Eve tilted her head as he somewhat seemed to be thinking something over; she then looked back to her bowl, picking up one of the few remaining pieces to pop it into her mouth. That same smile spread across her face as his smirk changed ever so slightly, though she didn't entirely understand why it had changed.
All she really cared about was, astonishingly, it sounded like they might actually see one another again.
If that did end up happening, he would be the first guy aside from Eli that she'd seen more than once in any context in over three months.
"Next week, same time, same place?" She laughed softly at the mention of milkshakes, nodding her head. "Alright...though, I will admit, I'll demand a rematch if I lose." Her eyes widened a bit as a phone remarkably nearby chimed, glancing down at his jacket. "Um...is that you?"
Not sure if you home, but need help
Sparky could only hope that had actually been sent to Grave, rather than her sister, whose contact happened to be right above it (Genevieve). She didn't want to deal with her sister's judgment of her condition or be nagged about her handling of the situation with James, though she may be forced to if Grave didn't answer. Or, equally bad, said he wasn't actually home yet. Her head had somewhat begun to spin at this point; she'd thought downing the water would improve her situation, she wasn't too drunk to forget that water often helped if she needed it, but for some reason... Her eyes narrowed down at the glass in her hand as she swirled the clear liquid, the motion making her a touch dizzy.
Something told her it wasn't just water in that glass. Geez, Spark, really? You're better than this.
Eli sighed at Icarus' blatant support of Eve's hopefulness; if only the girl he were texting knew that he didn't want the second to have anything to do with any guy other than he himself. He was certain both Icarus and Sparky were aware of the fact he cared about eve in that context, but he was nearly positive that neither of them knew just how...dark those feelings tended to be at the same time.
I guess you'd be right, her positive outlook on the situation is probably in her best interest. While he appreciated the fact that Eve refused to give up on the whole thought of love, Eli also wanted her to give up on the concept of it with those not him. Oh, I'm just a few streets away, I'm in the park on Vermont Street. Do you want me to come find you?

"I'll be seeing you then." Dimitri said, his lips still posed in the familiar smirk. "And we'll see if a rematch is in order or not..." he added leaving the results open to the imagination. The familiar chime and buzz of his phone broke his attention. Located in his jacket's inner pocket to prevent it from going anywhere during his travels, he gave her an apologetic look. Even though phones were a big no-no for things like this he rarely got texts let alone contact from anyone so it typically ment that something was up. "I'm afraid that it was." he said while distractedly finding his phone and pulling it out. A single text showed up on his screen. The words and the sender wasn't something he could ignore though. Sparky could handle herself so the fact that she was asking for help meant that something was wrong. Unaware to him a slight frown at crept onto his face as he read the text. He'd already pulled it out and checked it, so he figured responding was the remaining damage he could do. [ I'm back in town. Where are you? What's wrong? ] Simple words, needing simple responses. But her answers would hopefully tell him what he needed to know. Mainly he just needed her location, which is why he asked that question first. Holding back a sigh he knew he should go help her but he also didn't want to leave just yet. It felt wrong, heck the girl had already been stood up earlier and she didn't need him leaving before the end. But then again Sparky was a friend and this girl was just a stranger he'd decided to sit with. He didn't have a lot of friends so they were always a top priority in his life. "A friend asking for help." he explained momentarily, figuring he at least owed her something for the interruption.
Icarus was happy to see Eli's response. She knew about his devotion towards Eve and that her friend didn't really want to acknowledge it. Or rather she just didn't feel the same way. Boys never knew how to take a no, did they? She knew he kept trying but she figured taking aa break from trying to win over Eve would be good for him. This seemingly unhealthy obsession wasn't going to end well if he couldn't accept her refusal. Emotions could get the better of you and she didn't want to see that happen to Eli. If he didn't let the matter go he'd only be hurting himself. [ Oh! I know the park you're talking about. Give me 5 minutes and I'll be there. Don't go anywhere. ] she responded. A park sounded like a wonderful break from all the shopping and blending in. Plus she could hopefully find something to draw. Or if Eli was in the mood to do something they could kill time that way. Regardless she was always a fan of having company. True to her word she started in the direction of the park, a pep in her step now that she had solid plans for once.

