though I gotta say, two powerful mage parents? these girls are gonna be scary when they're older
DON'TCHA LOVE WHEN THAT HAPPENS. there's a reason I don't buy fodder
ugh I wish these gen ones would just sell
Myrddin watches Judas thoughtfully for a moment; it's possible, he thinks, that movement from the diaphragm is forcing ice crystals into flesh, even forcing some to break and sliver within him. But that would have been detected, wouldn't it? He isn't sure how magically or medically inclined Samael is. Intelligent the coatl may be, but everyone has their strengths and weaknesses.
Still, he doesn't bother Judas about it, and he can respect the idea that he doesn't wish anyone to see him struggle. So he follows Quinn silently after another bow, this one tinged in quiet gratitude that he knows Judas can detect.
Outside of the chambers, thoughtfully, he murmurs, "He is a kind thing, beneath the veneer of monstrosity."

Oh heck yeah they are. They'll fit right in pfft.
I mean I now have a new gen one project, and like I can't get rid of Fritzgerald now bc I already have lore ideas.
I just want some of my stuff to sell, I'm need 400 more gems to pay Momo off because a sweet friend gave her to me without me having to pay up front.
The skydancer stands once they leave, wandering into the private room and setting his eyes on an empty self. They glow red for a moment, guilt and regret apparent to the small bugs who give him hopeful messages. The truth was simple, Samael was never able to study Judas, for the captain always refused.
Even as the pain became harder to handle the skydancer was frightened by the thought of Judas discovering what was and was not in his once living body.
Quinn notices the door close silently, most likely the bugs. With a dejected sigh he nods. "A very kind man indeed." He agrees, looking around as they began to make their way out of the captains domain. "What did you two discuss while I was gone?" Smiling the tundra looked towards Myrddin once more, curiosity within that grin.

tru that
to be fair myrddin's one of my Super Stronk babs and is one of the exceptions, not the rule xD
I mean I have a lot of dangerous kids but one can be dangerous and not be overpowered, ya know? but a guy modeled after bloody merlin can't be a wuss
I just want room tbh, since I'm actually putting forth an effort to get my lair the way I want for my lore. and I don't wanna just exalt a three-year-old valentine's gen one. he's unbred and everything, it's just his colours aren't great. not bad either. just not great.
Myrddin glances back at the door, thoughtful. He sits a moment, unmoving, claws tapping on the floor rhythmically, but when Quinn nudges him, he snaps out of it and smiles, standing. "You," he says, casual. He isn't lying. "He wants to be sure I'll take care of you like you deserve." He winds his tail with Quinn's again.
He doesn't like hiding something from him, especially not something so close to Quinn's heart. But he doesn't want the warlock to panic. His mother is not infallible, or indeed even close to what Myrddin is. That isn't ego speaking, either; Myrddin does not have an ego, nor is he interested in developing one. And if she were, he has many powerful strings to pull.
But a trauma victim--especially one who was victimized by a parent--often views their abusers as far more powerful than they really are. As nearly invulnerable, in fact, and in Quinn's case--a young-at-heart being who has not had the chance to deal with his trauma and begin to truly heal--it is even worse.
He doesn't want Quinn to be terrified of the idea of him meeting his mother. And he certainly doesn't want to have him beg him off the intention, and have to go against his wishes.
He will not leave a threat like this hanging over Quinn's head for the rest of his life.
But he lets the thoughts slip away, and nudges him as they move through silent, frigid halls. "I think," he murmurs quietly, "that your captain is afraid." He doesn't have to specify of what, he senses, and turns green eyes to watch Quinn.

