The one truth of survival, is that it's boring. Being on constant alert and on the edge of capture fades into dullness, there's only so much your mind can take before it numbs itself. Ammalyn knew this to be true. She resented it and threw a dirt clod at the ruined wall in protest. It hit with a muffled thud then broke to pieces, "Just like my life."

Amma sighed and heaved herself off of the pile of rubble she was wallowing on. How long would they have to hide here in this stinking jungle? It was a verdant labyrinth who's humidity sucked the energy out of Amma and put frizz into her dark hair. She tucked a short lock behind her ear and looked back on the small ruins overtaken by vines. Only a few stone walls poked out from the earth. The roots of nearby trees seemed to be pulling them deeper into the soil. She and a handful of hybrids had taken shelter among the mossy bricks overnight, but she was growing more and more restless.

Amma dusted her pinstripe shorts off, her favorite pair, her only pair, and climbed onto the half-broken wall. She looked out into the gaps between the leaves. The jungle was dense. She figured it was getting late, maybe almost noon, but there was scarcely a shadow cast to tell. Defeated, she hopped down, sneakers creating a small dust cloud.
Cupping her hands around her mouth,"Okay, I know you guys are around. And if your still sleeping you need to wake up. We need to get going." She was careful not to be too loud. "Besides. I'm hungry" She added quietly to herself, silently wishing they were taking refuge in a diner.

There. Just near the corner of the ruins, a nearby fruit tree caught her eye. Ripe and plump, orange and beautiful. But the fruit hung higher than she could reach standing. She weighed her options and decided to try to climb it. The smooth bark was difficult to get a grip on, but she managed to get about 7 feet off of the ground before she realized how nauseatingly far away the ground was starting to get. Her knuckles were white with fear as she grasped a nearby branch. This was not good. She just wanted some fruit.

Loch perked up as he heard a voice call for the rest of the hybrids hiding in these mossy bricks that made up the small ruins. He ran a clawed hand through his black hair and walked outside, seeing Ammalyn climbing a tree to get some fruit. Wait... didn't she fear heights? He was kind of hungry too, and he didn't see anything else that he could eat around. He would just eat the grass, but he wasn't a complete turtle. He still considered himself to have the diet of a human, and fruit sounded really good right now.

He wanted to shout up to Ammalyn to see if she needed help, but he felt that shouting may give the hybrids' location away to nearby hunters and scientists. Instead, he decided to try and climb the tree himself. Yeah, I'm a child, but that doesn't mean I can't do it, he thought, nodding to himself and gripping the first branch he saw. It was a bit tricky because the bark turned out to be rather smooth, but he managed to hold on and pull himself up the tree, albeit slowly. He looked down once he got to Ammalyn's level; if he hadn't been subjected to the Arena back in the lab he used to be kept in, he would've been afraid of being this high. He glanced at Ammalyn before he wrapped his claws around another branch, getting closer to the fruit.

He climbed a bit higher and nearly slipped at one point, but he found his grip again and reached for an orange piece of fruit. He grabbed it, trying not to tear into it with his claws and pulled it off the tree. He decided that he would be able to take a couple pieces only before slowly descending. He got to Ammalyn's level and offered her a piece of fruit, holding it out for her to accept. "Hi," he greeted, smiling. He didn't bother asking if she needed help; he didn't feel that it was his place to. He was only 10 years old, and she was 5 years older than him. Besides, he respected her enough that he knew she would be able to handle anything.

Amma thought to reach out to accept the fruit, it was very tempting, but not tempting enough to let go of the branch she was holding with both white-knuckled hands. Her eyes were wide.

"Oh look at you, Mr. Climbs-a-lot! You don't have to show off" She said trying to hide her fear as she hugged the tree a bit tighter. She mumbled something about how claws makes it easier to climb under her breath.

"W-Why don't you just save that one for me while I enjoy the view up here." Amma was trying to save face and buy more time for herself as she was becoming ever more flustered. She could easily glide down as a bat, or fly up to get the fruit, but that was a painful and embarrassing transformation. One that proved she wasn't normal, and one she resented. Her brown eyes glared at him, daring him to make fun of her predicament.

Meanwhile

Lisandro sat blankly at his desk in his lab coat. Staring into nothing as his desk fan blew strands of his discolored hair upward. His office was crisp and clean with white and stainless steel accents, the same as it ever was, but something felt off. He felt off. He was forgetting to breathe. With a heavy exhale he leaned forward placing his elbows on his desk. He was worried. Lisandro turned his pensive green eyes to a small bluish plant in a white ceramic pot that sat next to his lamp on the desk and lifted his left hand to rub one of the soft, slender leaves. Osmunda Asturia. A plant named after his success with genetic research.

