Soulbound ~
A world in ruin. A world of betrayal that reeks of past mistakes. How did history backtrack so far? How did the once advanced and powerful supercontinent crumble and erode into the ground? It’s a sad story, but it is one that has yet to have an ending.
Humans are pitiful, weak creatures when you compare them to the powerful Gods that live among them, such as Dragons and Demons (There are subspecies that share about the same power level as Humans, but that will be gotten to later). Creatures that inhabit the same world as humans could have powers beyond their imagining… but, Humans had more control over the world than every other species combined. With fierce determination and perseverance, humans fought wars and won, claiming land in the world and slowly building up empires. They were an extremely violent force at first, but eventually learned to be wise with their choices and make peace treaties with other species. The entire world was shared by all species and, even if there were minuscule wars or crimes committed here and there, it was peaceful. . .
. . . until now. Nature was created by a Spirit known as Lumen. This a-gender creature was millions of years old, so much so that nobody on the face of the planet even remembered their name… or their existence. Lumen shaped the world and created every creature on the planet with their own paws. However… this spirit has been asleep for millennia, resting amongst the roots of the largest tree in the universe. This tree was at the center of everything, it’s roots digging farther into the earth than anything else. However, this spirit was awoken from their slumber when the tree they had rested with had finally died. It’s death was accidental, but was caused by a Dragon that had stepped out of line. Lumen had hibernated because they had wished for their world to flourish after their reign, but Lumen was infuriated. What they saw was a mess; Lumen believed all creatures shouldn’t mix in such a way. Not to mention, this mixture meant ALL magic was gone. After all, if magical species mate with non-magical species, it tends to lead to non-magical children. Magic was dwindling more than ever, and that was his favorite PART of the world! So, in retaliation, they destroyed everything. Lumen didn’t burn everything or cause an apocalypse… They sprouted nature over everything man-made. Cities crumbled under the roots of trees and the greenery that swallowed up their houses. Vines choked out the life that previously lived there, to replace it with a reign of non-sentient nature that would do what Lumen wanted without question. Chaos ensued, proving even chaos could come from a Spirit of LIFE.
But, there were still a few people that survived. And, these people in particular, were given a gift unlike any other.. one that they had yet to learn of. Whether part demon or part satyr, or not even that inhuman.. every species had a different type of magic. While that was deeply suppressed, there was one thing that could trigger it to be revived… Familiars. The Subspecies of all magical creatures, as briefly mentioned.
Familiars existed even longer than humans. These creatures are solely made to make contracts with other creatures. They bind their souls with this creature and, in return, can unlock the magic of the creature they bonded with. However, this ability only came once Lumen remodeled the world. The world’s metamorphosis not only gave the ability for a Familiar to unlock a creature’s magic, but gave remaining pieces of the past world magical abilities.
Whether creatures are aware of the Spirit or the artifacts, their goals are either fueled by the need to survive or the thirst for power from artifacts. How will this story end? Will everything slowly die and leave Lumen alone with his nature? Will Lumen be murdered? Or… will the artifacts be used to destroy the world and remodel it in a way the user wishes? The possibilities are endless.

Rules:
-No Godmodding (Voicing other players) without their consent.
-Do not make your character too Overpowered. I’ll be the judge of whether or not your character’s Strengths and Weaknesses balance out, but at least TRY to make your character fair. Every character should be as strong as the other, even if in different ways.
-LBGTQ+ Characters are allowed and supported!
-Romance is also supported, as long as you keep it PG-13
-We plan on FINISHING this Role-play. Don’t join if you’re unsure if you will finish it with us. If you think you’ll lose interest or have time restraints, don’t join.
-Preferably, have a Discord account or be willing to create one if you join. That way, you can join the Discord OOC chat, which will be easier to communicate through than with a Flightrising OOC thread.
-When you post, it must be long. At least 2 paragraphs, if not more.
-You can make 1-2 characters.
-Killing off characters is awesome. Though, if you join and decide to leave anyway (Dude I wrote earlier not to do this, so… I don’t expect many people to do this :/), your character will probably be murdered.
-You can choose to keep your history a surprise and have it be revealed later in the story, but make sure to actually WRITE one ahead of time, even if you don’t tell us it. That way, I can make sure you aren’t a cheapskate later on :D
-Have fun! Don’t take anything personally <3
- If you don't post for 3 or more days, I am allowed to kill off your character.. Sorry.

Bio rules and Template ~
You must own the Familiar you choose to be Soulbound to. You can be literally any Species imaginable but, depending on what you choose, it will affect your Magic as well as your appearance. Your magic that you have acquired must not only relate to what Familiar you choose, but it should also relate to what SPECIES you decide to be. Also, the species you are does not have to b e in Flightrising lore. It can be in and out of it… just get creative with that! In fact, you can even be a hybrid specimen. But don’t do some nonsense like “A half angel half demon half unicorn half Dragon princess” or something. Also, your age can be between 15 to 30. Lastly, your magic is expressed through an INSTRUMENTAL WEAPON. Choose which one you use based on your familiar and magic. For example, a very elegant magic-user might play something more elegant, like a violin or something.
