Starvation sat silently within the mahogany carriage, listening to the wheels creak as the wolves that pulled the carriage snarled and yipped. The king was fond of wolves, especially dire wolves, which were half his size, if not bigger. It was mid-day, but he kept the silk curtains drawn, the gold glowing softly with light. He lay upon plush pillows of silk, satin blankets and rich furs. There were no seats within the carriage, for it was his personal one, thus it was only a bed. It was nice to sleep during long travels.
But gods did not sleep, it was physically impossible. Starvation could only pretend to sleep or drift so far into his mind to make it feel like he was experiencing sleep. Some days he would wonder what it was like to really feel such bliss. Curiously, the Imperial pulled the curtain to his right aside. His red eyes glimmered in the sunlight and the few commoners who caught his gaze would stop and stare. Dropping the curtain, Starvation pulled away, reaching up and rapping the roof with his knuckles. There was a crack of the whip and the carriage came to a halt. Sliding the left glass window open, Starvation pulled three strings of gold from a chest tucked in the corner and handed it to the outstretched paw of one of his footmen. "Keep vigilant," He command, the precise words rolling smoothly from his tongue. "Let my seer guide you. She will know which slave to choose."
Closing the window and curtain, the Imperial slid forwards, a satisfied guttural hiss bubbling up in the back of his throat. His long body rested against the warm wood of the cabin as he buried his face in black mink fur. He thought about how it was a miracle that he had not lost his mind to boredom. But for Starvation, the kingdom he had built was his own personal world and the dragons within proved to be interesting characters. Soon he would grow tired of this and move on, experience different lives until either death claims him or the world disappears. But for now, the king was enjoying his successful reign, but then again, a rebellion would be a rather excitable turn of events.

Seht walked beneath the protective wing of Auteum. The female Guardian was quite large and easily towered over her, which proved useful in clearing a way through the busy market streets. Her eyes darkened. "We're close." But something did not bode well and Auteum could sense the Pearlcatcher's discomfort. The Guardian's sense heightened and she glared at anyone who ventured too close. She would be ready to draw her sword if need be.

It was midday and the large city was bustling with movement, dragons going to and fro between buildings and stalls, conducting whatever business it was that they had to undertake at the present time. The air was filled with the sounds of voices, merchants calling out about their wares, commoners talking amongst themselves, poets reading on corners. Music weaved in amongst everything, the occasional busker nestled in a niche, hoping to get a couple extra coins for their efforts.
Anders was being lead along slowly, a rough rope collar around his neck, a length of rope leading from it to the paw of his current Master, the large Imperial making his way through the crowds of people, the crowd seeming to part either side of him with ease. Perhaps it was his intimidating look, or perhaps they just knew not to get in this dragon's way. Either way Anders didn't really care, he simply followed along behind him, his head lowered towards the ground. He wasn't quite sure why he was being dragged along out into the city, normally he wouldn't be allowed outside the Master's house, though he had a fair idea considering the area of the city they were nearing.
A sense of dread filled him as they entered the area, his eyes darting around underneath the dark sash over his eyes, though they were unseeing he could 'see' using the hidden energies of the world, and this place had a lot of bad energy about it. It wasn't frowned upon to have slaves, they did after all keep things moving and working, though those who partook in it were more on the toxic side than not. His ears flattened back across his head and he kept close to his Master, a heavy breath escaping his lips. They moved in amongst others, next to an old wooden stand, and the large plague Imperial pushed Anders into view, getting him to sit in a submissive manner. The tundra willingly obliged and sat, not wanting to receive punishment for misbehaving, though his nerves were all on edge, he felt jumpy and tense. He quietly lowered his head, keeping it down as he listened to everything going on around him, his senses picking up on all the energies in the area. He heard his Master beginning to call out, advertising to others and searching for someone who could possibly want him.

Auteum trudged along the market streets begrudgingly. By the occasional shiver in the Pearlcatcher's body, she could tell they were growing closer. She couldn't understand why Seht held so much excitement for these kinds of trips, but then again, sometimes it was nice to push another around. Snorting, she shoved a large Ridgeback aside with a deep growl. It wasn't like she would be able to even talk to the new slave. Apparently, if she had heard correctly, he would be her masters personal slave. Like he didn't already have enough of those.
Seht's eyes sharpened, gaze like that of an eagle as she caught sight of the Tundra standing upon the wooden stand. "There he is..." She murmured, pointing with one claw. Auteum looked unimpressed. "That one is different. Buy him." She peered up at the large Guardian, whom seemed to hesitate. Huffing, she held up all three ropes of the gold. "He shouldn't be much."
Auteum snorted. "Look at him. How will he serve our master? He is like a large cat, but with just wings. So puny..."
"He is touched." Seht held the ropes higher, insisting that the Guardian do as she was told. "If need be, I will teach him. Besides, he is a hardworking slave. I see it in him. He'll serve well." Begrudgingly, Auteum took the three ropes and approached the stands, pushing her way through the other dragons admiring the puny slave.
"I'll buy him." She announced. A few dragons stifled some laughs, but they fell silent quickly under her glare. Although the Imperial was much larger, she stood against him as an equal, her chest puffed out intimidatingly. "How much?" Auteum wasn't really up for bartering and hoped the ropes she had were enough to satisfy the other dragon. However, it wouldn't really matter, for Seht probably had a couple more ropes on her anyways. But five ropes were usually spent on warriors who served well.

