Who is WrittenBadly?
Sometimes referred to as WB by Founders for shorthand, WrittenBadly is the reason this group exists. FR aRtP is her brainchild. She laid out the fundamentals of how this group should function and dubbed the beginning group Founders.
Sadly, she had to leave our group due to real life becoming hectic. (She's gonna be a mom! o:) We wish her well, and hope that she knows she's always welcome to come back.
How often is registration?
Registration open and closes as the moderators see fit. If we feel that we have many inactive members, we may open registration until we feel that we have enough to continue having a fun atmosphere.
What are the rules on powerplaying?
The moderators of this group understand that some users do not appreciate having their characters yanked around and controlled. However, we also understand that sometimes in order to get a roleplay rolling, minor controlling is needed.
We define powerplaying as such:
Quote:
Powerplaying is the unnecessary taking control of another person’s roleplay character, which can sometimes cause that character to act in a way they would not normally.
Here are examples of what
is and what is
not accepted.
This IS Powerplaying wrote:
Rusty ran up to Shadow, insulted by his intrusion, and slashed him across the face.
“OUCH! I’m sorry,” Shadow wept.
This IS powerplaying because Shadow’s owner did not get a chance to remove Shadow from harm.
And acceptable alternative would have been
“Rusty ran up to Shadow, insulted by his intrusion, and aimed a slash at his face. He hoped to drive him off or have Shadow apologize.”
Shadow’s owner now has a chance to remove Shadow from harm in their response.
This is NOT Powerplaying wrote:
Rusty lead Shadow to the mouth of the cave and convinced him to follow him further. “It’ll be alright,” he said.
Shadow pursed his lips, but followed.
This is NOT powerplaying because Shadow’s owner still has a chance to reply with something like “Shadow’s fear of the dark kept him from following for more than three feet before turning back”. They still have a chance to alter the outcome.
If you are 100% uncomfortable with people possessing your characters, please say so at the top of your responses, so that no one forgets.
Remember,
if you are planning on possessing another character, read through their bio. Try to keep them in-character as much as you can. If they’re a lucky dragon, mention that in your response. This is a friendly roleplay, and we don’t want needless drama.
If you feel that someone is repeatedly powerplaying, or continually possessing your character even though you have requested them not to, please contact @
Arcanabean, @
DandyElise, or @
SolarGriffin. We will handle the situation as best we can.
Do we always have to draw?
Truly, this question should be,
do we always have to create? The answer is yes. The point of FR aRtP is to push ourselves to better our skills by continually creating. While writing is a pivotal part of roleplaying,
there should always be a visual piece to your response, or no points will be awarded.

See: How are points awarded?
What mediums are allowed?
Mediums that are allowed: traditional drawings, digital drawings, sculpting/modeling, and animation.
One stipulation to using a sculpting/modeling approach: each response must have varying details. Whether this be the lighting, background/foreground, props, dragon expression, or your dragon's apparel, is up to you. You can only use the same dragon model if you follow these guidelines.
Are genes awarded in a specific order?
You can award your dragon its genes in whichever order you like. Be sure to know that each gene costs an amount of points before you can actually use it.
The order you equip your genes in can be lore or rp relevant, as well as the type of genes your dragon receives.
How are points awarded? Who keeps track? How can I view my progress?
Points are awarded by comparing your submission(s) to our rubric.

How This Group Works post
Our judging panel is lead by @
Kuriptonic, and they keep track of all points awarded and removed for gene purchases/etc.

here.
What breed restrictions do I face in the beginning?
None! As long as the dragon is born on the day you join and is triple basic, said dragon can be any breed you want it to be.
Why do our dragons all star out as triple basic?
An excerpt from our lore, written by @
Solargriffin:
Circe Lore wrote:
The sorceress perfected a magical potion and sent her familiars to steal the eggs of the most beautiful and loving dragon pairs they could find. She would treat the eggs with her potion, causing the unborn dragon within to lose all their genes. Once the spell had worked its damage, the familiars redistributed the eggs and report back to their mistress.
Essentially, from a lore standpoint, Circe removes the genes from your dragon so that it can fight its way to the top to earn new ones. From an RP Group standpoint, it’s a way to incentivize creative, in-depth RPs through a points system.
What if I can’t afford genes?
The group has a Gene Bank to help ease the financial burden of genes for new or casual players. But please be respectful and only ask for assistance if you truly need it as the Bank is funded by your fellow members.
How do I contribute to the Gene Bank?
If you would like to donate, please
PM @
SolarGriffin, our treasurer. She will be happy to discuss details with you.
Are there any rules on apparel, accents, or familiars?
An excerpt from our rules written by @
Arcanabean:
Rules on apparel and accents wrote:
No full skins allowed, but accents are allowed if the dragon’s primary, secondary, and tertiary (once gened) are visible to a reasonable degree.
Apparel is obviously allowed, but the dragon’s primary, secondary, and tertiary (once gened) must be visible to a reasonable degree.
An excerpt from our beginning Founder document.
Rules on familiars wrote:
The main 3 familiars Circe transfigures dragons into were umbra wolves (or gale wolves), deadwood boars (or barkback boars), and smoky bantam fangars (or golden bantam fangars)—aka. the wolves, swines, & lions in the mythology.
Your dragon can have any familiar equipped, though your lore must explain why the familiar assigned by Circe transferred responsibility to another.
Are there any rules on stat leveling our dragons?
Your dragon, should there be stats in their written bio, should not have stats totaling to more than 27 out of 50 possible. Please refer to Registration Requirements in Arcanabean’s
How This Group Works post.
Official coli stats in the game do not matter in our RP. You can stat them any way you want to.
