Gabriell was one of the last one out of the English teachers class. They still hadn’t memorized all of their names yet, though... But as long as they weren’t called on, “Mr. English Teacher” was fine. All this stress was making them hack and cough into their sleeve. This wasn’t even their first week here, and already an earthquake, or something akin to it? Sometimes they just wished they could catch a break.
Gabriell hurried where the English teacher told them to go with no issue. Coughing into their sweater again, they situated themselves under one of the desks.
“Yes, thank you so much, Lukas-“ although Ana didn’t have time to continue as the earthquake got worse, “Over to the central classroom!”
All classes knew it was the safest, and Felix practically slid under one of the desks and hung on tightly to the leg. A ceiling tile fell dangerously close to the table, and he heard a few thumps above him. What the hell? Never in a million years would he think that the earthquake drills would be useful.

Lukas grabbed Ana by her arm and started going to the central classroom with her. He wanted to make sure she was safe too. There was no point in calming the students now. Total chaos errupted and other teachers were hurrling to safety themselves. You cant protect these kids if your dead yourself. He was headed towards Oscar.

Alex in his haziness got pushed by someone, he didnt even know who it was. Then he saw Rory's face and his friend was dragging him someone, it appeared to be the central classroom. They hid under a desk and he started to think straight again. His face was now covered in blood from the scratch he got when falling

The earthquake continued on. Notebooks were nosediving in English classrooms, beakers were breaking in science, and dodgeball balls dominated the gym. Cracks grew steadily wider and higher, and they definitely appeared to be glowing green.
Suddenly the whole school seemed to tilt on its side slightly. Huge cracks appeared along the floor, wide enough that only the most athletic could sail over, and definitely glowing green from an indefinite source that seemed to reach down into eternity - even though they were on the second floor. This wasn’t physically possible.
The school lurched, disrupting some kids and causing them to slid from their hiding places and nearer to the ever growing cracks. In fact, now the entire school had a definite tilt, towards the east (why? I don’t know, I’m not psychic). Kids rolled across the floor, a couple unlucky ones sliding into the gaping holes, often screaming as they went down.
Katie had enough of this. The crawled out from under her desk and glared at the crack that blocked the doorway out. “We need to leave,” she said, preparing to run and jump. Lia watched, terrified, as she jumped over the chasm...
... And made it too the other side. Huh, Lia thought. That wasn’t so bad.
Of course, right then the school shook, causing Katie to stumble. “Whoa- no!” She screamed as she fell backwards into the chasm. Lia screamed as well. She’d barely known Katie. Now she was gone.
The cracks spread. In fact, they were all over campus; what the students couldn’t see was that there was actually a circle of cracked, glowing earth surrounding the entire school.
Suddenly the school tilted one way, then the other, before seemingly plunging straight downward. Lia screamed until her throat was raw, and then she and everyone else in the building fell unconscious.
Katie woke up with a groan. She was lying on the cold, hard, tile floor of her school, with bits of crushed tile in her mouth. She spit it out before propping up on her forearms to survey the damage.
The school was in a lot better shape than she’d originally thought. The cracks were very minor, like they’d shrunk into minuscule issues, and they no longer glowed... wait...
Hadn’t she fallen into one? Either way, here she was, in a mostly intact school, same classroom as before. See, even Lia was still there, albeit unconscious. And besides, the earthquake was completely gone now. Lia and the others in the room didn’t appear to be injured, so she needed to check other people.
Katie stood up and marched towards the doorway. She was so absorbed in her mind of what just happened that she didn’t notice she was four inches taller than the door until she smacked right into the top of it. Wincing, she took a step back.
That’s odd, she thought. I couldn’t have grown in the, what, five m8nites I was out. Door must’ve endured some structural damage. Now a little wiser (albeit not realizing she was seven feet tall and the door was 6’8”), she ducked to go through the door and into the hallway.
It was a mess. The lockers had fallen over, ceiling tiles were chipped, and various papers were strewn everywhere. Right in front of her was someone who didn’t appear to be conscious but was bleeding. Concerned, Katie kneeled down and poked them.
“Hey,” She said, poking them again. “Are you okay?”
She still, naturally, had no idea that she was a dragon, and all of her clothes were now ripped in a few places due to her sudden growth spurt. Except her watch. Whoever that person was, they’d have an... interesting sight to behold.

