Lilac, a pretty creamy tabby kittypet with thick fur, and Acornstorm, a deep russet tabby from Berchclan fell deeply in love by chance one afternoon when Acornstorm wandered into the backyard of Lilac's Twolegs. The rest was history - the two cats met each other outside in the yard every evening and spent hours together roaming aimlessly around the neighborhood. One day, during a beautiful winter sunrise, Lilac told Acornstorm she was expecting his kits, and in turn Acornstorm convinced her to leave her Twolegs and raise their kits together in the comfort of the forest. However, a week before Lilac gave birth to her kittens, Acornstorm mysteriously disappeared. It was rumored by the other loners that he had been hit by a monster while out hunting for food for his clan and the grief-stricken Lilac, in a grueling and long kitting alone in the hollow tree den she shared with Acornstorm, gave birth to a healthy kitten. Deciding she couldn't raise the kit, Lilac left the kit in the clan territory and fled. Soon after she fled, the clan found the kit, who they eventually called Soughkit because of her soft mews.

Dusktide
She's pleased by the reception. Mottleclaw, an older warrior who had long ago earned her respect, speaks up to volunteer the idea of leaving warriors behind. Dusktide nods to him as the rest rise to voice their agreement. Emerald eyes seek stormy stare of the dark Tom, offering him a grateful nod. She was always thankful for his advice.
Then, she looks at those who had joined her. Nightstride raises his concern, and she offers him a small dip of her head. There's always something to remind them of the terror they live in. She wonders how soon the day will come when they are scared no longer.
"Boulderstorm," she addresses curtly, approving of his choice to stay, seeing as he'd already tried his paw at hunting that day. Gaze roams out to browse the rest of those gathered. "Mottleclaw?" Eyes rest on the man who had originally volunteered the suggestion. He is not suggested to stay out of punishment or age, but out of trust.
Pending his response, she looks at the rest: "Sorrelheart, Crowstream, Nightstride--ready?" The early bird catches the worm, as it was always said, and if Mottleclaw was content with the arrangement, she would lead them off into the forest, likely toward the creek to cater to all if their skillsets, including her own.

Strikingpaw nods enthusiastically, quickly bounding further into the medicine den with the herbs. He pokes around in the stores, feeling himself despair slightly at how low they were looking. Mumbling under his breath, he began trying to match the herbs he had with other ones, seeing which of the plants looked similar. "Is... Is this Yarrow?" He mumbled awkwardly. "I guess so, I'm just gonna..." Trailing off, Strikingpaw nervously looked around, noting that Koipond had caught Frostfall's attention. Quickly, he stuffed the herbs away, mumbling, "I hope I'm doing this right."
Mottleclaw grunted softly in response, ears flickering slightly as he turned and stalked his way back to his spot from before. He was more than happy to remain here and guard the camp, given his birth would probably scare most of the prey away. Settling down beneath the leafed plant, he watched the others carefully, before his gaze traveled to the medicine den. That's all they worried about protecting. This clan felt incomplete now, with no nursery and definitely no leader. Trailing off into his thoughts, the tom rested his head upon his paws and closed his eyes.
Nightstride nodded, his long tail flicking behind him in acknowledgement. "Yes." He meowed, rising. He paused, looking about the clan clearing. "Where is Cinderpaw?" He could feel a growing concern, but he couldn't help it. Cinderpaw was still an apprentice, his apprentice, and he liked to keep his eyes on the young male, to make sure he's safe. "Have any of you seen him around here?"

Cinderpaw
Head raises suddenly at the sound of his name, snapping to sudden awareness like he'd been shocked. He jumps with such surprise that his back hits the top of the apprentice den, but in moments, he's scrambling out into the clearing. Seeing that everyone has gathered, and seeing that Dusktide has called what seems to be a hunting party, he quickly tries to regain his posture. Black-and-auburn ears burn with shame as he picks his way over to his mentor's side.
"Sorry," he murmurs, brow furrowing. He's not sure how he overslept. If there's one thing that the Clan knew, it was that Cinderpaw never overslept. It wasn't sure if he ever stopped moving at all. Tail whisks from side to side as he sits attentively beside Nightstride. "Weird dreams, or somethin'..." He can't remember what they were--he only knows that they left him a little unsettled. He makes a conscious effort to try to shake it off, knowing that he'll need all of his focus if he's to hunt. Eyes turn upward to the gathered part of warriors, feeling a bit of excitement begin to course through him at the prospect of freshkill!