A lot of my monster kids are pretty strong but have pretty common weaknesses, or like super obvious weak spots on their body. I try and balance it out.
But in one way or another my kids are dangerous. I enjoy danger kids, they're pretty fun to lore.
Tbh I like him, if I had the gems to spare I would snatch him up because he can actually be cute, Or cute in my opinion. Heh. I'm just trying to get money to move to plague and to pay my friend back.
The tundra's ears darken at the words, and he laughed quietly shaking his head. The lie was believable, for Judas had the same talk with the engineer decades ago. Of course it was when Quinn was in the room, but he doesn't suspect that's not exactly what was talked about.
"If you ever choose to have a conversation with the captain again please do not allow him to speak." The comment was made in agitation, the pain had only gotten worse because of the skydancer's chatter, even if it was a very rare occurrence. "He only ends up hurting himself more, I can't blame him for trying however."
The subject was dropped quickly, the warlock didn't have a clue what conversation really went on and if he did panic would indeed have risen. So instead Quinn is blissfully unaware of the fact Judas knows exactly where his mother is and does not have the slightest clue about the book full of information on his mother.
Samael made sure to slip a memory blocker into the tea while talking with Quinn about his mother, so the warlock could not have recalled anything even if he tried.
The tundra nodded at the statement, turning his head to seemingly look at the closed door. "Yes. The question is of what?"
There was now worry in the tundra's soft features, a look which could only mean intense thought. The captain's habits were odd, hard to analyze sometimes, but very odd.
Quinn is very aware the captain has been refusing the offers from Samael, whenever the tundra himself offered the answer was the same. Whatever the captain was hiding, it was a secret which he did not wish for anyone to know.
"Both of us have offered to see what might be the cause, but he refuses. The clothing he wears never leaves his frame, whatever he is hiding.." The tundra sighed and shook his head, taking an unexpected turn as they walked through the halls. "Whatever he does not want to be found is on him... Or perhaps in him."

I love monstery kids, so most of them are monsters of some type. :P
yeah, myrddin has his weaknesses. like, I have a monster kid who is actually a species meant to predate dragons. so she's of course very physically powerful, but not so much magically.
so, if she and myrddin were to fight, it's...kinda a toss up? like, if she gets her claws in him, he's dead. but if he gets the jump on her, he can take her out. of course, they both are aware of their own weaknesses, and so they probably would do anything but fight one another, unless forced to. lol
the one guy in this ship myrddin does NOT wanna fight is cronus, because frankly he's got a slim chance of surviving it unless he can get away quickly enough.
(cronus and kage might get along actually, lol)
tbh dude I'll give 'em to you for free if you want him. I just don't wanna exalt a three year old kid with a good hatch date.
"He did not very much," Myrddin assures him. "Most of the conversation was in gestures and silence." He chuckles softly. "I do not think I am friendly enough with him to 'not allow' him to do anything he wishes without losing a hand to frostbite."
Quinn hunkers slightly in concern, making himself smaller, and Myrddin lays a wing over him again. "That is what I mean," he sighs. "The very fact of what he's become...it frightens him, I think." He keeps his voice quiet and gentle, so as not to distress Quinn further. It isn't a new phenomena, he thinks. Myrddin's former student, too, fears the blood in his veins, ironically enough also blood made of ice.
There is little to do but to try to show them the lack of monstrosity of what they are...nearly impossible when you are, in fact, a monster.
He sighs, thinking. It's purely practical; he cares nothing one way or another for Judas. Respects him, yes, and has a certain understanding with him. But personally, he is not invested in the skydancer's health.
But Quinn is. And for Quinn, he focuses his thoughts on how to ease the burdens of this group, as well as he could.

Oh man I know what you mean. Cronus has that relationship with basically everyone else. If they were to fight it would completely depend on who got first hit.
But Cronus has a lot of respect for the other inhabitants so he wouldn't harm them. Or well, fatally wound them. Harm them? Maybe. Kill them? No.
Pfft yeahh, and Cronus is pretty crafty so it would be a bad fight. I mean he won't do anything now since Quinn is happy again but like make the tundra upset and myrddin will have to answer to the group.
Hgnn I would love him :oo
"Good." There was a bit of relief on the man's face, but there was still deep worry. The other inhabitants were working through their problems, learning ways to cope and grow stronger, but Judas.. He remained in his quarters with the only things he could actually touch. "You have a point.. I'll have a talk with him later.."
The tundra's thoughts shifted, focusing on how he could get the skydancer to stop speaking until they could figure out how to ease the pain. The statement causes pause, brows furrowing in response.
".. That makes sense.. Judas only has memories of how he once was as he continues to cling he see's the faults." More questions arose from the realization, but those would have to be discussed with Samael, for the toxin filled man knew far more about the inhabitants than Myrddin did.
Silence now filled the corridors, the warlock was far to busy in his thoughts to even manage a smile let alone talk. Determination had set in, with each new idea he weighed the pros and cons then usually scrapped it.
They were so preoccupied in fact they didn't notice the door in front of them until they ran into it. A goofy grin slid onto their features as he massaged his snout.
"Ah. Here we are, I wish I would've noticed sooner, that could've spared me a bit of the embarrassment."