Why was he feeling like this? He hadn't gotten anything done since last Tuesday! What ever this was it was impending his work and it had to stop. But he couldn't stop thinking about the girl! He had seen so many come and go through his lab without so much as a blink. Business was business. He was doing his job for the good of science and humanity. So why had this one particular little girl affected him so much. The door swung open.

"Sir, did you want me to refrigerate those samples or leave them for you to check?" Lisandro startled and nearly knocked the plant over. A few chunks of dirt escaped onto the surface of the desk.

"Jeremy. Is it not standard procedure to at least KNOCK before entering a room uninvited?" He gestured wildly with his right hand as the left swept the renegade dirt into a small pile.

"Uh, yes. Sorry, Mr. Asturias. I just-I was just closing up the lab, we have that meeting at 1:00 PM and.."

"The Director's meeting. Of course. Go ahead and refrigerate them. Please make sure the labels are turned outward." Jeremy retreated back into the lab. Lisandro circled his desk to dispose of the dirt. At least he can focus on his next objective. As long as he wasn't caught helping the girl. It was likely they were going to chew out the lowly assistants and discuss subject retrieval. His brain seemed to boil with anxiety. Enough, enough, enough! Lisandro straightened his lab coat, fixed his hair and headed to help secure the lab before heading to the Director's meeting.

Evera frowned and paced the floor. While some of her other hunters were hunting, she had been called to some meeting that didn't really capture her interest. She sighed and kept pacing the wood floor. Her muddy boots leaving prints.

A knock on the door interrupted her thoughts. She looked up and saw a girls face. "Luna" she said, letting out a sigh of relief. Luna pushes her glasses up "Ma'am" she said "The meeting is happening soon".

Evera nodded and walked over to Luna "thank you" she said "you are dismissed". Luna nodded and left the room

Nyx watched Ammalyn and Loch from afar, perched on a nearby tree branch. She was a human, though she had turned into her animal self to get up.

She tilted her head to the side. It was quite early. Not everyone was awake, yet. "Ammalyn" she said, jumping over to a branch that was above them. "Loch". She looked at them and smiled "hello" she said.

Loch didn't expect Ammalyn to say that, in fact he expect anything else to be said. He wanted to say that he didn't like climbing as much as he did swimming, but he refrained from doing so. He quickly nodded, not wanting to be yelled at anymore, and ignored her glare as he began to descend. He stopped when he heard Nyx come over to say hi. "Hi Nyx," he greeted back, smiling again. "So how are you doing so far?" he asked, still holding both pieces of fruit.

Fang watched Evera pace the floor while in cat form, his ears slightly twitching. This meeting that Evera had been called to sounded rather boring... he just wanted to run around outside, but he would probably be shocked by this stupid electric collar that he was forced to wear if he did. He peered at Luna as she reminded Evera that the meeting was going to happen fairly soon. Now he wondered if he himself was going to be allowed to this meeting. Probably not... to heck with it, the question was worth asking.

"So what's this meeting about, anyway?" he asked, stretching. "Do I have to stay out here while you hunters discuss whatever you have to discuss? It sounds boring, to be honest..." Fang yawned and sat down, curling his tail around his front legs.

Username: Draconequis

Character Name: Chi (Like the tea, so pronounced chy, not chee)

Gender: Female

Age: 14

Sexuality: Straight

Role (scientist etc): Hybrid

Appearance (animal self as well as human, please IF HYBRID): As a hybrid, she was created to see if human and bee/wasp/yellowjacket (basically anything in that family) DNA could be spliced together properly. The result is a sometimes unsettling amalgamate of parts.

Her human skin is a deep, rich chocolate brown. Her hair is a vibrant shade of orange and cut short on her head in a bob, with black antennae with extend from the top of her head. Her face and head is angular and bug-like but her lips and mouth are oddly human. She has a rather large cuff of what looks like fur around her neck and shoulders, and her entire body is covered in stripes of light, orange hairs. She has two sets of arms, which start off as human but slowly devolve into jet black bug-like segments with fine hairs and end in human hands at the end. Her legs fade into jet black bug segments which continues down to her feet which are small and forked, to mirror bug feet. She has a set of paper-thin wings on her back. Her hind end devolves into a bug-like abdomen complete with a wicked stinger which is about the size of a small dagger. She usually wears whatever is given to her, but has taken to modifying it for her wings so she doesn't have to keep them flat to her body. Has a petite, and slender frame and stands at an unimpressive 4'10" and weighs about 23 pounds due to the partial exoskeleton she has on her outer body.

Personality: For the most part, contrary to her appearance, she is sweet, gentle and caring. She can get a little bit frustrated sometimes at the bad hand she's been dealt. She is easily angered and when she goes off, she goes off like a rocket. She tries not to hold a grudge but sometimes can't help herself. She has a low self esteem, and hates to look at herself in the mirror. She can be a little overly emotional at times, and will sometimes break out in tears for no reason.

