Though this Earth was different than the one we all know. Magic was a proven force with many uses and intricacies. Nearly anything was possible and as the human race continued, those without supernatural skills learned to get by and thrive without magic, bringing the world into something comparable to the modern day. When the ancient magic was fused with this new technology, the possibilities for humanity became nearly limitless, but then disaster struck. No one knows exactly what happened, but much of the world fell to pieces, destroyed. The continents shifted, most land masses smashing together, the landscape changed rapidly. An odd surge, like an exploding super volcano, ripped through everything. Before, mythical beings were just that, mythical. Now organisms everywhere are mutating and transforming. Humans who once had powers lost all their abilities and now it seems that only these mutants can wield any sort of magic, though it's more limited than before. Many of the mutants also seemed to lose their humanity however, primarily driven by instinct. Those who retained everything after mutating tended to congregate in the one part of the world that was left intact, the advanced capital city. They work to try and restore the world while the rest has largely fallen into chaos in the wastelands that stretch for miles. That wasn't the end of it, though. The largest mystery is the portal that opened on the other side of the planet, aligned exactly with the capital city. The portal can open anywhere in a large radius and does so randomly, ungracefully dropping someone from another dimension. They come from all over the multiverse, and are just as random as the portal opening to begin with. These strangers aren't always welcomed. The area containing the portal is being constantly watched by the villages surrounding it. One is comprised entirely of malicious mutants, attempting to destroy anyone who comes trough the portal. Another village seeks to use these strangers to their advantage, trying to make the confused strangers work their failing farms and serve their leaders. On the upside, the third village wants to learn from them, though they won't let anyone leave once they've been welcomed in. A new camp has popped up along the border, comprised of these inter-dimensional travelers, trying to figure out what's going on and get back home. They have to hide from the villages and fend them off when they attack. Little do they know they are the key to fixing the world.[/center]

Unfortunately, Damien isn't exactly stable and these attitudes can change on a dime. [b]Backstory:[/b] Damien does not recall his childhood at all, with most of his 'solid' memories beginning when he was teenager. He lived in one of the cheapest apartments he could find, not having much of anything on hand at any given time. He met Mortimer by chance and the two of them felt an inexplicable connection which strengthened and became more clear over time. Damien moved in with him and thanks to his connections in the underground, got Damien the job he'd always wanted. Well, as close as he could get given his unstable condition. Learning quickly, he became one of the many unlicensed surgeons working in secret all across the island. Eventually, they pooled enough money together to move into an actual house. Things were going great, but it didn't last. He can't remember what happened that night, but Mortimer vanished and Damien came to believe that he was dead. He tried to go on, but was soon fired. With no one to turn to, Damien was desperate as everything worsened until he gave in. He applied and was accepted as a repo man, a legal assassin. [b]Powers / Abilities / Skills:[/b] Thanks to several augmentations, Damien is stronger than he appears, has incredible vision in his right eye, and can sustain more physical damage than most. He is a doctor, though he doesn't get the chance to actually help people anymore, much to his dismay. [b]Extra:[/b] He is an insomniac living off tea. He also has DID, though is only aware of one alter, Venni, who he claims speaks to him on a regular basis. He knows Venni is dangerous and tries to keep him contained, even though it doesn't work. He never knew his father and his death when Mortimer was 6 was when things went downhill. It was a slow and painful fall for everyone and by 16 he was on his own as the rest of his family met the same fate. He swore revenge and while he never achieved his goal of destroying GeneCo, he's settled for the hectic and incredibly risky life of a necromerchant. Damien was the first person he ever really trusted outside of his family and was devastated when he vanished. Mortimer too thought his friend was dead and would rather forget it even happened. Even if it wasn't his fault, at least he wouldn't carry the looming guilt with him. [b]Powers / Abilities / Skills:[/b] Despite his flashy appearance, Mortimer is great at hiding and sneaking around. He still makes an effort to be proper, like he was taught, and is friendly to those who make a good first impression. [b]Backstory:[/b] Maverick was a prince, destined to take his father's place as chief over one of the villages near the portal. He was treated like royalty and typically given whatever he desired. No was rarely an answer he received and he never had much of any responsibilities. He doesn't remember when the disasters began, but he witnessed several villagers being banished because they had mutated. He was taught that all mutants were inherently vicious and must be avoided if not destroyed. Maybe it was a cruel act of nature, maybe it was just chance, but whatever the case, one day, Maverick began changing. He tried to hide it, but when his budding wings were discovered, he was banished like the rest. Angered and rejected by his own family, Maverick attempted to burn the village down, but it failed and he was chased away, into the wastelands. He's been wandering ever since, a distaste for humans following him everywhere. Now his body has finally settled and he's figured out the extent of his shifting abilities. He's also discovered the camp by the portal and plans to see if they'll help him. [b]Powers (If mutant):[/b] Can shift partially for fully into one of five birds, a peregrine falcon, northern white faced owl, Andean condor, bearded vulture, or peacock. Partial shifting gives him the wings, tail, feathers, and eyes of the bird. Full shifting allows him to turn into a human sized version of that bird. While he most often shifts at will, strong emotions can make him take on a particular form. He hides any sort of anger and is a pacifist. He does not wish to anger anyone and is stoic, though unfortunately it causes him to tend to come off as uncaring. He's also still adjusting to not having any sort of powers and so can't be as distant as he used to be, and must adjust to being more upfront. [b]Backstory:[/b] Arthur has always lived in the capital city and had been a master of Chi since he was young. Over the years he harnessed his abilities to try and help people as he could redirect and transform the energies all around them. When the disaster struck, he found himself without any connection to the energies he'd learned to control and has yet to regain it. In an attempt to try and find answers, he began researching the anomalies and now houses several mutated animals. He seeks to learn from them, try and find the cause of these changes, and possibly how to change them back. While most researching mutants are focused on humans, Arthur believes that the animals may hold answers as well. He's also taken to trying to train them and trying to effectively communicate. This has had mixed results and most of his scars have to do with maulings. [b]Extra:[/b] He actually has managed to 'tame' one of these mutant animals, a nightmare he named Sadze. @Windshear @Eldarowability Sure thing. At this time, I'm allowing a maximum of ten total players, though that is certainly subject to change. It all depends on how things go and what I believe I can handle. You may have as many characters as you'd like and add more at any time, just be sure to submit a form.

