Dustclan | Warriors RP
In an inhospitable land of desert and scrubby bushes, there lives a clan of cats with no Starclan to guide them. In fact, the mere idea of warrior ancestors is taboo.
Barely-remembered myths remain of a time when there were 5 great clans, living in a place of many trees and rushing water. However, the myths are just that, and the tales are viewed as overblown and nonsensical. Plentiful prey, great battles, and trees that towered as high as the dunes of their desert home.
But the lithe, cunning cats of Dustclan have no time for such frivolous stories as that, and talk of them is hushed and forbidden. They take pride in being survivors, practical, passionless. The only recurring story is how the strongest members of the group which Dustclan sprang from forsook and chased out their pathetic clanmates, whom too weak to hold on to the territory which they had came from. It serves as a tale cementing their strength, and reminding how the warriors of the waste treat those who fail in their duties.
The Warrior Code
1) The word of the clan's leader is the warrior code. No matter the order, you can not disobey them.
2) Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Rouge intruders will be killed unless further use for them can be seen or they are under 6 moons old. If they are under this age limit, they will be taken into the clan, but expected to prove their worth.
3) The deputy will become leader if the leader is killed.
4) The deputy is chosen by a fight between two cats, one chosen by the clan, and one by the medicine cat. Both must be approved by the leader.
5) The role of a cat is decided based on the skills they show. This role is permanent unless they advance to the deputyship or become unable to perform it(ex, if they're blinded).
6) Mates cannot be permanent to prevent putting the individual ahead of the clan. Rather, they are chosen for the cat in question based on who would have the strongest kits.
7) Mating outside this is forbidden, and will result in the exile or death of both of the parents, depending on the severity of the relationship, and every kit but the healthiest being killed.
8) You are not allowed to waste prey.
9) Kits can only become an apprentice at 6 moons old.
Roles
Leader
(The law within the clan. They are to be obeyed and respected. Do not have 9 lives or the "star" name ending, since they do not know anything about Starclan.)
Deputy
(The second-in-command. Orders will be followed if the leader is incapacitated.)
Defenders
(Only two. Personal guards to the leader, appointed by them as an extension of their will. They protect the leader and watch for treasonous behavior within the clan.)
Medicine Cat
(The clan's healer. Naturally, does not interpret omens and prophecies in this clan.)
Hunters
(They are mainly lithe cats with smaller paws that can hunt on the uneven and rocky terrain. They are called to large-scale battles and taught some fighting skills, but that is not their main purpose.)
Guards
(Either guard the camp or patrol the territory, taking care of intruders or larger animals that might serve as predators. Mainly larger cats who are skilled fighters.)
Keepers
(Care for kits until they become apprentices so their mothers can continue with their normal duties. Often cats that are seen as inferior: ie, sickly or crippled in some way.)
Apprentices
(In training to reach one of the above positions.)
Kits
(Cats that are too young to train.)

Sootmask stretched out luxuriously from the perch under the leader's ledge, the dull morning sun warming his blue-black skin. It had been a quiet, boring night on watch, as most seemed to have been lately. Who could blame him if that was just a little annoying? Sure, he preferred monotony to boiling alive, but- wait, scratch that, anything was better than the hot season, especially this previous one. So many cats had dropped dead from sun-sickness or ran out of water. The Cliffside felt extremely empty nowadays.
But even if he'd take this over mass death, could you blame him for being bored just watching to make sure nobody attacked Shrubscatter for hours on end? A fight with a fox or traitor would be refreshing just to get his blood flowing.
But anyways, duty called and the like. He sprang up to the higher rock shelf, where Shrubscatter was sleeping- or maybe she just had her eyes closed, who knew with her. "Morning." He said, loudly enough to rouse her. "Honeykit's ceremony is today, right? I'll go wake up the Bonehead before you call a meeting and stuff." With that, he bounded down to the warrior's cave to rouse his partner.
Sleekfoot had returned to camp with a tired glaze over her green eyes and two rabbits clenched in her jaws. She had gone out hunting late last night- though training new warriors was important and all, everyone seemed to have forgotten that they needed to eat- and ended up with decent pickings, though still not enough to be impressive by her admittedly too-high standards.
She set the now slightly stiff rabbits on the pathetic excuse for the fresh-kill pile. Besides her catches, there was only a lizard and, for some baffling reason, a cactus fruit. Why any cat would eat that, she had no idea. Maybe it was for Acornstem to use or something. Though, honestly, how any cat could have the patience to fetch things for Acornstem was beyond her. She barely managed most days.
Her jaws parting in a large yawn, the brown she-cat headed as quietly as possible into the warrior's den, nodding to a passing Sootmask along the way. Maybe she could get a bit of sleep and not have everyone wake up five seconds later. At least the apprentices seemed to be sleeping, though Cactuspaw was thrashing around as he did so.
Pebblespine was heading down to the medicine den, barely flinching as his paws traced the well-worn path from the Nursery to the ground. Of course, there was that slight hesitation before every step, as if he was afraid that the earth would fall out from underneath him.
There was no dire need for the medicine cat himself, the Keeper was simply fetching a cactus pad for water. With five cats in the nursery, two of them full-grown, they were constantly running out. Though, he remembered, soon the number would be nearly halfed. Honeykit would be heading to the apprentice den, and while he was always glad to-well, not see, but experience the kits he took care of growing up, Pebblespine would miss the quiet young cat. And Palethroat would jump at the chance to leave once her kits were finished nursing. Honestly, his main worry was whether he was good enough to take care of Addaxkit and Owlkit.
He was jolted out of his musings by the pungent smell of herbs as he padded into the cool lair of the clan's local healer.
"Good morning, Acornstem, I'm just getting some water." He said quietly, not wishing to wake the Bengal if he wasn't already.

Malignantt (#meanclan guys, make it trend!)
Kawapaw walked out of the apprentices' den with a smile on his face. Today was a good day. He didn't know why it was a good day, it was just a good day! "Hi Riverpaw, Cactuspaw!" He chirped with an unusual brightness.
Kawapaw was one of the nicer ones in the clan, but even so, this look was not familiar on his face. He beamed at Riverpaw and Cactuspaw, a strange bounce in his step. He followed them as Cactuspaw dashed away, Riverpaw calmly following. A meeting had been called. Why... Oh, wasn't Honeykit becoming an apprentice? Right!
