyes returned to normal size, with a hint of sadness, barely identifiable, deep down.
“That’s very... cool. It’s interesting to see another dragon who can use an element different than their own.” I thought I was alone with that fact she almost added.

SeaWeed

He watched her, though barely paid attention for a moment while he concentrated on his breathing. He was calm but he needed to make sure. He noticed her body language and the surprise in her eyes before they returned to normal though. He wondered why she was surprised but he also understood he wasn’t the softest dragon out there.

Then he tilted his head in confusion at her statement. What did she mean by that? He knew at least 3 other dragons in his clan that were like him in that they were more suited to an element different from their parent one. Though he didn’t say that out loud. He noticed Tricks’ approach and nodded in greeting as they sat down nearby. Tricks waving in return. They had their signature grin on their face now.

SeaWeed felt far better with his companion acting like their normal self now. He kept his halo hidden and dragons filed out of the cave once they had determined it was alright for now. He wondered what they would do now. He knew Tricks would probably throw questions at Lepidolite to get her story. SeaWeed also noticed Bead and wondered what she would do now. She was looking in this direction with intent so he wondered if she wished to talk to him and Lepidolite as well.

Bead followed Tricks to stand beside SeaWeed and Lepidolite. She swallowed back any trepidation and turned to face the other two.

"So, after talking about it with Tricks, that scene from his card trick was definitely a sign from the Tidelord. I wanted to ask what you two thought about trying to follow the sign and find that island from the vision. I personally would like to follow it but I would prefer the company." Bead finished, feeling a bit embarrassed and eagerly awaiting their response.

Bead wondered if they would think she was weird for inviting them when they had all just met, except for Tricks and SeaWeed of course. But she felt that they could all become good friends or at least learn from this experience.

Dumo was hesitant coming out of the cave. She slung her gustgather behind her as the last of the insects filed onto her wings, watching carefully as the three dragons walked across the sand like three friends having a party on the beach. Well, it didn’t matter what the Imperial said, she was NOT their friend, and she was not planning on sticking around for some lackadaisical adventure to find the Tidelord. She didn’t even like water magic!! She could only worry about herself now, who cares if one of the deities is in trouble? Not her element, not her problem.
As the others continued, Dumo began to pull back, crouching lower and keeping a close watch to see if anyone had noticed. When she felt their attention was solely focused on Bead, she stopped completely, waiting barely a second before turning around and dashing the other way. She was worried about that creepy Wildclaw, but once she was out of sight it would be fine. She made a break for the foliage, aiming to duck into it and hide until the others had gone. It was chancy, but worth the risk.
She had to get away before they started asking more questions.

SeaWeed/Tricks

SeaWeed was walking next to Tricks, enjoying the light shower of the last of the rain. His trident at his side once more. Then his ears and whiskers twitched. His whiskers felt the shifting of sand as they lay on the ground and he could hear the light scuttling of something running away in the sand. He looked back to see Lepidolite running away towards the trees. He found it a shock and odd that a Nocturne would run instead of fly, for many reasons.

He turned to give chase and spread his wings. However, a blur of blackish purple with a glow of blue ran past. Lepidolite wasn't too smart if she thought she could outrun a Wildclaw on the ground of all places. Tricks smile was as wide as ever. His excitement to hear her story over weighed any sort of decency now. He closed the distance fast and with the last few meters, using some of the ghostly hands, he tripped her. Then pounced, landing on top of her once she stopped tumbling in the sand. "Wh. at. is this? What d. o you ha. ve to flee for?" He got close to her face as he spoke. His odd tone was a bit difficult to understand but, eh.

SeaWeed was a tad shocked and bounded over. Looking like a hoping snake as he did so. He was a tad slow though.

"One n. ot of Wind... Why hi. de? What e. vils do you hide? Tell. T. ell. I'm dy. ing to k. now!" Tricks was getting a bit too excited now. It almost looked as if his teeth was bared though he was merely smiling and trying to hold back at the same time. His talon like claws wrapped around her wings as he stood/sat on her shoulders.

Dumo had nearly been safe. She was so close, so confident that she would make it. Sure, the rumple of wings and dash of air would surely have them notice, so she would run instead.
She had never met a Wildclaw before. She had never bothered to learn about them either. She thought they came from Dragonhome. So she was not prepared to turn her head and see that blue glowing grin racing towards her with speed she had never seen.
She was also not prepared to feel a sudden harsh tug at her legs, causing her to trip, only to have that same speedy death machine to pounce on her, pinning her to the sand. His face lowered to hers and her frills withered, her eyes wide as saucers as those teeth closed in. Fear surged through her, glowing orange veins popped from her scales and pulsed their way up her neck, into her mask, lighting up her eyes as an ear piercing screech erupted from her mouth. Her head whipped around and the mask flew off, her face was a hideous snarl and a glow lit her throat like a jackolantern. She hissed, glowing goo spilling from her jaws and her eyes, claws grabbing fistfuls of sand as it fizzled and smoked and became glass. Her head snapped again, this time forwards, and she spat a stream of liquid directly at Trix.