( Just so you know I might not be able to respond much tomorrow morning/afternoon. Got two church services tomorrow so I'll be busy helping out there. But I might be able to sneak in a post or two on mobile. I'll definitely try. )

Eve kept the same smile on her features, nodding in agreement to both seeing him again as well as a rematch. She didn't seem the least bit put off by the fact that his phone had gone off, watching as he slid a hand into his jacket and pulled out the noisemaker; she raised one shoulder in a slight shrug. "It's okay," she said easily, not at all bothered as he looked at whatever notification he had received, waving a hand to indicate his checking it was completely fine.
One eyebrow quirked up at the look that spread over his face as he read what appeared to be a text. He didn't seem to be very enthused by whatever he was reading, but she didn't try to say something as he shot a response back to whoever had messaged him. With a tilt of her head, Eve nodded at the explanation he offered.
Though, she had to admit, there was a moment where she realized it could have indeed have been something other than a friend. That led to an interesting emotion flickering at the edges of her mind, which she quickly shook off.
"Everything okay?" she asked quietly, giving a smile to the waiter as he blew by to drop off the check. She pulled it toward herself with one hand, not at all worried about paying for it. "You can head out, I wouldn't want to keep you if someone needs you." After a pause, Eve added on, "Besides, next week, I'm going to make you pay for milkshakes. And I'm Eve, by the way."
She hadn't entirely intended to give her name to him, but...it felt like something she should give him. A lightly cheeky comment followed: "That way you won't just have to call me winner next week."
Sparky couldn't even be mad at the clear liquid she'd found in her glass; after all, that's what she got for training the bartenders there that, should she ever ask for water, she actually wanted the exact opposite. The sharp taste of the alcohol had just taken a few sips for her to realize what it was. A sense of relief flooded her system as she took in the blurry response that he was indeed in town, quickly texting back before she could forget what she was trying to accomplish, which was...
...securing assistance home! Right. She wouldn't ask
Usual place drunk jerk broke my shoe dont wanna ask sis She was somewhat aware of the fact that Grave would completely not understand what she was talking about, given her lack of punctuation, but at least he'd be able to know where she was; she came here often enough and he'd known her long enough at this point
He gave a partial smile as he read over Icarus' response; the girl always seemed to be somewhat cheery, though her message hadn't necessarily gotten that across. But he knew her general excitement when it came to being around others, so he could rather sense her happiness at the concept of being around someone. Eli liked Icarus too, so being around another friend of his wasn't a bad idea.
Especially since, if he was with Icarus when Eve said she got home, it gave him a completely justifiable reason to tag along and ask after what had ended up transpiring.
Alright, I'm on the bench under the big oak tree in the center near the fountain. With that said, he cast his gaze up to the darkening sky. No particular ideas of what he could do with Icarus were coming to him, so perhaps they would just enjoy the park and one another's company. He shrugged. They'd figure it out once she found him.

Dimitri shrugged at her question, not entirely knowing the correct answer to it. He hoped that everything was okay. "Hopefully." he muttered a bit distractedly while trying to return his focus to what it had been before being interrupted. In his slightly distracted state he wasn't quick enough to snatch the check. He just got back and things were already becoming interesting. Wonderful. And since it was Sparky it probably wasn't anything good. It never was. He inwardly relaxed when she gave him permission to leave, it at least made him feel a little less guilty about the unexpected ending. Surprisingly he realized that he had, in fact, enjoyed the small amount of time that they had shared. His trademark smirk slipped back onto his face as a result to her words. "Well then Eve, we'll see who's paying for shakes next week then. Although I have a feeling you'll be needing your wallet then." he said teasingly. "But you don't need it now." he added, casually plucking the little paper from her hand. A simple glance over told him everything he needed to know. The total wasn't bad, at all. He knew of plenty of other places that could break the bank as easily as he could lift weights. "I'll be seeing you next week then. Better start practicing." he commented, that ever present smirk still there. He slid out of the booth, standing up figuring he'd take his leave. There was no use in keeping Sparky waiting. She'd only complain if he didn't get there soon enough. "I guess I should go though. But you take care of yourself babe." he said, knowing what the streets were like for anyone alone. Especially for pretty ladies. She probably drove herself or walked, since usually the guy would pick the girl up. He decided to throw in the silly name he'd started the evening with, teasingly of course but he was still serious about her being safe. While he spoke he pulled out his wallet, counting out a few bills to pay for the check that he'd handle on the way out the door.