I mean, same first hit rule applies for myrddin in that case. but he's not real pleased with his chances, so he'd just. rather not have to try for that first hit at all. lol
he doesn't show fear because he's just too curious to fear interesting beings; that doesn't mean he isn't aware that some of them could legitimately kill him.
that and frankly half the reason he's inside his head is because he's at OPM levels of not caring about things
Myrddin bites his lips to keep from laughing aloud, but it's plain that he's very, very amused. He gently takes Quinn's face in his hands and presses a kiss to his nose.
"Poor thing," he coos, mostly teasing, his grin breaking out despite his attempts.
He lets go as they enter the quarters, and he shakes his feathers a bit, trying to rid himself of the goosebumps on his skin. It isn't warm here, per se, but it's definitely warmer than in the captain's quarters.

I JUST NOTICED YOU SENT ME GEMS AND HMBNX,A,JN ,J. THANK YOU SO MUCH
Pfft that's how a lot of my kids are. They would rather not fight if the chances are not heavily in their favor. Except for Cronus, then again he doesn't care about the odds, he just wants dinner.
Samael can be that curious but he barely reaches those levels anymore. He usually just "I can touch you and kill you, so before I do that tell me about this."
The tundra chuckles, stealing a quick kiss from the other. Their face was fine now, a little heated and blushing, but perfectly fine.
"Mm thank you for kissing me and making me feel better." Quinn snorted, then started laughing loudly as he entered the room. It seemed to be an empty cabin, merely a bed and no personal objects.
But, with a wave of his hand the illusion vanishes and warmth seeps into the air. Pools of warm water sit within carved holes in the ground, steam rising from them.
"I figured after experiencing the frozen captain's quarters you might enjoy a nice soak." There was a chuckle and he pointed to the hat, "However, the hat stays out of the baths." Another laugh burst from him, he playfully nudged at Myrddin's side.

cronus is a darling and I frankly love him, I'mma be honest. he's a good feral boi.
by the by, I have a breeding project (that I only just remembered going into the back of my lair lol whoops) I'm trying to do that I need an ice nest for, could I ask pretty please if I could borrow one?
honestly I do think samael and myrddin could form quite the...uh, not exactly friendship, per se. but respectful frenemy type of relationship. if they actually talked/squabbled a little while.
Myrddin sighs in pleasure at the warmth, sitting for a moment to just enjoy it. He glances over his shoulder at Quinn, eyes twinkling with mischief.
"What makes you think I'm getting in the baths with any of these robes? They're expensive silk, you know." He chortles when Quinn's ears start to darken, rubbing his head against him. "You know, there's places where a lack of apparel is actually considered obscene. Can you imagine?"
He trots about, exploring the area with fluffed feathers. Oh yes, this is a lovely natural hotspring. It seems to be confined in a rocky cave area that the ship was either built out to contain or broken open around during the crash. Either way, it's beautiful and warm, and he happily feels the warmth of the water with his claws.
"You'll join me?" he asks Quinn. Some tundras hate being in water, since it bogs their fur down so badly and takes so long to dry. But, since coatls too can get unpleasantly waterlogged, he has a solution for that. "I can help you dry, if that is a concern."

I love Cronus with all my heart honestly. I call him ugly but I don't think i could ever have the heart to sell him. He's just too much my pretty feral bab.
Yeah send them over, I love hosting peoples dergs. Heh I almost never breed so I enjoy having a couple to occupy that otherwise empty tab. <3
Yeah, they totally could become frenemies. Good ones at that
The comments caused Quinn to chuckle loudly as he wandered about the room with a pleasant hum. These pools were quite the nice addition to the otherwise frigid ship.
Gently he removed the heavy beads and amulet he wore around his neck, placing them on one of the few benches spread around the area. Each had a couple neatly stacked towels placed on them, it was quite evident from the number of towels missing from the benches this place was well used.
Then came the heavy earings, gently resting besides the charms. It was odd whenever he bathed or came here to relax, feeling lighter than usual was always a bit of a funny feeling.
Quietly he slipped out of the rest of his clothing without a sound, listening to the coatl wander around the natural springs. Whenever the question was stated a snort was heard, and the tundra slid into the pool nearest him.
"The real question is, will you join me?" He asked with a giggle. The only clothing that remained was the cover which kept the hollows from showing. Quinn never seemed to rid it from himself, much to self conscious.
"I love the water, or well do now. Before I would get horribly soaked, but a spell always seems to turn the tables doesn't it?" Relief slipped into those aching bones, body relaxing as the warm water did wonders with his muscles.