Live today. Don’t wait for tomorrow.
It was all a blur. The chasms, Katie falling into one, and falling unconsious.
Jaqueline, still in the classroom under a desk, slowly opened her eyes. She couldn't feel her glasses on her face, which was accurate considering the earthquake that happened. What was unexpected was the fact that she could see just fine.
Strange. Guess it's a miracle, huh?
Crawling out from under the desk, the girl noticed that everything seemed bigger, even when she got up. Still cautious because of what had happened, Jaqueline slowly peeked out of the doorway to the classroom, oblivious to her new form.

Felix, surprised by the sudden shift of the school, went barreling down towards one of the chasms with a small shout. Then, a sudden hand grabbed his wrist, stopping his descent with a painful halt.
“Mom?!” he shouted, surprised that she caught him and was hanging onto the ledge with surprising strength. She had barreled through several people to grab him, it seems. She definitely wasn’t strong enough to pull both of them up, though, and when she tried to do so she couldn’t even lift him an inch. She whipped her head to the side to avoid being hit by a stray book.
“You need to-!” and her shout was cut short by a shirt ceiling tile landing right on her head, knocking her out completely as both of them fell out of sight.
Meanwhile, Gabe covered their mouth and backed up from the opening floor. Their eyes were blurred from the tears of pressure that was building in their chest, and they cough even harder at all the stray debris in the air. They backed up into the far corner of the room, trying to get at much distance as they could... until the school tilted. They were useless against the sway, not even bothering to hold onto something as they rolled towards the crevice and fell right in. They wouldn’t of been able to hold on very long, anyways.
...
Felix first woke up to the short scream of a woman.
“Ow...” he mumbled, rubbing his temple. His head didn’t hurt from it getting hit from stray things from the earthquake, but rather it’s as his hearing escalated by ten times. The scream had immediately woken him up, and now gave him a major headache. Wait, that scream sounded familiar...
“Ma?” he said, confused as he opened his eyes. Ana wasn’t looking at him, but rather his ears? That was strange, nothing really hurt other than his head. His mom looked shocked, however, her hand covering her mouth and her eyes widened.
Gabe woke up minutes later. They had a hard time fully waking up, as they felt more sluggish than usual. Their chest hurt, but at least they weren’t hyperventilating anymore. They sat up with a groan. They felt... empty? As if they hadn’t eaten in days. Weeks. Months.
They held their stomach with a groan, curling up. Maybe something hit it when the earthquake struck? In fact, they felt almost sick. They covered their mouth and took deep breaths. ...Now wasn’t the time, damnit. They couldn’t muster enough strength to get up, so they leaned against one of the walls, rubbing their head. They heard faint talking, but they didn’t really care, at the moment.

Skye
Skye screamed as the chasms grew wider, trying to move, but it was too late. Her screams were in the depths of the green chasm, and the back lf her head hit a ledge of concrete within the chasm, and then.. there was nothing. The girl was unconcious, lying against the outer wall of the school, against a crack that was only now about as wide as a finger, but that moments ago she had fallen completely into. Her head, now with wild grey/white fur instead of her regular hair, was somewhat bloody from te impact, thought her softly glowing blue horns remained intact. A tufted tail lay limp underneath her newly altered, slightly more animalistic and also alien form.
Rory
Rory covered his head in his hands, screwing his eyes shut tightly in fear. He just wanted everything to go away, but everything was getting more intense, and the tremors had more strength by the second, it seemed. The desk he was under with Alex had even shifted slightly, despite probably being the heaviest thing in the room. Suddenly, he was knocked unconcious, not having made any noise at all.
Only minutes later, he woke up to complete silence. Immediately panicking and thinking he must be dead, he jumped to his feet.. but hit his head against the bottom of the desk only inches above him when he had been sitting. With a load moan, he rubbed his head gingerly, clambering out from under the desk and then turning back around to see if Alex and the girl, Aspen, were alright.
(oof not a very good post and i definitely forgot things but i was distracted, sorry)