Icarus found the park easily. She'd seen it on multiple occasions and visited it a handful of times before now. The small walk was good for her spirit, but it left her with more time with her thoughts. She hoped that Eve's date was going well. She'd told her friend to text her when she got home so they could talk about tonight. She found Eli right where he said he was, walking up from behind the bench he was sitting on. Sneaking up fro behind she quickly swooped in with a hug from behind. "Hi Eli!" she chimed, pleased with herself and now in the company of a friend. Hugs were her standard greeting card, and although it seemed that she wanted to hug everyone she mainly only hugged her friends. They were the only ones seemed able to at least tolerate it. For her hugs were a medicine, they helped to cheer up someone who was in a bad mood or make their good day better. Plus hugs meant love and you can lie about the love one feels in a hug. Everyone loved being loved on, even the toughest angels. "How are you?" she asked, after releasing him from her hug.

Her head tilted to one side at his distracted tone. Eve felt a bit bad about whatever message he'd gotten, as it seemed to have somewhat derailed him in the way it had. There wasn't a guess that she had regarding what it could have been, and she wasn't about to be nosy about it either. She smiled slightly at the sound of her name, for some reason liking the way that he said it.
Stop it, Eve. You had a good time with him, yes, but don't try to make it into anything else. You're cursed, remember? The memory of Sparky calling her string of bad dates "proof of a curse" ran through her mind, her happy expression faltering for a heartbeat before settling back into place.
She was amused when her playful comment had gotten that same smirk back onto his face, though she made a soft surprised sound when he easily pulled the receipt she'd been inspecting from her hand before she could get a really good look at the number on it. "Hey-" she began, looking up at him as he slid out of the booth; she couldn't help but feel a smidge of yearning for the kind of attentiveness he was inadvertently showing her. She didn't know many people who would up and drop what they were doing to run after a friend, outside of her small circle...and even Sparky couldn't even always be depended on as she was often tied up with her own issues.
Dimitri didn't look like he was about to hand over the check, so she let it go. "I really think you should be practicing; I think we both know I'm the soup champion here," Eve commented as he stood up. A blush unfurled across her cheeks before she was entirely aware of it in response to the nickname, rolling her eyes slightly. "You too, dear," she returned, tilting her head to try and hide the color once again in her face as she slowly stood from her side of the table. "Do try to leave the gym earlier next time."
She didn't pay much attention to the bills in his hand as much as the action, which prompted her to comment, "I almost hope I have to pay for milkshakes, just to balance this out." Eve genuinely hadn't expected him to cover the food, she hadn't even expected the man she'd intended to meet there to cover it. "But thank you." The expression of gratitude was quiet, and she would follow just a bit behind him on his way out of the diner.
"Give me water," Sparky snapped, shoving the glass across the bar back toward the bartender. "Actual water. Not bein' cheeky, not looking for-no, I do not want a drink," she continued ranting at the person who had approached the bar to her right. He gave her a concerned look before taking his two drinks from the bartender and setting off back the way he'd come, while she shot a glance around for her shoes, which had now wound up on the floor beneath the stool she was perched unevenly on.
She could only imagine the condescending look her perfect, innocent, angel sister would give her when she caught sight of Sparky's condition.
"Get here soon," she mumbled as she rested her head against the bar, somewhat upset by the fact that she didn't know where her shoes were. She only looked up at the sound of a new glass being set beside her head, which had ice in it; she could only hope this one was actual water, unlike the last one.
That's what she got for training the bartenders to never give her water.
Eli had been looking up, his hands folded in his lap as he watched the stars slowly appeared in the darkening sky. He was somewhat tuning out the sounds of the people around him, the chattering and laughter and various noises that humans made just by being in the same area. Angels were never like that when around one another, rather they were quiet and reserved, even with those that they were familiar with.
Well, most of them were. Sparky had always rebuked the rules, and Icarus had always been overly happy with just about everyone-
"Ah!" he exclaimed as a pair of arms wrapped around him from behind his bench. The sharp comment he'd been about to make died out at the familiar sound of Icarus' happy voice; Eli may have a temper every now and again and didn't always have the best disposition for an angel, but he did his best to not let that side of him show when she was around. She was entirely too kind and bubbly to have that attitude around her.
"What is with you sneaking up on me?" he asked, though he made no movement to escape her hold on him. He squeezed her arms gently before she let go, as he couldn't well return the hug from where she'd caught him. "One of these days, Icarus, honestly..." Eli let the comment go unfinished as he patted the bench beside him. "I'm alright, feeling a little overworked at the moment."