@avespanthera There is no limit to how many characters one user can play. Just don't overwhelm yourself. Plus, I'm allowing new characters to be added at any point.

Pure white skin like the the snow, layered pure white shoulder lengthed hair that matches his skin, pale peach colored eyes, pale horns that curve back and towards his pointy ears, has red markings all over his body, natural ruby red lips, rather skinny not overly muscular, sharp facial features, almost feminine looking if he didn’t go around shirtless, has pale brown pants on (not a big fan of them he rather be nude) he wears no shoes and is barefoot wherever he goes.

Personality: He is very shy and very quite almost mute, when he speaks it’s a whisper and he tends to stutter, he’s not very brave and likes to hide rather than be the hero, he’s nervous and some people compare him to a school girl with how nervous he is, but he is a sweet heart, he likes helping people and is nice to everyone whether they are human or not, he can be a bit of a cry baby, though on the very rare occasion that he gets angry he can be very cruel emotionally and tends to hit people where it really hurts.

Backstory: Mich doesn’t remember much from before then incident, not his name, birthday, likes, or dislikes, nothing. But he retained a few things, he seemed to have kept some of his humanity but not entirely, while he knew right from wrong his instincts drove most of his actions though he wasn’t like the other mutants he found, they were animals they wanted nothing but to kill, eat, and survive. Mich wasn’t like that he was terrified, hungry, and wanted to help others when he saw they needed it. He didn’t know he had powers till he was attacked by a mutant which caused him to instinctively use them which lead him to find out he could control plants.

During his wondering he stumbled upon the capital city, at first they tried to attack him but once they realized that he wasn’t a threat and actually spoke to them and told them he wasn’t like the other mutants they allowed him in. He didn’t know what else to do so he went with them in hopes he wouldn’t be chased anymore by mutants or mean humans. This is also where he gained a name from one of the residents in the city

Powers (If mutant): controls plants, the speed of which they grow and how big they grow.

Extra: He has excellent hearing, his eye sight isn’t great it’s good enough for every day but people are nothing more than a outlined fog of black and white (he’s colorblind and glasses do not help) he gained a scar on his thigh when another mutant attacked him which caused him to fear other mutants (though he still tries to help them)

Personality: she is a very bubbly person, always kind and patient with everyone she hasn’t a long temper and is considered to be a flower child, she loves her brother dearly and can be very protective of her brother, while she is kind she does not trust us as easily as her brother, if anything she has no trust in anyone except her brother. She isn’t shy and speaks her mind.

Backstory: When everything happened she was with her twin brother Mich but got separated soon after, she had remember her humanity everything except for her name and pieces of her past like parents and friends, she and her brother were separated when they were attacked by another mutant and they had to split in order to survive. She immediately ran to the capital city once she heard about it from others which she was quickly accepted into.

A month later her brother showed up though he seemed to not remember her clearly, she had to start from the beginning with him, she had to regain his trust all over again and is still doing so.

Powers (If mutant): she can read the emotions around her, has very mild effect on them able to somewhat manipulate them.

Extra: she is the twin sister of Mich, she has bad hearing everything seems to be heard under water, but her eye sight is incredible
