Kodi whined softly at the movement and blinked a few times trying to clear his blurred vision. "Oliver?" He tightened his hold on the boy without thinking and leaned his head back to look at him. "What's wrong?"

Oliver shuddered, whimpering and looking up at Kodi. He was clearly guilty for disturbing his beauty sleep. He took a shaky, deep breath as he was held tighter. He could barely manage to get the images from his nightmare out of his head. He frowned just before burying his face in Kodi's chest.
"I-I had a nightmare," he stuttered, sighing. "I h-had to s... see my mum d-d-die again... but everything was s... scarier..." As he spoke, Ollie felt like a smaller child running to his mommy's room and crying in her embrace. He had to quickly collect himself, or he would start sobbing uncontrollably. "...I'm fine, though," he whispered unconvincingly, his voice muffled while his face was still hidden in Kodi's chest. "I-I'll be okay... I'm sorry to have woken you up..."

Kodi stayed silent as he listened to the other boy spoke, but his jaw clenched and he growled softly at the explanation. Smelling the fear that clung to his partner he shifted slightly to pull Oliver tighter to his chest.
"Tell me all of it. You're not okay, I can smell the fear and sorrow coming off of you in waves. I won't judge you Oliver, you can tell me everything." Blushing slightly he slowly started rubbing the other boys back and brushed one hand through his hair.

Oliver could hear a low growl, and before he knew it, he could feel himself being pulled even closer than before. His eyes widened a little, thin teardrops brimming in them. He felt his throat tighten and clench. Most of all, a weak feeling swept across him. What was he doing, acting like a little kid? He wasn't a kid.
Well, actually, he was.
Even with all the time that had passed, he knew that he wasn't an adult. His thoughts shifted once Kodi spoke again. It was interesting to hear that he could smell Ollie's emotions. A small part of him wanted to inquire more about it, but the larger part was still processing the nightmare he had just had to endure. "...I'm not," he admitted quietly. He leaned his head back to look up into his partner's eyes. He felt a hand travel down his back and another through his hair.
Taking a few deep breaths, he managed to lower his current psyche just enough to be able to speak lengthy, full sentences. "I will tell you everything," he reassured softly, his bottom lip trembling. He felt the wrenching sensation of tears threatening to form in his eyes. "I will because I trust you..."
Pause.
"I was at a school. I was standing there, as a little kid, with a big dumb grin. I took a few steps, and then I ended up in the alleyway. Not an alleyway; the alleyway. I saw myself lying there, completely motionless. I could hear the sounds of other kids laughing, several shoes colliding with a single body... screams and cries and pleas all coming from me. Blood pooled from my scraped knees, and I could almost taste it flowing from my mouth. My eyes were partially open, but there was little behind them. The only thing I could see back there was pain.
"After that, a hospital. I was in a bed, and I could see myself unconscious there. My mum and papa were talking loudly at the doctors treating me, and later, papa was nearly screaming on the phone... my rib was broken. Very close to puncturing one of my lungs. True event. I would not be in your arms right now... if that had occurred. My knees... scarred. Forever.
"I could feel all the pain of the procedures I had done on me before I was in another room. It... it was my mum. She didn't look like the energetic, kindly woman I knew. She was sick, dying... dying without a single chance of living to see the sun rise above the horizon. I-I was there, crying and screaming, pleading with her... I didn't want her to leave me... but she told me that she wouldn't leave. I didn't understand what she actually meant... so when I heard the flat-line... I felt... betrayed. In my mind, she hadn't stayed like she promised. She was gone... and I couldn't stop it from happening... I couldn't..."
Now he was tearing up as he prepared to come to the worst part of it all. "...And then I was here," he managed to choke out. "I missed the parts where I lashed out at those people... hurt them, gave them every reason to hurt me... b-b-but... then I saw you... on the g-ground... and I ran towards your body, I was in tears and crying and screaming... I was holding... you... and you... you... y-y-y-you were..."
Oliver tried to form his next words in the same quiet, meek tone he had been speaking in the entire time, but he let it all slip. "You were dead!" he wailed loudly, holding Kodi as tightly as possible. "Cold! Dead! Gone! And I couldn't do a single f**king thing about it!! I LOST YOU, KODI!! YOU WERE GONE, AND I COULDN'T F**KING BRING YOU BACK!!!"
The boy shoved his face in Kodi's shoulder, his body spasming as uncontrollable sobs clawed their way out of his throat. Bird-like shrieks of despair occasionally joined them. Eventually, he was speaking with trouble through each painful sob. "I'm so sorry, I'm so f**king sorry, I don't want you to die, I don't..."

(Sob story that even got a cold-heartless person like me to cry a bit....Holy crap I applaud your writing. Have you ever considered writing Love/tragic stories for a blog before?)
Kodi had stayed silent during the story, afraid if he spoke he'd not hear all of it. Throughout the beginning he'd been growling, deep and harsh growls coming from him at hearing what was done to his companion.
His growling turned to half whines at the end of the story. Hearing that he had died himself caused him to tighten his hold further on Oliver, probably enough to leave bruises on any normal person.
"I am never leaving you. Oliver, even if I died I would always be with your in heart, and hell if I believed in the afterlife I'd haunt your *** for ever thinking I'd leave the best thing to happen in my life." He spoke in a soft but firm voice.
He hesitated slightly, but leaned his head on Oliver's and held the other boy like a small child. "You won't lose me, nor do I intend to lose you. We will get out of this god forsaken hell house, and live so far away from civilization that no one will ever find us. We'll never be in danger again. I promise you. I. . ."
He stopped and hesitated for a moment, closing his eyes and drawing in a deep breath. "You have my heart and soul Oliver. You're my mate. . .I know you are, and I'd do anything to protect you from harm, and I will never hurt you."