That was both a joke and serious; between dividing his time laywaying Eve's potential dates and pulling extra shifts as one of the workers at the hospital a few cities away, he didn't have all that much free time. Eli very much enjoyed what he did at the hospital, as it was a children's hospital. He genuinely enjoyed being around the kids, taking them on 'trips' to other places besides their rooms or reading them various books.
He actually couldn't remember the last time he had hung out with any of the girls, or anyone in general. "What's been going on with you? Sorry I haven't been the best at contact."

Dimitri slid a casual glance her way as she countered by saying that he was the one who needed to practice. Please. As if. Besides he was the one who suggested it. Regardless a faint upward twitch of his lips showed his amusement at her concern. When she reminded him to leave the gym earlier, continuing the little act he couldn't but chuckle. "Yes hon." he said teasingly. His head tilted slightly as she spoke about offsetting the cost by paying for shakes next time. "You'll probably have to." he said with goodhearted banter but he gave a sincere nod, acknowledging and accepting her thanks. Making sure he had his few things he started towards the doors, taking a minute to drop off the cash and leave a few words with the waiter. With that done he led them out of the diner, pulling out the keys to his motorcycle. "I will see you next week." he said, looking back at Eve, his words a farewell without truly saying goodbye. Almost suddenly he asked, "Do you need a ride?" torn between offering or not. Granted he was a stranger and was expecting a simple no but he figured he might as well offer.
Han had too much fun with what was called people watching, and he loved to keep a close eye on anyone who caught his attention. For either good reasons or bad, Sparky had ended up catching Han's interest. He'd already considered the idea of turning her water into vodka or some other alcoholic beverage but it seemed that that wasn't necessary. Heck, between the time in the alley and now she seemed to wasted herself faster than he'd expected. As much as he loved seeing poeple flounder he wasn't cruel. The girl seemed to making a big fuss for water and it seemed that the bartending staff weren't wanting to comply. Wrong on their part. He allowed himself to take a casual tour among the pool tables before sauntering over and sliding into the avilable seat next to Sparky. "Two beers for the lady and a bottle of water for me. My tab." he said once he caught one of the bartender's attention. He had no intentions of drinking the water but from his observations it seemed they weren't willing to give it to her directly. Something which he didn't understand. "Something the matter sweetheart?" he asked Sparky, not sure how drunk she actually was. The least he could do was perhaps keep her from making more of a mess of herself.
Icarus giggled at Eli's obvious surprise, "You're going to what?" she teased, knowing his threat was an empty one. She plopped herself next to him, setting her purse on the bench next to her where she could keep an eye on it. She smoothed out her skirt after sitting, listening to Eli's answer to her inquiry. She supposed busy was better than bored. He just needed to take care of himself at the same time though. But she could understand why the hospital was busy, they always were. She had always wanted to visit the hospital where he worked, to her it sounded like a delight to work with the children all day. Perhaps one of these days she'd show up unannounced to tag along and meet some of the kids. When he gave her the floor to speak she seemed more excited than usual. Time to catch up on everything. "I got a new store! It's a lot bigger than the first one and it's not terribly far away so I still get to keep my regular customers. You should come see it sometime." she offered still pleased with the upgrade and for finding the building. One of her passions was floral arangments a byproduct of learning that flowers and plants had a language all of their own. Each plant had a different meaning and when you combined them together the overall affect was stunning in her opinion. Apprently she had enough customers who liked her arrangments and claimed they did more than they had expected. She loved hearng the sotries that walked in the door, half of which started out bad but with her help they all returned with positive feedback. She loved her job to bits and wouldn't trade it for anything else. Unfortunently her new shop was right next to a tattoo parlor. Honestly she hadn't realized what the place was until she bought the building, but she hoped the cliente there wouldn't affect her business. "But seriously, you should come see it when I'm done moving everything! I've got about half of the stuff moved, hopefully we can finish the rest this week and then I'll need another week to organize everything and set up again. Thankfully I have a few orders due in the middle of the moving so I won't have to be setting up the whole time. But one of the orders is for a wedding and oh. My. Gosh. The bride is stunning in her dress. She showed me pictures, and it just beautiful on her. I almost wish I could be there just to see her wearing it in person. She's so excited for the wedding. And her fiance seems like a charming guy." she explained, loving it when she could talk about her clients. All of them had a story to share and there were a few which she adored. "It sits right next door to a tattoo parlor though. I didn't realize what the place was until about I bought the lease. But it doesn't look like your typically tattoo place so I hope it doesn't have a negative affect with my customers. I plan to go in and talk to the owner or whoever, hopefully start things off on the right foot. Get to know your neighbors kind of deal. Oh! Don't tell Eve or Sparky about the shop. Your the only one who knows so far." she said, still giddy with excitement. She;d been wanting to find a larger place for a while now and now that it was finally happening she was thrilled to pieces. "Now enough about me. Tell me a story. How are the kids? Did you do anything fun recently?" she asked, needing to know about what he'd been doing since the last time they'd talked.

