Alex was handling the shaking ground pretty well. Except for himself, he was shaking himself like the earth.
- How am I suppose to know? I never got a chance to read about them.
He answered and sighed. He looked around, saw students that were freaking out and teachers that were trying to maintain some order. Then he turned back to his friend.
- Are we going to be okay? - He asked.

Ophelia scoffed at Sorrells come back, arms coming up to cross in front of her, a slightly sour expression on her face. Even if they were still her friends, the greaser did not like being the butt of other people's jokes. Its just to un-cool. A smile quickly returned to her face though a she held up and flexed her arms, muscle covered up by jacket but still visible in their mass. "Who needs good grades when you have guns like these?"

Ophelia groaned as Mrs.Bradley announced the pop quiz, joining in with Felix's lamination. The fact that she had even been able to get into calculus was a miracle, and now the teacher sprung a pop quiz on her? The only thing that was slightly motivating was the plate of Mrs. Bradley's browines, which the greaser knew from experience were delicious. Ophelia pulled put a pencil from her backpack and wrote her name on the quiz, scribbling on the sides instead of actually doing work.

When the small rumbles that had been shaking the ground turned into full on violent tremors, Ophelia let her pencil drop, a slightly alarmed look on her face as she looked around the classroom. When Mrs.Bradley told everyone to evacuate to the hall, small pandamonieum broke out as everyone rushed to the door. Standing up and not even bothering to grab her stuff, she made her way to the door, strangely calm in the face of the whole situation. She only waited for her friends, standing next to the doorway and looking out into the sea of faces. People were screaming and crying, looking for friends and siblings. Ophelia thought their reactions where honestly to dramatic for the situation. Its just an earthquakes guys, it's not like it's going to kill you.

Noticing that Felix was having trouble in the crowd do to the pushing and shoving, Ophelia started making her way over to him, doing some shoving and pushing herself. The short boy was easier to pick out in the crowd due to bright pink hair color, and she soon made her way over to him, knees slightly bent and arms up in an attempt to combat the quakes and other students in the hall. "This is crazy!" She shouted at Felix, looking around the crowd for her other, taller friend. Sorrell could take care of himself, but Ophelia was still worried for him considering there was a earthquake going on at the moment.

With signal? What an odd question. "Um, let me check," Holly replied as she fished her phone out of her backpack that she still had on. Quickly turning her phone on she noticed there was absolutely no connection. "I don’t have a signal, do you think the earthquake knocked out the wifi or radio tower?" She said with a frown.

The earthquake began to decrease until it was only a slight rumble, like distant thunder. Mr. Brunswick waited a few minutes before getting up and walking the length of the hallway where all of the students were. “As a precaution, please remain where you are and keep calm. There could be after-“

Right on cue, the earthquake resumed, but this time twice as strong. Mr. Brunswick tripped over his feet and narrowly avoided a falling locker. “Everyone, in the classroom!” He yelled over the rumbling, pointing to the open doorway of a classroom at the center of the school.

Katie didn’t need to be told twice. She darted around a water fountain that was spewing and into the classroom, where she dove under a black science table. Ceiling tiles broke and fell. Long cracks began crawling up the walls, spilling wall bits everywhere. Is that normal for earthquakes? She wondered inside of her fearful ball she’d become.

Lia paused to let a ceiling tile in front of her fall before she ran for it. In various classrooms, bookshelves crashed to the ground as their textbooks scattered everywhere. Lia had to dodge those and various other falling things, before she ducked under her own table for cover. Mr. Brunswick began escorting students through the safest routes possible under tables.

Lia might’ve been hallucinating, but she could’ve sworn those cracks in the walls were glowing green.

Seeing that the earthquake worsened in seconds, Jaqueline made a mad dash for the classroom. She was going so fast that she actually tripped and fell, conveniently under a desk. Taking no notice of the cracks in the walls, she curled up into a ball and sat there, waiting for this to all be over.

