I would love to collect all sorts of food recipe and/or archives from your clan's research. This clan is built around a research institution, they'd love to exchange knowledge with your clans! Please do not hesitate to contact us through PM! No posting here tho I am not quite done writing /rollsaway

Knowledge is power!

ps: I may need to make another thread for individual WIP lore dragons.
pps: I want a clan emblem @@ Some other lore clans I've seen have amazing emblems / flags I waaant-

History
Before the founding of the sanctuary, local dragons lived in small familial units each specialized in their choice of living. Some were hunters, others are fishermen, while majority of them are foragers and farmers. They traded items and goods, rarely do they come into contact unless absolutely necessary. Once a year they may travel to larger clans to celebrate Starfall Celebration.

The arrival of scholars and researchers from the Observatory improved their relationship. With higher demand for daily supplies, shops were set up for easy access; permanent lodgings were built and they started hiring guides for expeditions.

The group centralized their activities in what would soon be called the Halls of Iris. It branches out and connects several sub sections including specialized facilities, educational spaces and a public library. Around these facilities, a community hub was formed to accommodate more business. As the hub grows in popularity those family units started moving nearer, drawn in by convenience and job opportunities.

There are a select few who prefers solitary lives chose to remain in their old dwellings. Some however remained out there for the research center - constant supply of materials are needed and that is where they employ harvesters and guides living in the woods.

Territory
Laevigata Sanctuary is located at the outer borders of Starwood Strand. Encompassing the community hub and several miles of woodlands, including a patch of coastline. The hub is but an hour away from the coast by foot - if you don't get lost.

Floras and faunas here are known for it's bio-luminescence properties, they've adapted to the swirling mass of arcane energy and some have been recorded to possess a living creature's consciousness. Specific blooms are harvested and cultivated for their beauty and magical essence. It is said that under moonlight, these colors reveal unexpected truth.

Visitors
The woods hide various danger and outsiders are often drawn to the luminous quality of the woods. Many went missing. Some turn up years later with hostile behaviors or amnesia.

Therefore, the clan is wary of unannounced visitors. Rangers and patrols will stop intruders at the borders, or anyone who travels outside the designated pathways. Visitors without a notice are stopped at the gateway and cross-examined on purpose of traveling.

Within the community hub, home-stays and inns are available for rent but permanent stay require permission from the Counsil.

Travelers or tourists are encouraged to enroll in an intensive course. These lessons are designed with a focus to navigate Starwood Strand and understand it's lifeforms. Each individual are assigned a mentor, for a Merit system that determines if you fail or graduate. During the course selected field trips are open for anyone to sign up, it is to help reinforce a subject with real life experiences.

[Dragons sent to me will be leveled to 7 and have their bio updated before returning to former clan, or in the case of a travelling dragon, will be sent to a new player.]

Exalting
Each dragons will be presented a badge of honor with the Iris insignia and send off to the observatory to serve the Arcanist.

Deep Woods
Swamp | Hideout

In venturing further, it is as if evolution went off tangent and you have arrived at a completely different planet. Danger level rises as you encounter more and more bizarre lifeforms. Try climbing up the canopy, in the far distance you will spot the famed Observatory sitting upon the highest point. Fly if you must, towards the only visible marker to avoid getting trapped in the woods. Reading stars would not help at all since the woods itself glows like starlights, you would just confuse yourself.

If you happen to stumble upon a hidden swamp not too far from the sanctuary, feel free to visit the hermit who lives there. Oh, remember to bring a gift. The hermit guides dragons who are on their way to be exalted.

According to him, there may or may not be a hidden dragon living in the swamps. Also, do heed his warming of several 'mysterious individuals' currently residing in the Sanctuary. Majority calls him a senile fool, but the locals know better.
