Celeste cowered in the tall grass as the wind blew the flames to be ever stronger around her. She could hear the bad men yelling as they chased her friends. She wanted to go home, but her home was burning down. She didn't know where her sister, Carmeli, was, but she hoped she was okay.
Footsteps were coming towards her at a rapid rate. She looked up and saw that it was one of the bad men. She looked up, her eyes wide with terror, as glared down at her angrily and began to raise his spear toward her. His spear came crashing down on her.

Celeste jolted awake. Her heart still pounding, she got up and moved hesitantly out of her room. When she made her way out of the den, she was surprised to find the sunlight pouring down on her. It was early morning.
"Well, good morning."
Celeste jumped, letting out a little squeak, and turned around to find Qadira grinning at her, looking groggy. She must have also just awoken.
"You scared me!" Celeste croaked; she may have been awake, but her voice wasn't yet. "How'd you sleep?"
"Pretty good, considering no creepy dragons appeared to me in the night," Qadira said, looking sly. "Did that really happen, or was it just a rumor? I can't believe everything Electrum tells me."
Celeste looked off toward the dawn. "It happened. I'm just not sure what it means."
Qadira was silent.
Celeste looked back at her and, wanting desperately to change the subject, asked, "So what did you and Quorra do when you got back last night?"
Qadira seemed almost embarrassed when she said, "Well, Quorra and I were too tired to go back out, so we stayed inside and talked to the other dragons in the clan."
Celeste frowned at the statement. "So, nothing exciting happened?"
Qadira paused. "I talked to Sky."
Celeste looked at Qadira questioningly. "And?"
Qadira looked Celeste in the eyes.
"I think I like Sky," Qadira said, and she rushed off, trying to keep a smile off her face.
Celeste looked back out into the dawn and let herself smile. No matter how many dangers the Horizon Clan faced, new love always seemed to occur.