Tokala flinched in surprise as someone spoke to her. “Oh! Hola!” Tokala mentally facwpalmed as she started speaking Spanish in her panic. “Hi. No I’m not doing ok. There’s an earthquake and I’m under a desk and the cracks in the walls are glowing and roof might cave in and we’re going to die in a pile of rubble or suffocate from the dust if we don’t, so no. And I think it’s understandable.” She said all of that in an odd mix of quick and panicky, and explanatory. “We should probably move under the teach-” Her words were interupted by her own scream as the world tilted around her and she tumbled sideways.
She was not sure when she had fainted - or perhaps been knocked out? But when she awoke, it was to a loud, demanding voice in her head. Who are you? The voice boomed, and it forced Tokala to wakefulness. “Wha...” She blinked, and found her vision blocked by a dark mass. “What?” She tried to reach up to brush whatever was in her face away, only to meet something solid, warm, and furry. Tokala snatched her hand back in surprise, and a shriek escaped her as she realized that the weight on her chest was caused by large, clawed paws and the blackness in her face was a freaking black panther. Stop that. The panther demanded, folding back its ears. And Tokala did, out of shock, her mouth snapping shut so fast she bit her tongue. Because cats did not talk, and they certainly didn’t talk without moving their mouths. Tokala felt like fainting again, because while she did not think she had died, waking up to a large predator standing on her chest and speaking telepathically to her was almost worse.

