Laurelheart
Laurelheart couldn't help but laugh. "I'm alright, and good morning to you to." Laurelheart bent down to lick her chest fur before looking back up at Echoheart. "What were you doing out here, most of the clan hasn't even left yet for patrol-" Laurelheart was cut off as she spotted a mouse from the corner of her eye. She flicked her tail towards Echoheart and pointed at the little critter. She crouched down and moved forward, her paws hardly making a sound. Just as Laurelheart was about to pounce she stepped on a twig and it snapped, scaring the tiny creature back into it's hiding hole. "Agh, fox-dung!" Laurelheart cursed. "I thought I had it!"

As Specklestar waited for the cats to congregate, she spotted two cats chit-chatting just before the entrance to the camp. As she surveyed them, she noticed it was a heavily pregnant queen and a ginger gauche-looking cat. 'Ah,' she thought. 'It's Laurelheart and Echoheart.'
"Echoheart!" She cried, to catch the cats attention. "If you don't want to join in with the morning patrols, you can take care of the elders for the day, and I know how much you LOVE to tend to Cederbarks arthritic joints!" Specklestar wasn't going to make her of course, but reminded her that the possibly was always there. She felt a pang of sympathy for her clan-mate, as she once knew what it was like to be an outsider.

"Oh, I'm glad!" She flashed the other female a big smile, but then blushed a bit "Haha, well, I was up and early and I just chill out on a rock nearb-" She trailed off, curious to what has had Laurelheart's attention instead. As she was about to ask, the other she-cat has already pointed to something, turned her head to look at what had Laurelheart so worked up, she too spotted the critter with her large green eyes widened Hey, isn't that the mouse that ran away from me? ... She wondered.
But then hold her breath as she watched the molly slowly creeped up on the unawared mouse. Echoheart couldn't help but to watch in awe at how good Laurelheart is, that is until she stepped on a twig and snapped it and scared the critter away, which made Echoheart flinched at the sound. Then she strolled over to Laurelheart, smiling brightly "But hey! Everyone makes mistakes now and then. You did really good!" She beamed, reassuring Laurelheart "It looks like I still have a lot to learn, ahaha." She blushed, sticking her tongue out and scratched the back of her head as she recalled the incident before, hopefully no one saw that.
But then quickly realized something, and her curiosity gets the better of her like always "That reminds me! Where are you planning to go? Isn't the meeting about to start?" She questioned, tilted her head to a side, her green eyes were examining the other she-cat like a kit waiting for a response.
Then jolted and almost jumped as a loud, booming voice called out for her. She turned her head and saw that Specklestar was looking directly at her, she sweats, giving the leader a guilty smile "Hehe... sorry chief! Be right there in a second!" She then turned back to Laurelheart "Hey sorry, maybe we can catch up another time? Take care of yourself now!" She bidded the pregnant she-cat a goodbye before raced over to the mound, looking up at Specklestar, with one ear drop and scratched her head and laughing nervously.

"Sure!" Strangekit squeaked excitedly to Raventooth. "What kind of game is it?" She instantly began to drift off into her own imagination, wondering what Raventooth had planned. Play wrestling was always fun! Oh, catch would be good too... Strangekit playfully batted Willowkit's ear. "What do you think?"
Wolfstrike smiled as he heard his daughter calling from the Nursery. He waved his tail to her, before she was tackled into a game by Strangekit. This caused an amused purr to emerge in his chest, and a happy feeling to bloom in his heart. Even though she had no siblings, Willowkit had made friends with the other kits, and didn't seem lonely as he was worried she'd be.
He was distracted by the call of Specklestar, and instructions to wake the warriors. He dipped his head to her, lowering his tail in respect. "I will do so immediately." He called, turning swiftly to push his way back into the Warrior's den. He looked around at the sleeping cats again. "Wake up, Valleyclan. It is time to begin the day." His voice rumbled, not so sharp as to startle them from their slumber, only wake them. His golden eyes glowed dimly in the early morning light.
Emberheart and Adderwhisker lifted their heads simultaneously as Wolfstrike woke them all. Emberheart's jaws parted on a yawn, and she stood first, shaking out her fur. Adderwhisker grunted, and rolled back over, but only lay for a moment before he dragged himself up on his paws with a huff and stood next to his sister as she groomed the fur gone wild upon his head.
"Good morning, Wolfstrike. Is Specklestar arranging morning patrols?" Emberheart asked, looking over at her old mentor with curious green eyes. Wolfstrike nodded to her, chuckling. "I do believe so." He said, to which she nodded. "Alright, let's get going then, Adderwhisker. We don't want to keep Specklestar waiting." She purred, making her way out of the den and into the clearing, with Adderwhisker following sleepily behind.
Willowkit turned when she heard her name, but she was tackled before she could figure out who it was. She squealed, startled, but the familiar scent of Strangekit caused her to grin, as he batted her face. "Hey no fair!" She laughed, batting back at him with her own tiny paws.
The warm voice of Raventooth made Willowkit turn her head, and gaze up at the queen with wide blue eyes from where she lay on the ground. Her tail swished around in excitement at her suggestion of a game, and Willowkit bounced up onto her paws, waiting for Raventooth to elaborate. Strangekit batted her ear, and she shrugged at his question, headbutting his shoulder a bit in retaliation. "Raventooth always has the best games, so I don't mind what it is!" She mewed, bouncing around in excited little circles.