Tricks/SeaWeed
At first he thought she wasn't answering because she was in shock, and that was partially true. Then she started to writh under his grasp and it didn't take much to see that the sand was starting to sizzle. That odd substance was back. He retracted his head and prepared to jump away. Good thing they both wore clothes as it helped him not have his feet be melted off.

Then she spat. He tried to dodge that attack but it was too close. His mask took a hit. Some of the liquid splashing onto his horns and some of the raven feathers on his wings. He hissed at the pain he felt on his horns. It sounded like that of a hideous snake. Tricks needed to get away so forcefully pushed off of her with his legs. Knocking her back into the sand with the force and flying a bit back. Once landing he tore off his mask with his ghostly hands and backed off more and rubbed his head in the sand to try and get that stuff off. While the hands removed the affected feathers. All was pain, but his smile still didn't fade.

This was strange and new. How he loved the mystery of this Nocturne so. The sand hissed and bubbled as he tried to get it off. He knew though, that his horns would be eaten and it would take a long while for such scars to fade with regrowth. The feathers on his head were unaffected for now and were that same raven black with blue eyes staring back.

SeaWeed was still a ways back and saw what happened partially. He snarled a challenge at, what was now a threat. There was enough water here, though not a lot, it was enough. Using his magic he conjured water spears from the last bits of rain that still fell. Making three Wildclaw sized ones in all. They got bigger over time as rain fell but soon the rain would stop. He snarled and took to the air. He was far better at maneuvering in the air than on the ground after all. He looked to Trick to see if they were okay. They looked excited, in pain, but excited. He knew they wanted this threat alive. He sighed and focused on restraint. He could shape the water as it went so he first started by throwing two spears the threats way.

Adrenaline pulsed through Beads veins as soon as she could tell what was going on. She rushed towards the trio, panicking at the fight that seemed to be breaking out.

“No, no, no. No more pain.” Bead muttered to herself. She skidded to a halt, accidentally spraying some sand. She looked at Tricks, who seemed fine. Injured, but not fatally, and oddly excited. Bead squeezed her eyes shut and tried to concentrate. She wasn’t very skilled with magic but she couldn’t let any of these dragons die. She focused on the water spears that SeaWeed had just thrown toward Dumo. She tried to slow them down and soften them. She was sure she wouldn’t be able to stop them from hitting Dumo but if she could just lessen the damage. She hoped that she could just get everyone to calm down and talk. Bead had no idea how but she could not watch any of these dragons die.

Bead could almost sense the arrows and flinched when she felt them hit their target. Her eyes opened wide in fear at what may or may not be in front of her.

SeaWeed

As he threw the spears he felt something was wrong. He noticed that a lesser of magic was trying to mess with his. It was an annoyance and slightly threw off his control. Not only slightly changing the tragectory but also messing with how they reacted. One started to turn into ice while the other was simply speeding up and was breaking apart a little.
He quickly regained his composure and easily over powered the other with his superior magic control. Barely able to turn back the spear from ice to water. Though it was still slightly frozen. He had to change its shape, barely able to flatten it a little before it hit. While the other took less but still, it took him a bit more concentration than he would’ve liked to get it to do what it was supposed to. Which was go from being a spear into being a blanket of restraining water when it hit. (If it hits. If it doesn’t hit Dumo it stays a spear. If the other hits then it’ll hurt a lot more but won’t be deadly and will either be a more effective or less effective trap. I dunno.)

Dumo whipped around for a moment more as Tricks retreated, coughing violently as the rush of toxin quickly fell back. She lay gasping on the sand, her body on fire, unable to move.
She heard snarls and the flapping of wings, and felt a shift as magic was drawn in to someone she couldn’t see.
Panic took her, this time the toxins staying at bay. She desperately clawed at the charred sand below her, trying to flip herself over and recover before she was attacked.
She saw her mask in the sand, reached for it, then noticed a reflection on its glossy surface.
Sharp spears of water were hurtling downwards. She knew their target was her. All she could do was turn and watch as doom closed in...
A split second later, and the spears met their mark. SeaWeed had done his best to soften them, Bead had tried to do the same, but their conflicting magic had prevented them from being totally harmless.
Dumortierite screamed as the blunted weapons pierced into her, putting a few holes in her wings and bruising her limbs and body. Cuts formed and blood sprayed onto the sand as she writhed in agony, tears beginning to spill from her eyes.
