Dragonhome was once again bustling with life, and many a dragon, big and small, set out to search for the Nocturne dragons’ coveted treasures. Most of these dragons, having experienced a Night of the Nocturne before, knew the surprise and disappointment that was so intricately woven into the hunt for Strange Chests and shifty mimics. Some of the young treasure hunters however would still have to experience the unpleasant sight of those intriguing boxes turning to dust. It would be a valuable lesson for the next year. A small group of treasure hunters had set out from their clan in Cairnstone Rest. Odd, unexplainable pillars and stone figures had begun sprouting from the cracked soil all across Dragonhome, popping up like mushrooms during Autumn time. Although deemed harmless by the few brave enough to run up and touch the strange structures, some of the elders seemed worried about the odd occurrence. Pixies and sprites began spreading the rumors that the statues had moved, causing curious hatchlings to scatter in fright. Youngsters had laughed at the display, trotting around and clambering onto the statues. Everything seemed fine-- until some of the young dragons had been found totally petrified, turned into rock-solid statues of their former selves. Scrolls and tomes were consulted on how to reverse the strange occurrence, but most of the ancient pages remained vague and cryptic about the possible solutions.[/columns] [columns][font=Century Gothic][size=5][size=5][b]I[/b][/size]ntrigued, the group of treasure hunters followed the trail of petrified dragons and stone statues through Dragonhome, and by sundown they arrived at the southeast border of Earth’s territory. The group fell silent once they laid eyes on a giant edifice, craning their necks to look up at the structure. Tall, crumbled stone walls protruded from the soggy soil, the old brick covered in moss and roots. The maze’s entrypoint was dark, yet beckoning, and it wasn’t until the group noticed a small dragon jumping around near the entrance that they slowly moved forward. “Welcome, younglings! Whadd’ya think of me maze? Pretty cool huh?” the Fae dragon chirped, waving a slender arm towards the ominous construction. “Uncovered it all by meself! Took all night!” The group murred and rumbled suspiciously, much to the Fae’s annoyance. “Whaddya mean ‘that’s not possible’?! How dare ya question me powers!?” the small dragon hissed, fluttering into the air. “Well then, if yer all so brave, why don’t ya head on in, huh? See if ye got what it takes to make it back out!” The group huffed, the dragons giving each other a glance. Then, without hesitation, the young dragons set foot into the maze.
