Icefang
It wasn’t the leaky roof that initially put Icefang in such a bad mood. Rather, it was that it had been raining for days now and it just didn’t seem to want to let up. Her nest was located in a spot that, fortunately, wasn’t leaking as bad as the rest of the den. The apprentices –those slackers-- really needed to fix it pronto.
Her sleep had been filled with vivid dreams that left her awaking up to feel as if she hadn’t slept at all. After the first warrior had awoken and left the den that morning, others started to trickle out, the constant activity making it impossible for Icefang to even think of getting more sleep.
Agitated, she got herself to her paws, limbs feeling heavy like they were filled with stones, and headed out of the warriors den and into camp. The rain, although a light drizzle, quickly clung to her long fur, tangling it in the short time it took her to head across the clearing to take shelter under the giant pine tree in the center of camp.
She knew that she couldn’t hide out from the rain forever, but at least for a little while while the Clan awoke she could sit and watch the activity. Some cats, she noticed, weren’t afraid of getting wet, like Hailsong who seemed content to sit in the open. His fur was soaked already, but he didn’t seem to care. Icefang was a bit envious, honestly. It would be nice to not be bothered by the rain.
Turning her attention to Darkblaze nearby, who was also taking shelter from the rain. “Waiting for your lazy apprentice?” She asked casually for lack of anything better to do. Honestly she didn’t socialize too much. She had few friends since she had a tendency to come off as rude and was so quick to anger and lash out, but that was fine. She didn’t need anyone but herself.

Dapplepaw
Being a morning cat had its merits.
Dapplepaw always found it easy to get up every day. She wasn’t overly optimistic, as if the sun was shining and the world was great, but she rather enjoyed mornings. There was just something about the feeling of waking up to a new day that was incredibly pleasing. It was very rare for her to wake up in a bad mood.
Today was no different. The moment she stirred from a rather enjoyable dream where she had gone hunting and had caught more prey than she could ever hope, she crawled out of her nest. Taking a moment to stretch, she realized that she was the last apprentice to awaken and winced.
“Oops.” She muttered to herself, but shrugged it off. It was no big deal. It wasn’t like she had woken up late or made her mentor wait too long for her, so there wasn’t any harm.
Emerging into the clearing, Dapplepaw glanced up at the sky as the rain that had been a thin drizzle started to pick up a bit. ‘It’s as if the sky is unhappy to see me.’ She thought with amusement. The rain honestly didn’t bother her too much. She had more important things to worry about than soggy fur!
Turning her attention to matters at hand, she looked around for Greycloud, wondering what was in store for their training today. She had become an apprentice only a few days ago, but the rain had prevented her from getting any serious training done. Maybe today her mentor would teach her something really important!
