They'd somehow gotten luge sleds big enough to fit an imperial. She kept down the urge to chitter like a hatchling being given gifts as the attendants helped her put on protective gear. She'd done this before, several times, and found that it suited her. A Wind dragon craved speed, no matter how large - and this, well, this could really get one moving. The immense Imperial lowered herself to a supine position, wings carefully folded behind her. She grasped the sled with her forepaws and grinned at the sky above. The guardian shared an awkward concerned glance with the tiny green fae perched on her head, then gave a slight shrug as their companion headed off for the starting area. "She might do it," the fae commented in the monotone typical of his species as they watched her go. Tenarith glanced upwards, uncertain if the fae was doubtful or confident, but she couldn't see enough of him to even guess at his body language. Resigned, she just sighed quietly and agreed, "She might."

Listen up here, maggots," Peach started off as she looked at the three other girls in front of her. "We are going to win this thing!" "I mean, there really isn't a reason to call us 'maggots'," Eira muttered to Étaín who stood silently next to Nephele. The four Coatls were chosen on the sole reasoning that, "well, they are all females and they are all Coatls, so they should get along, right?" The answer wasn't wrong, but it wasn't right either. Eira and Étaín were the silent, stand offish two of the group. They trusted the shadows and the darkness in which they worked closely with. And despite Peach's job, she was outgoing and chipper like Nephele. Though, the hot-tempered Nephele had only that in common with Peach. "Did you remember to bring the gear?" Nephele asked. "Otherwise, we're all going to visit Bethamar after this game is over." "I got it, I got it," Peach said as she pushed the box towards her clanmates. "So, from my understanding, we just have one person push the rock and the others use brooms?" "It's more than that," Étaín said, "we have to actually work together. Which ever team has the most rocks closest to the center of the house wins." "Translation?" Peach called. "It's like darts. There's a circle on the floor. Closest to the center wins. Brooms are used to shave down the bumpy ice so the rock slides with ease. One person throws, two people sweep, one person stops." Nephele said as she pushed her reading glasses up her non-exisitant nose. "What were the names of the two who use the brooms to shave down the ice?" Eira asked Nephele. "They change," Nephele said. She then went on to briefly explain what each position was and wasn't shocked with both Eira and Étaín both agreed to be the Lead and Second. The two got along well enough that they could put the team well off in the beginning of the end. But then it would be up to their teamwork to help carry the team through. "I'll be the Vice," Peach declared and Nephele tilted her head. "You don't want to be the Skip?" "Of course not! I'm not the one who knows all about this game, you do. Your the brains. I'll work with you, just tell me where these rocks need to go." The four girls put on all their gear, gathered their equipment and headed out to the rink were they would play their first and maybe only game of curling. "We can do this," Peach said softly as the other gathered in a circle. "It's about working together. Do our bests and we might be able to sleep tonight," Nephele softly warned. "Melar wants results, not failures. Alright?" "Right." "Alright girls," Nephele smiled, "likes go out there and do our best."

As Winterdance line up with the rest of her competitors, she stares infront with a determined look, and flies off when the starting horn blew. She will win this.

Stretching his tiny arms and rolling his shoulders, he looked down the curving tunnel that sloped down the side of the mountain. "W-why did they pick me, again?" he warbled. "Explanation," said his mate, Honour, in her Fae drone. "According to my calculations. You are the dragon most likely to both descend the course in the fastest time. And survive." For some reason Dairo did not look any more enthused about going down the chute. But, he was a Battleleader of his clan. He had faced a giant tentacle monster in [s]Starwind[/s] the Bay! Surely he could handle a little slide down a wee mountain. He gulped, then asked, "W-what do I need to do?" "Attention. Here is your sled." Honor brought out a small, flat thing that looked as if it had been made to fit perfectly beneath Dairo's feet. Yet when the coatl went to stand on it, she shooed him off of it. "Direction. Lie down on it," she said." "You mean...like this? But where do I put my..." Dairo had to fuss around a bit before he managed to settle his bottom and his back atop the sled in a manner that -felt- more or less balanced. But his legs were still sticking over the edge, which was something, considering how short his legs were. "Are you -sure- it's supposed to be like this?" "Confidence. Yes. Explanation. I have studied the designs of many sleds of this type. Seeking the perfect and most aerodynamic form. Conclusion. This is the best sled for this competition. Theorization. Also. If you fall off of it. Your gembond plates will protect you from internal injuries." "...Yay?" Dairo said, a short, bewildered note. Honour fluttered her wings quickly in order to push the coatl and his sled to the very edge of the luge course. "Colloquial saying. Catch you on the flip side." Dairo felt the edge of the sled teetering over a point of no return. Then, there was one last flit of Honour's wings, and he felt himself going forward...and DOWN. So far down. For so long. Honour spread her wings and glided down toward the finish line, following the constant music of Dairo's scream.

Dairo carefully set his new rapier atop his pile of armor, set off to one side.

And survive."

Kenoa was stunned. She'd never worn skates before! She couldn't skate, let alone speed skating! Reluctantly, she slipped on a pair of skates, standing up insteadily. She tried to balance, but she could not move without falling. She flew to the start line, landing clumsily and of course falling flat on her face. Embarrassed, she quickly scrambled up and pretended nothing happened. As she watch the horn about to be sounded, her fave crumpled with dismay. Well, this is just going to be fun, she thought.