Crowstream | Tom | Warrior
"I'm ready" he meows waiting for Dusktide to take the lead. He looks around the clearing one last time before the hunt to make sure that everyone is alright. He was nervous leaving his clanmates because of everything that they have been through. He shakes the memories away, knowing his clanmates are strong enough to protect one another.
Boulderstorm | Tom | Warrior
He watches as the hunting patrol is sorting out who's going and who's staying. He rests his head on his paws, as he enjoys the warmth of the sun on his pelt.
Sorrehleart | She-cat | Warrior
She moves over towards where Nightstride is standing. She waits for Nightstride to start leading them out into the woods. Her stomach growling from hunger, she sighs and her head hangs low.
Frostfall | she-cat | Medicine Cat
She looks over at Koipond "I was just having Strikingpaw organize the herbs" she meows. Then in a whisper she says "Maybe we can manage to sneak away. I'm sure everyone will be dosing in the sun soon." Her tail sticks up in the air and her pelt ****** up in excitement at sneaking out of the clearing.

Koipond
She meowed out loud and looked at Striking "ah yes I do see that he is sorting the herbs!" She whispers into Frostfalls ear "But what if we bring him too? Teach him to do this with his apprentice?".Koipond looks out the den seeings the warriors splitting up "Excuses are a thing too"

(( don't want to double-post with Cinderpaw until Silly gets the chance to respond. <3 @
AndromedaGalaxy, if you still need a warrior to mentor her, let us know! I don't think that Duskstride would have taken another apprentice already due to her history, but I'm sure we can find someone. ))
Dusktide
Eyes swipe about her waiting party, satisfied with the way things had fallen into place. Gaze watches the calico apprentice approach promptly once he's been called, a smoldering mixture of approval for coming so quickly and disapproval for being tardy shifting in emerald eyes. She gives a solid nod as they seem ready to depart.
"Stay low." It's the last command she gives before she turns toward the exit of their makeshift camp, her tail beckoning her party to follow.
The forest is quiet, more quiet than she'd anticipated with the turn of good weather. It'll be bountiful in comparison to how it'd been on the other days, but compared to their own home? The pickings would be scarce. It pains her to think that even then, it might still be enough; they'd lost so much in the battle and in the ensuing weeks that they needed much less to feed themselves, now.
She leads them on quiet paws. Toes splay to distribute her weight evenly across the earth, form low to the ground as she creeps about noisier debris. Eyes remain sharp, on the lookout for scurrying prey. A sharp quiver of her tail alerts her followers to do the same. She sticks to the shadows, trying to reduce the way her lighter pelt sticks out in the darker forest.

Striking paw's ears flicked when he heard his name, and he awkwardly shuffled about on all four paws. What were they saying about him this time? Nervously, he began to push a small pebble around. Why did he even bother to try to become a medicine cat, especially when he didn't even know most of the herbs.
Mottleclaw watched the hunting party leave. He remained laying where he was, keeping an open eye and ear for anything of interest.
Nightstride smiled slightly at Sorrelheart, hearing her stomach rumble. "We'll be catching some fresh kill soon enough." Looking back and seeing Dusktide begin to move, he stood. "Let's go." Nightstride murmured as he lightly touched his tail against Cinderpaw's flank. He followed after Dusktide, gaze clouding slightly as he began to focus on his surroundings. He was aware of every little sound he made, every little sound that his clan-mates made, and every little sound in the forest around them. Pausing, Nightstride looked to Cinderpaw. "Keep low, spread your weight and stick to the shadows. If you walk with your haunches up like that, you're going to make a lot of noise."
He didn't want to be speaking, but Cinderpaw needed to learn. He wouldn't be much of a hunter if he didn't teach him how to be like one. Nightstride flicked his tail to the right, noting the scrabbling he could hear. Faltering, he remained hovering in his spot, icy eyes observing the bush before him, off to his right.
There.
Crouching, he leapt forwards using his hind legs to push himself up. His paws were outstretched, claws gleaming. Crashing into the bush, he felt the soft warmth and quickly bit down on what he had caught. It was a small mouse, but enough to feed someone. He turned back, slinking towards the shadows and others. Hopefully, he didn't scare any other prey away.

(Sorry, I didn't see that I was accepted! Yah , Soughpaw still needs a mentor, If anyone will take her. If no one's available I can make her a warrior - it wouldn't be ant trouble)

Crowstream | Tom | Warrior
He pads after Dusktide out of the camp, keeping low. He makes sure his tail doesn't rustle any leaves or anything. He pads into a fern bush and peaks through, he sees a scrawny little vole. He crouches down and he leaps forward landing on the vole and quickly killing it. He buries it so that he can come back and retrieve it before going back to camp. He goes back to quietly stalking through the bushes in hope of finding more prey.
Boulderstorm | Tom | Warrior
He's soon dozing in the sun. Unaware of his surroundings.
Sorrehleart | She-cat | Warrior
She stays low, making sure she doesn't disturb anything with her tail. She hears scratching near a birch tree she stops and she moves silently through the bushes. She sees a small mouse and she bunches her legs but before she can move her stomach growls, she freezes and sees the mouse perk up and start running. She tries running after it but it quickly runs into the roots of a tree. "Mouse-dung!" she snaps at herself.
Frostfall | she-cat | Medicine Cat
"It would be good to bring him" she meows "what excuse should we use?" she tilts her head at Koipond. While she also thinks of a good, believable, excuse.