Anders kept his head down, shifting lightly in his place as a crowd had gathered around him, unused to so many staring at him. He could feel their stares and it made his fur stand slightly on end as his skin crawled, he wasn't so sure why he was upset about all of this, he should've been used to it by now, but he sensed a couple presences amongst the crowd that stood out in terms of what he was used to. But he kept his head down, even as there was a commotion as dragons were pushed aside by what seemed to be a large Guardian.
Eros, the Imperial standing next to him looked down on the Guardian as she approached, raising n eyebrow as he looked her over, a small thought going through his head as to why she might've wanted his slave. She certainly didn't look to be the sort that would want one like him. Though, he could sense she had money and smirked, drawing his lips back to reveal his sharp teeth, he wasn't the slightest bit intimidated by her "Well, He'll be 3 ropes of gold of course. He's a very hard-working boy, he'll do as he's told and that is worth something", the words fell from his lips, raspy and sly. His glowing red eyes looked down on her quietly as he pulled up his paw, extending it out towards her, "You won't find a better slave anywhere else". He held the rope leading to Ander's collar in his other paw, ready to give to her if she went through with the deal.
Ander's head rose in almost alarm as he heard his Master and the Guardian speaking, Eros was a very strict Master, but he didn't particularly like the feeling of this new dragon. He shifted uneasily in his spot which earned him a sharp whip across his back from his Master's tail, "N-ngh", he gritted his teeth and kept himself still.

Auteum's eyes trailed across the Tundra's body, before flickering back to the Imperial. "He better be worth something..." She muttered quietly. "Three ropes." Auteum announced, passing off the ropes to the Imperial and taking the slave's leash in her other paw. She was a bit unsettled by the fact that the deal went so smoothly, but this seller probably didn't want trouble. "Come." She commanded to the Tundra, beginning to walk away. Much to her delight, he followed quietly with no resistance. Seht let out a series of excited chitters as Auteum grabbed the leash with her maw.
The Pearlcatcher fell behind the Guardian, falling instep besides the Tundra. "Oh, you are touched... Don't worry, my master is very nice. Just do as your told and you won't invoke his wrath." This earned a snort from Auteum, who glared back with an 'Oh really?' look. Seht glowered back. "Pay no mind to her. She is always jealous whenever someone new enters the royal house." She scrabbled forwards, using the Guardian's outstretch wing as protection, leaving the Tundra behind.
They both walked in silence, the Guardian occasionally tugging on the Tundra's leash. Soon, the large carriage was to be seen. It was rather elaborate and beautiful, pleasing on weary eyes. Seht climbed the back up to the wooden cage that was roughly bigger than her. She unlocked it and swung the door open. "Get in." Auteum commanded the Tundra, nudging him forwards with her back paw. The dire wolves pulling the carriage howled, but fell silent when the driver, a black Mirror, cracked a whip over their heads.

The Imperial smirked and took the ropes, the gold clinking in his paw as he ran his fingers over them, he loved the feeling of gold changing hands, particularly gold changing into his hands. He grinned widely and bowed his head in farewell, a slight glint in his eyes as he watched the pair walk off. "Pleasure doing business with you..."
Anders walked along quitely behind the Guardian, still very wary about the whole situation. He startled slightly as the pearl catcher came up beside him, he listed to her words quietly, alarm spreading through him, "Wh-what?? The royal house?". His voice was quite deep and mellow, but it was quiet. "Wrath?!". He stumbled as the guardian tugged on his leash, taking a moment to right himself and regain his footing. He bit his lip.
As they came up upon the carriage his eyes widened, it was huge! It was so elaborately designed and well crafted there weren't many dragons in the kingdom who could afford something like that. He had a strong feeling he knew exactly who was in the carriage and it scared him. He'd never been this close to royalty before, he'd always remained at an incredible distance. The closest he had gotten was serving one of the royal guards for a night. He glanced back at the guardian as he was nudged by her, hesitating for a moment before he made his way over to the carriage, flinching at the howl of the wolves. Anders carely went up on his hind legs, his front two paws reaching up and feeling out the back of the carriage, feeling that cage above him. Yes he could 'see' with other means but that more applied to the energy of people around him and a slight spatial awareness, he was still sometimes slow in the uptake of things due to having to feel them out. It was quite obvious to the others that Anders was blind. He jumped up, dragging himself into the cage, curling up quietly in a mass of fur, trying to calm his nerves. There was a weird energy coming from somewhere and it unsettled him greatly.