Eve automatically colored slightly at Dimitri’s nickname. She’d never been much for pet names, or at least had never been much for receiving them; she often nicknamed her friends and even her sister, but rarely got any in return. Even the tongue-in-cheek playful ones that he was tossing at her. She was always Eve, just Eve.
She rolled her eyes jokingly at his comment that she’d probably have to cover the shakes next week; they’d see about that. But as he accepted her thanks and handed in the right amount of money to cover the dinner, she couldn’t quite bring herself to make any jokes. This guy…showed up after someone else had obviously left her hanging, kept her company through dinner, and even covered it at the end. Yes, the end of the evening had been a bit rushed, but his devotion to whoever it was that had texted him was admirable.
She paused as the diner door swung shut behind them, closing them off from the volume of the people enjoying their food inside. It was surprisingly quiet outside without the patrons’ chatter. A smile flickered across her face again at his not-goodbye, more than happy to avoid the word; it was one of the hardest to say, and one of the hardest to hear sometimes.
“Next week,” she agreed, before being taken aback by his sudden offer. Her eyes were wide as she blinked up at him, her head tilted to one side. Under normal circumstances…her answer would have been no; she didn’t know this man and, judging by his outfit, he had a motorcycle, which was something she’d never been on before in her life. It was the exact sort of thing she’d always been raised to avoid, yet she was very tempted to thwart the rules just for this once-
But none of that was why she declined.
“Someone needs you,” Eve said simply, giving a shake of her head. “I don’t want to get in the way of that; where I’m staying isn’t far from here.” On complete impulse, driven by a sudden boldness that hardly ever appeared, she approached Dimitri and leaned up onto her tiptoes, dropping a quick kiss on his cheek in thanks. It was something she’d question herself for a lot later, she was sure.
“Thank you, again.” With that, she turned in the direction of Sparky’s apartment to hide the blush creeping back onto her face; she would hurry off toward home unless he said anything else.
Sparky rolled her eyes slightly at the sound of someone taking the stool beside hers, though she didn’t move until said person spoke. An irritated expression settled on her features as she turned her head, looking up at Han through narrowed eyes; drunk or not, she knew that face. “You broke my shoe,” she accused, thoroughly disregarding both his order and the nickname he’d applied to her. If this had been an average day, she would’ve smacked him for calling her that. Her drunk self didn’t seem to mind it much.
“And you don’t need to get me water,” she grumbled, as a bartender brought forth the drinks the man beside her had ordered. Had she assumed that’s what he’d gotten the water for? Certainly. No one in here drink anything other than water, since James had left.
Ugh, him. The thought of the human ***** was nearly enough to make her throw up. She’d known ever since meeting him that he wasn’t her type and it wouldn’t go well. Sparky didn’t even know what her type was as much as she knew what it wasn’t.
It also wasn’t this pale-blond haired guy who was entirely responsible for ruining her favorite shoes.
“Why are you”-she was interrupted by a hiccup here, covering her mouth with both hands-“over here? Weren’t you having enough fun”-another hiccup-“watching from wherever?”
Eli sighed; they both knew his threat had nothing behind it. He raised an eyebrow as she rounded the bench, taking a seat and easily adjusting herself, listening to his brief explanation for his absence. He’d never be able to admit how much of his absence had actually had to do with the travelling associated with getting in Eve’s way. Goodness knew both Eve and Icarus knew he needed to give up on chasing the first, but they all knew he was far from having given up.
He smiled at the mention of Icarus opening a new shop; he knew full well of the angel’s love of flowers and how much she loved the shop she currently had, though her charming disposition, endless energy, and beautiful smile had somewhat caused the shop to grow a bit faster than anticipated. That warranted needing a larger space, and how lucky she had to be in order to get another larger place nearby the first one. A nod followed her invitation to see it, as he didn’t want to interrupt what he was sure to be quite the speech regarding the new location.