When the earth started to shake even worser Alex fell on his bum, hitting his head on the wall. He moaned with pain and his vision was blurry for a few seconds. He put his hand on his head and noticed he was bleeding. He moaned again, trying to get up, all the noise was making his head hurt even more. He tried to get up and looked for Rory to help him.

~~~~
Lukas on the other hand barely stood his ground, he grabbed Ana and that made him keep his ground.
- We have to get the students out of here.
He shouted to Ana over the noice of the earthquake and panicing children. He was starting to feel uneasy himself.
- Everyone, follow Mr. Brunswick if you can, dont push or panic.
Aspen looked over at the boy beside her, muttering an apology as she let go of his arm. She returned her focus to protecting her head with her arms. As the earthquake started to let up she slowly rose to her feet, holding the lockers for extra balance as she stood. She pushed her hair out of her eyes and looked around, relieved that it was over. But then it wasn’t. The building shook much worse this time, and everything was breaking or falling. She saw the lockers she was next to start to rock, and once again grabbed the arm of the guy next to her. Rory, if she remembered correctly. She shoved him and another student who was bleeding(possibly Alex) out of the way before diving herself, landing out of reach of the now crashed lockers. She curled up in a protective ball as a cieling tile crashed, part of it landing on her leg. She yelled before clambering back to her feet and running into the nearest room, trying to pull the bleeding student along. He seemed only half concious. She backpedaled as a shelf of science equipment feel to block the door, and she ran to the next classroom where she huddled under a desk, tears streaking her face. The injured student was a few feet a way. She just knew she was going to die here. She screamed as a large storage cabinet fell onto the table, her head between her knees. Luckily the table held, but she didn’t know if it would stay that way.
AJ leapt out of the locker as it started to shake, tripping over a cieling tile that had fallen. She crawled past the water fountain, splashing through the now spewing water as she struggled to her feet and ran for a classroom. She slid under a table, her water bottle rolling out of her back. She snatched it back and closed her bag, holding her arms over her head as the world seemed to fall apart.
Tokala had been delivering some papers for her current period’s teacher to another class when the shaking started. With a yelp, she ducked into the nearest classroom and scrambled beneath the nearest table, and letting the papers fly as she was suddenly knocked off balance and was forced to catch herself. For a moment, she stared despairingly at the papers (now hopelessly out of order) but decided that she could apologize later, if she survived. She was pretty sure the cracks running rapidly towards ceiling were a good indicator that she might not survive.
((Sorry that was short and not so great - I just wanted to figure out a way to jump in))
Adrian - interacting with kody
Adrian had barely begun fiddling with the nurse's room door when the ground began to shake. Not in the "oh it's probably just some kids running around" manner but more akin to an earthquake - something he hadn't experienced before but was 99.99% sure that this was how it felt.
Steadying himself on the door, he felt the usual beads of sweat and pit in his stomach that came along with a minor panic attack. Maybe it was the fear of being buried alive outweighing his sanity, but he could hear his arrhythmic heart beat throbbing in his ears. "No, we aren't playing these games right now," he whispered to himself, grinding his teeth in frustration.
'What to do, what to do' kept swimming around in his head as he started to book it for the center of the building. As he neared a small cluster of the classrooms, he found that swarms of students were ducking and following teachers orders. Anxiously scanning the faces, it took him a whole 3 minutes to see one person he was close to. Almost every one of his friends was in a different grade, making it difficult for him to see them outside of lunch and the occasional free period.
"Oh man, thank f*cking god," he sighed, scrambling over to Kody as the tremors got worse. His bud appeared to be completely calm what with ceiling ready to collapse on their heads or the floor opening up and swallowing them.
"What's going on man? One minute I'm trying to catch a nap in the nurses room and then-," he paused to gesture to the chaos around him, "this happens." Reaching up, he wiped away the sweat from his forehead, clearly disturbed by the hell unfolding in front of him.
"Last time I freaking checked, the mid-west didn't get this crap."
Eli - interacting with tokala
Eli had done the one thing his teacher had told him not to - stray away from the group. Sadly, he had been one of the last ones out of the classroom thanks to the majority of the kids hustling out while screaming frantically. Ducking behind one of the taller students, he slipped into the adjoining room with the intention of catching a minute to breathe. He wasn't exactly in full panic mode, however the thought of getting squished between two 6 foot something guys was enough to drive him away from the crowds.
Keeping himself low to the ground and crawling between some of the desks he found that he wasn't the only one sheltering themselves in here. Peering between the metal bars of a chair, he found a girl huddled under a desk with a pile of papers smeared in every direction possible. Fliers for some school event no doubt. Feeling a bit awkward just staring at her without saying much, he dragged his gaze to the floor. She'd probably gotten stuck in here without the ability to come or go. His idea to join her was absolutely the most idiotic, dangerous thing he could've done but he figured in the end it might've been better to give her company than leave her to suffer alone.
"Hey, you uh..doing ok over there?" Eli called, managing a fetal position under a desk a row up. He wanted desperately to put his earbuds in and forget it all, but that decision might get him killed. As the the cracks in the ceiling grew bigger, he watched as flecks of paint and dust fell ominously in front of him, caking the floor.
Rory
Jolted into action as suddenly the shaking came back, even worse than before, Rory shouted, trying to see Skye, but he couldn't find his cousin through the crowds. He realized te same girl from before was trying to help Alex to the enarest classroom, and he ran after the two, practically diving under the teache's desk, near the table that the girl was hiding under. He watched in horror as a heavy cabinet fell onto the table, which stayed standing but was creaking slightly. He grabbed the dazed Alex, pulling his friend in a mad scramble to safety under the desk with him, then looked back to the girl. The desk was pretty large, so the three could fit under it if they squeezed. "Hey, come over here! Fast! The desk is safer!" He whisper-yelled, not really having any reason to be quiet but doing it anyway because of his panic.
Skye
Skye started to relax in the few seconds of peace when the tremors had seemed to stop, but then, suddenly, she fell to the ground as it shook again, stronger than ever. Oh God, this was real, she was going to die. She shouldn't have taken her stupid backpack, it was dead weight and she wouldn't be able to run fast enough and she'd be crushed by the falling ceiling or a locker because she couldn't get to safety and it would be her fault and.. and.. The sophomore sobbed, curling up as tightly as she could against the outer wall of the school, too panicked to think straight now. She stared uncomprehendingly at a large crack in the wall as it grew.. up, and up, and out, a few chips of the wall starting to fall and crumble. Suddenly grasping the situation, she scrambled back in a crab-walk sort of motion, staring agape. at the large crack in the wall that was.. glowing? She stared at the wall in horror and awe from where she sat in the middle of the hall, not understanding at all what was happening.