"I can't believe we've bought a blind slave." Auteum growled, carelessly slamming the door to the gate shut. "He may be touched, but I know stronger touched dragons than him." Grumbling slightly, she landed heavily back on all four paws, circling around the carriage to the left window. Seht watched her go with mild annoyance, shaking her head. She scrambled up the back of the carriage and sat besides the cage on the back seat, or what she called the shelf. Reaching into her pouch on her hip, she pulled out a slice of angel cake.
"Are you hungry? Here, have the cake. I brought it in case you needed to be fed. You will eat well under our master's roof." She slipped the slice of cake between the bars, setting it right before the Tundra. "Don't be frightened. This will be a good change for you. It was a good change for me." The whip was cracked and the wolves howled, the carriage lurching forwards into motion. The loud clack of the wheels and roar of the city probably frightened the poor Tundra, so Seht began speaking, hoping that it would calm him. "When I first met my master, I was only a hatchling..."
"It was the day the great war had ended and the kingdom was celebrating. I was just a street rat and pickpocket. Back then, I did not practice magic. But he saw it in me. He wasn't king, he was just a royal of noble blood. He caught me slipping my paw in a stranger's purse, grabbed me by the scruff of my neck and lifted me into the air. While he was chiding me, his eyes shone with mirth. I didn't know what to feel before this beautiful sir. His mane was like red silk and satin, his scales the color of rich roses and blood. His stomach glittered of gold and he wore fine silks and golden jewelry. Let's just say, I was shocked from my words. He took me in. I was unwilling at first, but after I realized what he had to offer, I became his slave. My master taught me the art of magic and in turn I would serve within his house."
"Now I am his seer, but I am not very powerful. However, I can feel that soon I will be able to find my gift, like how you still have to find yours within yourself." She smiled and sat back. Seht looked around, before peering over the top of the carriage. Looking past the driver, she could see the gleam of the royal gates and the large castle. "We're here! It will be awhile before you can officially meet your new master. You need some proper attire first!"

The slam of the cage door startled the Tundra even more and he curled up tighter in the small space, feeling the Guardian's distaste for him rolling off her in waves. He didn't mean to be this way, but he was born blind, it was something he couldn't help and he didn't know any better. He'd just learned to adapt to his situation. He listened as the Pearl Catcher scrambled up beside him and relaxed a little, she at least seemed to be quite nice compared to the other and seemed to have his well-being in mind a little more.
Anders smelt the cake before it was even offered to him, his ears perking up slightly as he sniffed the food placed in front of him. "I am hungry..I haven't been fed in a while", his words came out in almost a whisper, "Cake?...I've...never had cake before...", He spoke aloud but was musing to himself as he sniffed it again. He tensed as the wolves howled and the carriage started to move, not liking the feeling of movement when it was not his own feet doing the moving. Though he calmed again as the other dragon spoke. Whilst she told him her story he listened quietly, taking a careful bite of the cake, his eyes widening at just how nice it actually was. It also made him realise just how hungry he was as well. He refrained from eating it too fast but still ate quickly, paying close attention to the story he was being told.
"O-oh I see...well, I am glad you found your place in the world and a position and job you seem very pleased with. Heh....I don't think there's any gift within me...I'm just....well a lowly slave...". He sighed softly, "It's..all I've ever known..". He dwelled in his thoughts for a moment before he felt her energy change to that of slight excitement and his ears perked again. "Here? Proper attire? Who is my new Master?", he was curious, things seemed different this time around.
When the carriage came to a stop and he was let out of the cage he simply allowed himself to be whisked along, his remaining senses being a bit overwhelmed.

I need to just say that I'm going to have to take a break from RPing :) I (foolishly) decided to be in more than one RP at once. I should've known the stress of replying would have gotten back at me ^^ Most of my time on this website is being eaten up by a new thread I have made, so usually I have no energy to reply. I might reply from time to time to this RP when I feel like it, but honestly, replies will be slow (like once or twice a week slow). Thanksgiving break is coming up soon, so maybe I can get back into the swing of things, but once school starts up again I'm going to be really low on energy. I hope you understand and this isn't such an inconvenience :) If you want to stop the RP, tell me, and maybe we can come up with something else soon :)

((Hi there, I am sorry to hear that stress is getting to you, please make sure you take care of yourself first and foremost, that is the most important thing <3 In regards to replies, please do not feel bad about slow ones! I am quite used to waiting a week or more for replies and really do not mind if that's the case with this one, just reply whenever you're ready to :) It is not an inconvenience at all, I am enjoying what we've got so far and am happy to simply let it go in terms of replies happen whenever. Just take care of yourself ok? *hugs* ))