“Just tell me when and where and I’ll be there.” Icarus was something like Eve in the way that he’d do just about anything she asked without really needing an explanation. “And you should’ve told me earlier, I would’ve been happy to help you move, you know that.” A moment of silence passed as the girl went on to talk about one of her current orders being for a wedding; without meaning to, he thought back to the wedding he’d promised Eve, if nothing else panned out.
The problems that had stemmed from that promise…
“That’s good. Weddings are such a big deal, especially to the humans.” He had been to a few over the years, with various friends that he’d known, though most of those friends were people he was no longer in contact with for various reasons… It had proven to be rather hard to keep any non-angel friends once marriage came into the picture; family became the primary focus for everyone then. “But what’s wrong with the tattoo parlor?”
For a moment, he forgot who he was sitting next to. He knew humans who had tattoos, and the ink in their skin was absolutely no reflection of their person, despite the thoughts applied to them by angels. Angels generally thought they were a note in regards to a person’s morality just due to the fact that fallen angels tended to have quite a few.
Angels tended to be rather small-minded in that respect. Good thing Eli’s own tattoo was easily hidden.
“I doubt it will affect much, especially if you go in there and treat them to some of that patented Icarus charm.” He laughed gently at the mention of her going to talk to the neighbors, nodding again at the request not to tell the other two girls. “I won’t; it’s your story to share. And for me…” Eli trailed off, considering what exactly there was to report. “Well, Michael’s white blood cell counts have improved, so the latest configuration of chemotherapy and radiation seems to be helping the kid. Hoping he’ll be good enough to play baseball in the fall when he starts high school. God, he’s been through more than any kids should have to be.
Riley is holding steady, so that’s good. Her checkup is next week, we’ll see how that pans out. And of course little Annelise is still convinced she’s going to marry me.” He chuckled at that, shaking his head slightly. The little girl was adorable, it was nearly impossible not to agree whenever she mentioned it. “Her numbers aren’t so great though; the medicine itself isn’t working anymore, so they’ve had to move her into chemo.”
Eli sighed then, massaging his temples. Annelise was a tiny ball of sunshine, giggly and happy, always wanting another story, another trip around the hallways, another gummy bear. “She’s started losing her hair.” He could still hear her confused voice asking why her blonde hair was littering the pillow around her, why dark spots had started popping up and wouldn’t fade. It was awful to have to watch some of the things the kids went through…
“…but she’s still keeping it together a lot better than I could in her situation.” Eli shrugged. His job had a lot of bad associated with it just because of the kinds of things that tended to happen in childrens’ cancer wards, but there was a lot of joy and a lot of small victories to be celebrated as well. Every day those kids fought through was something to be proud of. “It’s hard but I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. I miss you guys though, I’m sorry I’ve gotten so busy; Annelise has been asking for me more, and her parents are willing to pay for me to be there extra hours so...would do it without being paid, but really will do it with being paid.”

Dimitri was thankful for the quiet the night had brought, letting her think over her answer to his offer. He could already tell from the surprised look that crossed her face that the answer would be no. Hell, he was expecting it to be. Based on what he'd seen tonight she wasn't anything like the crowd he usually hung with so she'd probably never touched a bike before in her life. He nodded slightly as she mentioned that someone needed him, taking the rejection and truth in stride. He felt better that he at least offered, though he knew he'd feel even better if he could take her home that way he'd know for a fact that she was safe. But she'd made her choice and he wasn't one to offer things again if they'd already been declined once. When she started to approach him his mind flickered into a slight panic. Why was she coming close? Perhaps it was for a hug, hell humans did that sometimes to show their appreciation. Problem was he wasn't much of a hugger, or so he led himself to believe. Once she got close enough he could read the subtle signs and they weren't indicating a hug as he'd believed. He paused for a moment not sure of what she was doing until she lightly planted a kiss on his cheek. He blinked, surprised at the gesture but was even more confused about what it meant or was for. He nodded as she thanked him again, managing a few words in response even though she was already leaving. "Yeah, sure. No problem." He watched her go for a few seconds, judging the direction she was going and trying to pull himself back together. He'd never been in a relationship and had never tried to be in one. Namely because he wasn't someone easy to be with and he was well aware of that. Plus it seemed impossible. He wouldn't age and there'd be some explaining to do, or just leaving like he usually did. The fact that he was a fallen angel was one of those issues. How do you explain that to someone? And fallen was never good. Why wasn't he a regular angel? What did he do? Hell they'd run to the ends of the earth to escape him if they knew. He sighed before turning in the other direction and walking to his bike. She seemed like a nice girl and he knew he was probably, no was, too cruel for her. And now he'd being seeing her again. What had he gotten himself in to? He threw his leg over the bike and sat down before using the key to start the ignition. He figured he'd check his phone to see if Spark told him where she was. Her last text didn't have a name but there was enough information that he could guess at her location, hopefully it was the right one. Taking his helmet he pulled it on then proceeded to kick the stand up and with a turn of the trottle he was off. Off to go help Sparky.
