In the beginning, Hunters and Riders had nothing to do with each other. A Hunter slayed and a Rider tamed, and that was the way of the world. Though in todays time, Hunters and Riders have begun to come together more than ever. A small faction of Riders created a guild alongside that of the Hunters guild, establishing a peace between the two parties, aside form whatever personal squabbles the two parties might have.
The world finally seems at a solid peace, but of course peace will never last forever.
Monster activity had increased more than ever, something disrupting the balance of nature. There is a darkness beginning to creep over the land, one that may thought was long gone. As the blight returns, both sides must come together in an attempt to push back the dark.
That, is where you come in.
A letter now rests in your hand, one you decide to open and to heed. It reads:
"Hello [Name],
If you are reading this letter, it means your talents have caught the attention of the guild and B.E.D. (Blight Eradication Division). You're one of the best, at being a hunter or rider depending on where you hail from. Whether you are with the guild or not, you have been summoned to assist in the pushback against the blight. As of now, you and the other people who have received these letters are the only ones aware of what is to come.
I'm sure you are well aware of the increase in monster attacks as of recent. Some of that is owed to a darkness known as 'blight'. This darkness can infect a monster and corrupt it in unnatural ways, something that will show as aa dark aura around the creature. The job of you and your group will be to push back against this threat by any means necessary.
Meet each other in Gildegaran-- the city of hunters and home to the guilds-- at 8am sharp. Here you will be prompted and set off on your first mission.
Best of luck,
The Guildmaster"
So the premise is following a team of Hunters and Riders who are both studying the frequent monster attacks, pushing back against said monsters, and trying to eradicate the blight. The end goal is to eradicate the blight, but obviously it'll take a while to get there. Until then the characters are jus going to have to learn to get along and fight together despite their differences.

Character Creation
Hunter
- The youngest a Hunter can be is 16, however they would be completely new to it
- Hunters can have 1 species of monster companion, but can have up to 2 individuals
- A hunter can only have an Elder Dragon species as their companion if they have been a hunter for at least 15 years.
- If your companion monster is an Elder dragon species, there can only be 1 individual rather than 2
- If you have a 'Great'/'Drome' monster as your companion, you may have up to 15 'prey' monsters/the smaller versions of the same species
- Their age/size is up to you. Obviously a Juvenile will be smaller than a full grown adult, and a baby about the side of a cat/dog (This will also impact how useful they'll be for battle).
- This is how Hunters traditionally train monsters (although some can be found in their earliest years rather then trained like that)
Rider
- The youngest a Rider can be is 14, however they will be new to it
- Riders can have 6 different monsters, unlike Hunters they can put the monsters into a kinship stone for safe keeping rather than just have them out and about constantly
- Every Rider has a Kinship stone surrounded by 5 smaller ones
- A Rider can have an Elder Dragon species after being a Rider for 12 years
- Their age/size is up to you. Obviously a Juvenile will be smaller than a full grown adult, and a baby about the side of a cat/dog (This will also impact how useful they'll be for battle).
- Rider's monsters can be 'full grown' in power yet be shrunken down to a smaller size that can fit into buildings/on the streets. Similarly, they can be turned back to their full size by their Rider.
- Riders traditionally obtain monsters as eggs, however some might be found at young age