Weapon:
Her stinger, she can inject poison if she makes contact. She can control how much and what type of poison she injects. This is only if she manages to jab you with her butt.. which is harder than it seems. (she will only be using non-lethal doses in the RP)

she can take flight by herself, she will never be able to produce enough lift to pull anyone else up with her. She can only fly for short bursts because her human body is a little heavy for her delicate wings. As she practices she will increase her flight abilities.

Extra arms: bee physiology.. she has a set of extra arms. They just function like regular arms, an extra set that do whatever she commands.

Bug communication: these only work on bees/wasps. She can effectively communicate with the creatures via odd vibrations, dancing, buzzing her wings and secreting pheromones. IN that way, she will never be stung, and can occasionally urge a bee/wasp to sting someone for her.. though it is exceedingly difficult and takes a lot of concentration. (except for when she's in trouble, a distress call=bees everywhere)

Fear: ironically, this used to be bees She got rid of that fear now, and is Pyrophobic (afraid of fire).

History: She was brought to the compound at a young age, and mutated so long ago she can't even remember what it was like to be human. She was with a large group of children like herself and was the only successful experiment. She was the first ever successfully purposefully weaponized hybrid.

Parents: Unknown

Siblings: Unknown

Other: She can swim fairly well, and use her antennae to hold air bubbles to let her stay underwater longer, however.. when she does swim, she won't be able to fly until her wings are dry again. She is weak to very cold and very hot places. She will not fly in the rain. Sometimes if she wears too much clothes she won't be able to take off and fly.

_______

Character Name: Theodosia A. Koravoritz

Gender: Female

Age: 27

Sexuality: *shrugs* Likes men for the most part, but will go for a lady here and there.

Role (scientist etc): Hunter

Appearance (animal self as well as human, please IF HYBRID): She's a pretty intimidating woman with broad shoulders and a fairly flat chest, with ivory skin. She stands at an inimpressive 5'5" and has a strong, anglular jawline. She is a little bit lanky, with arms and legs that seem to be too long for her to be as short as she is. She is not beautiful in a traditional sense, but rather quirky, with a wide mouth and think lips as well as a slightly crooked nose and two deep brown eyes. She has smooth, sleek, light brown hair.

Personality: Sassy, snarky, and something of a wild card. She does as she pleases, not stopping to check if other people are okay first. She has a strong, powerful personality which can overshadow others and can be a little too loud and bizzare for others to understand. She can say wierd things sometimes, speaking her mind at in-opportune moments. She's fairly sly and slick, and can talk her way out of any situation if she puts her mind to it. She flirts by punching whoever she is flirting with.. usually pretty hard. If you can't handle it.. you are too wimpy for her.

Weapon: Her fists, occasionally she uses a crossbow... she mostly prefers to use her red samurai sword.

Her words can also be a weapon.. beware.

Has Synethsethia.. associates numbers, letters, and sounds with colors and tastes.

Fear: Pediophobia (the fear of dolls)... she finds all dolls super creepy.

History: She has a long history i will reveal VIA rp.

Parents: Her father was a famous hunter named Romulus Koravoritz, he passed away due to a heart attack. Her mother died a few years after him of cancer.

Siblings: She is an only child.. but she has a cousin named Jeff who is bascially like her brother.

Other: She will cut you with her tongue and her sword. SASS MASTER

Great. Thought Amma. Now the whole world can witness what an idiot I am. Her face grew redder by the second. "Hey, Nyx. Could you please not shake the tree if you can?" She huffed and swung her legs around the wide trunk of the tree. What a dumb thing to do, climb a tree, surely theres food closer to the ground. her footing slipped and she slid about halfway down the trunk. She slid far enough down to realize she wasn't falling anymore and loosened her grip in relief, which resulted in her plopping down hard onto the ground.
"Ouch" Amma stood up and dusted herself off and eyed Loch's bountiful harvest. She squinted looking up at Nyx, even more embarrassed seeing that she wasn't really that far up. If she wasn't already running away, she would run from this. With the dirt under her feet, she began to regain her composure and listen to the others.

A long glass table stretched across the length of the meeting room. The only other things in the room were a projector, screen, and a handful of ergonomic swivel chairs. AccendaGen wasn't known for their interior decoration. Lisandro was there early of course, but he was hesitant to enter the room. His guilt felt like flashing neon signs above his head. If it wasn't for his excellent poker face, they might have suspected something long ago. He took a seat opposite the doorway, near the center of the table. He would continue working until the meeting commenced. Hopefully he would get into a flow that cleared his mind until then.

((ohh cool! another!))