Han arched a brow at her accusation. "Me? Break your shoe? Darling I don't know what you're talking about. Why would I want to do that? Besides your shoe is fine. Although I wouldn't recommend wearing them in your condition." he said, bending over to swipe her heels up from where they'd landed. Just like he said her shoes were in perfect condition, the one that he had in fact broken the heel from was now fixed and looked brand new. Although he loved to break things he could sure slap them back together again. He set her heels on the counter so she could look at them. Accepting the drinks the bartender brough over he slid the bottled water to her before popping one of the tops off of the beer. He'd spesifically asked for bottled water to that they couldn't try to weasle their ways into giving him something other than water. At her words he only shot her a sly grin. "Oh yes you do need me to get you water." he cooed, not letting her tell him otherwise. Besides she was throwing a fit about wanting some earlier and so here it was. If she changed her mind, whatever, he could care less. He flipped himself around, having no intentions of leaving, not when she seemed lucid enough to talk. He kept his back pressed against the bar counter while resuming his observing. At her broken up question he chuckled, simply amused by her current condition. "Oh yes. I was enjoying myself over there but now I think I'll enjoy myself over here." he said before taking a sip of his beer. "I do hope you have a friend coming to get you." he inquired, having noted that she was on her phone earlier.
Icarus nodded, pleased with his willingness to come see the place at some point. After she got set up she hoped to invite all her friends over for the weekend, to show them th shop but mainly so that they could all catch up with one another again. She nodded but still waved off his offer of help. She had movers and besides; he was busy at the hospital where the kids needed him. She wasn't about to take him away from that. She shrugged when he asked about the issues with the tattoo place. She supposed they really was none even though her imagination told her otherwise but she'd always been led to believe that tattoos were almost a disgrace to one's body. You were suposed to treat your body as a temple to the Lord and defacing it with ink seemed like enough reason for her to not be entirely happy with it's existence. Granted the tattoos themselves weren't evil but the clientel tended to be of the rougher side. She listened patiently as he spoke of his charges, the children he was in charge of at the hospital. Every time he talked about them she always feel in love with the kids. On of these days she was going to meet them in person. She wished that she could just drag her brother in there and have him heal every single one of the patients. But he'd told her everyday that he couldn't. It wasn't he place to decide who got to live and who didn't. And besides he didn't have enough energy or power from heaven to heal an entire hospital. She held back a sigh, as always, hoping and praying for the best for these children. "You should come and visit when you have the time. You know we always have a room available. Besides, I think Jay could use some company other than all of us girls." she said knowing that it would be good for her brother, and for Eli, to have some other interact than with those they saw all the time. Her older brother Jay was the centerpiece of her world it seemed. To strangers on the street they were constantly mistaken to be a couple due to the close bond between the two. To her Jay was an older brother and more or less a father in many aspects. Each depended on the other to the point where if something happens to one of them the other can't seem to function. As an angel Jay managed to specialize in the art of healing. He only did minor preformances though, hoping to stop issues before they became worse. Of course healing was a fickle thing as he put it. He could preform the healing and depending on God's will he would successful or the healing wouldn't work. Angels were meant to help carry out God's plans and even they couldn't tamper with them. She had a feeling that he only told her about the successful stories, knowing how she got when a healing didn't work. Jay was special, no he was unique. As a human he'd been born blind and even as angel he prefered to remain blind. To many it was an odd request but it seemed that whoever he'd pleaed to had been willing to fulfill it. He stilled claimed that he could see, perhaps not with his eyes but with his senses. Regardless Icarus was almost happy with the fact that her brother had requested to remain blind. It made it feel as if things had never changed. But she tried to drown and forget all about her human life, prefer to lie to herself and pretend that she had been nothing but an angel. Even her brother did his best to forget about their lives before, and never mentioned the past.