"Alright, talk to you later!" Laurelheart called out to Echoheart as she bounded away. Laurelheart shook her head, it was nice talking to a cat that didn't ask her how she was doing after the death of her mate. Laurelheart pushed the thought from her mind and continued to walk through the tall grass. She looked up at the sky, the sun shining down on the land, with drops of dew on the plants. She could help but purr happily as she strolled through the grass. Suddenly something came into her vision. It was a butterfly, and a huge one to. It was beautiful yellow with a black outline and stripes. She couldn't help her kit-like instinct as she leaped up and started to chase the butterfly through the grass.

Raventooth chuckled heartily. "Well, I was thinking of a game of search and find, but-" She trailed off, amusement glittering in her eyes. "You have to constantly be moving. If you hold still for more than a second, you're disqualified from the match! All you have to do is remain in the clan camp and be moving. Now..." The she-cat looked around for any item for the kits to find. "Okay, the first one to find me a beetle of any kind and bring to me alive wins!" Crouching down, she murmured, "Okay, ready, get set, and... Go!"
Splinterpelt watched everyone with sharp eyes. "If we're on a patrol together," He murmured to Mottleclaw. "I challenge you to a game of who can catch the largest bird." Mottleclaw only purred in amusement, his short tail waving slightly. "I'll take that as a yes then." Splinterpelt murmured, hooking his sharp claws into a leaf and crumbling it with his paw. His ears flicked with impatience. Honestly, if everyone else was a little faster, he would be out hunting by now.

Willowkit grinned as Raventooth explained the game, and wiggled around in anticipation. Her tail was flicking around wildly behind her, and she crouched as the Queen did, doing her best to copy the posture. Her claws dug into the dirt while Raventooth began to count them down, with a Ready, Set...
Go!
Willowkit pounced into her sprint, her legs carrying her as fast as they could go. She bounced around the camp, searching for a beetle, making sure to wiggle around whenever she had to slow to sniff around. Making sure to constantly move, she looked like she was doing a silly dance, trying to find a beetle. "Im gonna find it first Strangekit!" She yowled, giggling as she jumped up in the air to get a higher vantage point.
Nothing... Nothing... There!
She spotted a little black shape moving around on the ground near the center of camp. She bounded toward it, her eyes sparking with victory, before pouncing on her prey with surprising accuracy. "Got it!" She cried, and moved her paws to find the beetle...
But she'd crushed it accidentally. "Oh, beetledung." She hissed, tossing the beetle aside in frustration. She turned, bouncing on her paws so as to keep moving, her blue eyes searching for Strangekit to see if she'd caught anything.

[font=century][size=4]Strangekit bounded off in search of a beetle. Willowkit had the advantage over her; her eyesight was as sharp as any other cat. Strangekit's was dull and blurry, but her ears could pick up a mouse a mile away.
Quickly, Strangekit leaped over to a dry, cracked spot over by the nursery. This area was famous for its centipedes and ticks. It was practically an elder's nightmare. Plenty of crevices littered the land, unclaimed by grass or weeds, and a large stone lay unmoving in the middle of the dusty area. Here, maybe the beetles would enjoy the warmth of the cracked earth.
"Strangekit, what are you doing?" The voice was familiar. "Hi, Cedarbark!" The elder sighed, his thick fur falling around him. He had, for whatever reason, decided to sun himself on the rock. "Is there nowhere I can go to get away from you kits?" he asked monotonously. "Nope," Strangekit replied. She was reaching tediously in every crack in the earth, seeing if she could snag a beetle. With visible effort, the giant elder forced himself to his paws. "I asked you once, and I'll ask again," he continued. "What in the world are you doing?" "I have to find a beetle and bring it back to Raventooth," she managed, gnawing at a bit of rock where she thought a beetle might be.
Strangekit gasped as a flash of black caught her eyes. "I've found one!" she cried. She pounced. But when she lifted her claws, there was nothing there. "Fox dung!" Strangekit muttered. "It's in the cracks!" She extended her tiny claws and began to scrape at the earth.
Cedarbark was moved by her determination. "Well, seeing as I've got nothing to do, I might as well help." He unsheathed his claws and dug alongside her.

Raventooth watched with amusement. She was glad Willowkit and Strangekit wanted to play the game. It would be nice to tire them out early in the morning so the busy clan wouldn't have to trip over any wild kits. Sighing softly, she settled down, enjoying the warmth of the morning sun. It was just perfect for her. Anything too warm and she would have to retreat back into the nursery. "Don't forget to keep moving Strangekit!" Raventooth called out when she saw her digging. Did she loose a beetle in one of the cracks over there? Her eyes wandered the clearing, finding that Willowkit was wiggling like a little worm. The she-cat purred, glad that both kits were having fun. "Oh, look, a large beetle over there! Let's see who can catch it first!" Raventooth exclaimed, looking at a large beetle quickly scurrying across the clan clearing, right in the open.