Rather than Alex a large winged beast was lying unconcious beside Rory. It was huge compared to the boy, and obviously those fangs and claws. Rory was actually holding this beasts arm. The desk they were under was hanging from on this creatures wings. It had a cut on its head just like Alex had but that was the only similarity. The beast seemed to be breathing heavily in its sleep.
~~~~~~
Lukas was lying beside Ana when he woke up. Lukas then blinked twice, then another couple of times. He got up. Nothing. He suddenly couldnt see anything at all, even the tip of his nose. He never had perfect sight but now, in an instance there was nothing, only hollow darkness. It was odd, he was looking at Ana just a minute ago and now nothing.
- I can't see - He said, with panic in his voice.
He rubbed his now purple eyes, which were blue when he was normal. He was moving his pupils, trying at least see a glimpse of anything, anything at all. Fear swept through him. He started to tremble.
- Ana I cant see anything! - He screeched and reached out his shaking hands, trying to reach anything, anything at all.
Obviously in his panic he never realised that his head got significantly heavier or that his tailbone could move, furthermore, that he had a tail sticking uncomfortably out of his trousers. He never realised the discomfort of having it that way. He neverer noticed that he had a scabbard attached to his belt, with a katana inside of it. No the panic and fear were the only two things he could feel. He tried to look around, and since Ana was beside him, he nearly pocked one of her eyes out with the sharp end of his straight horn, he scraped her nose though. He was having a panic attack. He was short of breath and was sweating even though he did no physical work.
His heart was pounding like there was no tomorrow. He felt like he wanted to get out of here, flee and find a place to be safe, to get his eyesight back. He felt suddenly sick and dizzy. He was helpless, scared and felt alone in this world.
- Help me - He begged with tears in his eyes. His new eyes looked dull, they had a different color but no sharpness. And they werent focusing on anything at all. They did look like eyes of someone who is blind. They looked as if they were blind forever, not only just now.
He usually considered himself a strong man, both physically as well as mentally. In an instance he lost all those beliefs, and who would blame him? Lukas never thought that one could loose his eyesight in a matter of seconds, he never realised that he wasnt himself anymore, that he wasnt a normal teacher anymore, that now he was a kitsune, and the price he had to pay for that change, according to Junglearia, was his eyesight.
Rory stared at the beast before him for a second, then, slowly and as quietly as he could, let go of it's arm. He swallowed, staring the huge monster up and down, and wondering just how deep it was sleeping. He wondered vaguely where Alex had gone, because clearly he wasn't here anymore, but those thoughts drifted away as oanic set in from the sight before him. He stood, as quietly as he could, though a bit stiffly, and ducked under the desk, passing the beast..
He broke into a dead sprint for the door, scrambling and nearly falling flat on his face as he tripped over a fallen chair, making a loud clattering as the chair's leg slammed against one of the student desks. He winced at the sound, but realized being quiet wouldn't have mattered.. as he ran out of the doorway, he saw another huge monster.. this one with SCALES! It was reaching out to someone, and oh god, they were bleeding, it was gonna eat them and he was next!
His eyes wide as saucers and his whole body feeling like it was trembling, he started to backpedal into the classroom, in his panic forgetting there was another monster in the classroom that he was trying to run from too. Only seconds later did he remember that, and he cast a hasty, panicked glance towards the corner where he's woken up next to the monster, then ran for the opposite corner, where a bunch of cabinets were. One was open and empty, books scattered about from where they had fallen and one of the doors unhinged on the ground. He squeezed into the cabinet as quickly as he could, grabbing the cabinet door and holding it in front of him. Hopefully the beast was dumb enough to think he wasn't there.. or would forget about him, or maybe the cabinet would somehow be enough of a sheild to keep him alive.. More and more possibilites for this situation's end that got worse and more gruesome every time they repeated in his head wouldn't stop replaying, and he tried to make himself smaller, to not avail.
Holland stood frozen as the world around her collapsed, literally. Items, books and backpacks flew around wildly as the school began to tilt. All Holly could do is hang on to the closest thing near, which was unfortunately a door frame, as walls and floor split. Just when it seemed like she had a good grasp and wasn’t going to go rolling, the door slammed right on her fingers. "Sh*t!" Holly screamed as she was forced to let go in pain, falling right into the chasms below.
Waking up, it had all felt like a dream until the pain registered. Everywhere ached and felt bruised, her head felt dizzy, and all Holly could do was to just lay there. When the pain finally became manageable, she slowly got up, pushing off the many things that fell on her. "Hello?" Holland called out weakly, even her voice sounding shaky to her own ears. "Anyone out here?" She yelled desperately, eyes darting through the destroyed classroom she found herself in.
...
The earthquake went from 1 to 1000 real fast and Kodiak barely had time to register it as the chaos broke out. Although he was quickly brought out of his confusion as he heard the panicked voice of his friend. "Uhm, I have no idea," Kodi replied, fear slowly creeping into his voice. As the shaking continued to get worse, Kodi instinctually grabbed out for anything that could steady him, which happened to be a nearby wall and... Adrian. This happened to be a pretty horrible idea as the the sudden movement in addition to the tremors caused both of them to fall.
Holly screamed as she was forced to let go in pain, falling right into the chasms below.
Waking up, it had all felt like a dream until the pain registered. Everywhere ached and felt bruised, her head felt dizzy, and all Holly could do was to just lay there. When the pain finally became manageable, she slowly got up, pushing off the many things that fell on her. "Hello?" Holland called out weakly, even her voice sounding shaky to her own ears. "Anyone out here?" She yelled desperately, eyes darting through the destroyed classroom she found herself in.
The earthquake went from 1 to 1000 real fast and Kodiak barely had time to register it as the chaos broke out. Although he was quickly brought out of his confusion as he heard the panicked voice of his friend. "Uhm, I have no idea," Kodi replied, fear slowly creeping into his voice. As the shaking continued to get worse, Kodi instinctually grabbed out for anything that could steady him, which happened to be a nearby wall and... Adrian. This happened to be a pretty horrible idea as the the sudden movement in addition to the tremors caused both of them to fall.
