Name: Saltheart
Age (in moons): 31
Gender: Felil (they/them)
Sexuality: Questioning / open to anyone
Rank: Far Swimmer
Clan: Shoalclan
Mentor/Apprentice: (open)
Kin:
Personality: Always watching, rarely speaking, Saltheart tends to appear detached from life at large. They focus more on the churning sea than the buzzing life around the den, and as such, most of Saltheart's conversations revolve around the weather. When a cat gets to know them better and digs past the initial awkwardness, Saltheart opens up and reveals an odd sense of humor and fascination with natural phenomena and predicting the weather. They are actually a very sentimental sweetheart, just also shy and bad at making friends.
Mate: (open! - talk to me ooc if you are interested in starting something)
History:
Saltheart was born in a small famine. It was coldsea, and despite the efforts of the clan, they were the only of the litter to survive. Their mother, Wetnose, was immensely protective of her only kit from that point onwards, trying to shelter them from the world and preventing them from even speaking to other kits and apprentices if they dared to sneeze or play around her baby.
It was a massive surprise when Saltheart became an apprentice and immediately gained a reputation for being able to swim the farthest in the strongest currents. They were still very bad at socializing, and had a hard time speaking to the other apprentices, but Saltheart's mentor showed them the freedom that the sea brought, and the two of them often returned to camp late in the evening, pulling turtleshells of goodies and laughing at inside jokes. He trained Saltheart to be the best, and while they still have trouble with medicine cat herbs, there is no one better at diving into the sea.
To this day, there is only a pawful of cats they couldn't save, but sadly, their mentor is among them. It was a hunting trip with the another far-swimmer and their apprentice, and they were too far our for the Feather Speaker's to warn them of an oncoming storm. The undertow, calm and sleepy, roared awake in an instant as it swept him into the sea. Saltheart had to be restrained from diving to the same fate, but since that day that have kept an eye on the clouds and creatures of the sea, just in case.
Other:
Name: Dawnsun
Age: 91 moons
Gender: Trans She-cat (she / her)
Rank: Sunwatcher
Clan: Edgeclan
Apprentice: current small sun
Appearance: orange and white shorthair with green eyes that manage to judge, even without their sight
Personality: Dawnsun is Edgeclan's judgemental grandma. She doesn't think anyone has eaten enough, ever. Other than that, she relies upon her years to give her a perspective on life, and as she feels as if she's lived through the best and worst of life already, she always gives her opinion and voices her thoughts. This can be a good thing - she is a very wise woman - but she also thinks you need her advice on love, and life, and also that you need to eat more because you're too scrawny. It's a double edged sword.
She is quick to judge and slow to change, and while she forgives, she never forgets. Dawnsun will bring up border squabbles and prey disputes moons after they are relevant, and as she's been aging, she has slowly been getting worse at remembering exactly when things happened. What happened is still there, she just can't quite place it.
Dawnsun is also incredibly harsh on herself. Past mistakes weigh heavily on her shoulders, and she laments over past decisions, blaming the outcomes on herself rather than her co-leader.
History:
The pride and joy of her family, Dawnsun was honored to be chosen as Edgeclan's small sun, and her mentor was a patient lee, always ready to take things slowly and ease her into the important position. Yet Dawnsun was young once, and she often had to be chastised for her daydreaming and romantic heart. Everywhere she went, she was surrounded by rumors. Some were scandalous stories of moonlit meetings with strange toms, and others were simply cruel anecdotes about her lack of skill.
In time the rumors faded, and Dawnsun became a staple of Edgeclan. She outlived two leaders and one small sun, guiding the clan through famine and fire alike. Yet she remembers her past, and the gossip that surrounded her, and wonders if Sunclan sees her as sinful. They certainly tend to give her mixed signals, and she sometimes worries if her past prevents her from truly connecting with them as her apprentices seem to do.

Other:
Saltheart is nowhere near as good at predicting the weather as a feather speaker is. They are just more aware of it than the average cat and can theorize based on the clouds and tides.
If Saltheart was human, they would sound like Evanna Lynch (luna lovegood)

Other:
She broke the Sunwatcher's code many, many years ago. It was only once, and as she has spent the rest of her time repenting, Sunclan will still speak with her, but it's muffled, and the signs are unclear. Dawnsun lives in terror that signs are sent from the under-stone as a reminder that that is where she will go after death.
I would be fine with Dawnsun retiring to the elder's den, or having something else happen to her as a catalyst at some point of the story.