((Thanks! I've actually never considered that before, I'll want to try it out over the summer after school ends momentarily :D))
In... out...
Oliver struggled to breathe, sobbing with his face buried deep in Kodi's shoulder. He clung tightly to his partner, scared to let go. He didn't know what would happen if he let go. His face became wet with tears, streams of them running down his cheeks and staining Kodi's shirt. The images in his mind kept taunting him, holding the ones who were close to him over him like bait.
He tried to prevent more sobs from coming out as he heard a comforting voice. Upon hearing his first words, the noise coming from him ceased. His breath hitched for a moment. I am never leaving you. Just hearing that was enough for him, but he wanted to hear more. He loved hearing that voice, especially when it was soft.
He laughed shakily after Kodi swore that he would haunt him forever if he thought he would be alone if he died. He was fine with the incredibly tight hold Kodi had on him. He had a feeling that if he wasn't only half-human, bruises would be forming on his body. Heck, they very well could be, but he didn't seem to care. He would rather have that than nothing at all. The thought of being all alone haunted him, infused within his demons.
He couldn't say anything as he felt Kodi's head against his. He leaned into the other's embrace, hearing a hiccup coming out of him in place of a sob. A shaky smile formed on his face as he interpreted exactly what the other boy meant, his bottom lip trembling fiercely. He focused on trying to stop his body from spasming in Kodi's embrace. "...T... Thank y-you..." he whispered, taking a deep breath and opening his eyes to look into the other boy's eyes. He fixed his shaky smile into a child-like one. A big dumb grin.
"Y-You're mine t-t-too... you h-have my heart... a-and my soul... I love you... I love you with everything I have... and more..."

((Cool, let me know if you decide to, my partner is bugging me bout finding new authors for the summer months.))
Kodi smiled at the words though he felt his heart break at seeing the tears pooled in Oliver's eyes. Unable to find anything else to say, he leaned down to kiss the smaller boy. Moving one hand to the back of his neck, he held the boys head in place.
Not wishing to be gentle at the moment, Kodi kissed him passionately and almost with an animal like ferocity as if he were claiming Oliver in some way. After a few minutes he leaned back, panting slightly and starring down at the boy, half wondering if his actions had helped in proving how much he cared for the boy in his arms, or if he'd unintentionally made Oliver's crying worse.

Oliver continued staring up into Kodi's eyes, his gaze traveling through them and searching for all the comfort he could hold close to himself. A strange feeling developed in his mind. It wasn't nervousness or bashfulness, like usual. It didn't turn his cheeks red at first; his crying and sobbing had already taken care of that. He was continuing to put effort into controlling his breathing, only focusing on the other boy and blocking out every memory tormenting his mind.
He wanted to say something, and he opened his mouth to do so... right before Kodi closed in on him and kissed him. He couldn't say he had no way of seeing that coming, but it was something he didn't even know he needed at the moment. His eyelids closed partially as he felt a warm hand cup around the back of his neck, successfully holding his head in place.
He was a bit startled - though, it was easier to hide than he thought - as the kiss immediately grew passionate, the opposite of gentle. However, he managed to grow accustomed to it and fell into the rhythm as well. His fingers twitched before they lightly ran up and down the other boy's back, leaning into the fiery, prolonged kiss. He closed his eyes and focused on the warm feeling spreading from his lips to his entire body. He could almost see and hear the glowing fireworks going off in his head.
After a few minutes, he opened his eyes to see Kodi leaning back, taking his lips off of his own. He let out a soft sigh, the glimmer in his forest-green eyes equally soft. He looked a little drowsy, as if the kiss had started to lull him to sleep. He considered that to be a good thing. He slowly let a smile etch itself onto his face. "Kodi..." he purred, leaning in and planting a brief kiss on the other boy's jawline, pulling back to allow himself to become lost in his eyes.
Tears were no longer dripping from his eyes, or even forming. He found himself actually wanting more of the warmth Kodi had given him before pulling away, even though he too was panting a little.

He smiled at feeling Oliver kiss his jaw and found himself leaning back. Looking down on him his smile grew wider, "I love you Oliver. . ." Half terrified of the response he'd receive, he felt relieved to have told the boy in his arms how he truly felt.
Lightly tangling his fingers in the back of Oliver's hair and leaned his head down to put their heads together, just barely touching and closed his eyes. "I never knew I needed someone in my life till I met you. . .I didn't know what I was missing by not having love in my life. . .and now. . .I pray to a god I don't believe in that you'll never leave me. Because if you did, I'd truly know what a broken heart feels like."

I love you Oliver...
Those words resounded happily in Oliver's mind as their eyes remained connected. He felt his smile grow, his forest-green eyes carrying a brilliant shine. The warmest feeling kept blossoming, and the fireworks kept going off. There was no such thing as being too happy, now was there? He was so happy to hear those words come out of Kodi, who had never been given this much love up until this point.
The boy began crying tears of happiness, though it was silent. He felt fingers tangling in the back of his hair as their heads were put together. He closed his eyes just as Kodi did, listening. By the end, his smile became calm, for his cheeks would start hurting if it grew as much as it could grow. He would reserve those for when Kodi could see them.
"I'll never leave you," he whispered affectionately. "Never. There is nothing in this world that would ever tempt me to leave. Ever. I am so grateful and happy to be called your lover, Kodi... and I am so grateful and happy to know that you love me too..." He moved his hand to the back of Kodi's hair, careful not to touch his wolfish ears.
