Several of his clan mates buzzed behind him, far more interested in the stalls then he was. He was intent on the event booths. He can feel the amusement radiating off the stupid Pearlcatcher that walked at his heel. Oh, how he hated her right now, she was so sure of herself about which event he was gonna be in just because he was more graceful then her. She would totally enter the Skating or Skiing events, they fit her so well. Well joke's on her! As much as he loved to one up her at her own games he was in the mood for something a little different. That meant doing something unexpected. As he approached the booths he felt her anticipation rise and her attention shift but he refused to waver. She moved ahead of him, her stride shifting to the right towards the Ski booths but he shifted left. She noticed and dashed straight for the Skating booth, immediately striking up a conversation with the dragon in charge. He almost couldn't contain his glee as he reached his destination. "Hello I would like to sign up for the Luge event." This time when he felt the shift of emotion in his rival from triumph to confusion and then swiftly into complete shock he didn't hold back his cackle as he breezed through the form, ignoring the concerned looks from the dragons around him. @JinxMoonstone Please add me to the daily reminder list!

What good would a WIND born Boggle from a Nature Clan, be at /winter/ games? Why would he even want to accompany the group of ice and winter loving dragons of his clan to such cold realms? He was... pardon the pun... boggled. Until they ARRIVED. Oh the Wind... the WIND here! The icy, freezing BREEZES... the blowing squall-like drifts of snow that smattered his hide with damp snowflakes that melted against his warmth... he shed his wintery clothing bit by bit just to FEEL the constant and ever-changing winds... and his Clanmates grinned at one another in smugness. Were they not right? Was this not the PERFECT trip to take Skitterbreeze on? If there was one thing he loved, it was standing where the wind blew, and allowing it to flutter his otherwise flightless wings, and his bogsneak hide... They lined up to sign the forms for various events, after a tour of the site and games, watching a few of the competitors practicing... and were not surprised at all to see Skitterbreeze line up with them. Wordless, he signed the forms for the Luge- his eyes SPARKLED. At the top of the Luge, they twinkled as brightly as phosphorescent cave plants- He had never felt so EXCITED in all his life. The wind blew, the breeze felt fierce and biting, and he advanced to his place at the start of the Luge proper. When he backed up... skittered forward... and LEPT onto the track, there were winces and gasps- he really didn't see the need for a sled. His belly was slick and thick-hided, and he folded his arms and legs backward so the claws would not snag the ice... and he pointed his snout where he wanted to GO. -And GO he did! Shooting down the curvy track, his tail flying like a rudder, his wings for once, folded tight against him to reduce drag- Skitterbreeze was overdosed on adrenaline and pure JOY. He didn't /care/ if he planed or won or would be disqualified for doing this on his bare belly... not a care in the world... nothing for him, save the PLEASURE of shooting down that track. Maybe a little less pleasure as he reached the bottom, and was forced to apply his natural brakes- claws and the pads of his feet. Wings flapping up to catch the breeze again- and even then he tumbled out and over into the embankments of snow and probably straw to catch errant sled that might not brake properly. He lay sprawled there, grinning like a fool, and feeling as happy as he ever had in his entire life. THAT... was well worth the trip here! ...indeed... he might start pressing them for some form of such a thing at home, actually... yes, yes... as he was helped up and dusted off, his mind was already turning to stealing a few more runs during practice time- just for research, of course. yes. of course. In the name of research. ahem.

He was nervous, excited. This was the first time he'd take his skills to the big stage. Many in his clan said he couldn't do well. He was a spiral, and skating benefited Wildclaws, they said, because they were bipedal. Copper didn't care. He was confident in his abilities. A spiral's agility could not be understated, and skates on all four paws meant he could keep very close to the ground, increasing his potential for speed and smooth, seamless turns. It would go well. It had to. They called his name, and he made his way towards the ice, careful to keep the dangerous blades of the skates away from his multitude of sensitive wings.

"Excellent, now what exactly is curling, anyway?" The spiral asked, absently twisting around the others as they stood around. "That's the game where you use sticks to move a rock around the ice," Treehouse supplied helpfully. "We compete against other teams to see who scores more points." "Except you're not allowed to touch the rock," Torith added, then frowned. "Or wait, are you?" He turned to the skydancer questioningly, but Treehouse looked uncertain as well. "I think we can touch it with the sticks, but we can't shove it. Maybe. And there's more than one rock, too." "Can we sabotage the other players to keep them from scoring?" Seaglass asked hopefully. "I could fly around their heads to distract them and Torith could steal the rock." "I don't think that's allowed," the guardian responded doubtfully, "but we should try to find a rule book or something and make sure." "I don't think it would work," Treehouse interjected. "I'm pretty sure each team gets their own lane, so we're not battling over the same rock." "Oh." Seaglass sounded disappointed at the news. "What do I do?" The fae among them finally spoke up from her crouched position on the ground, crests fanning as her voice remained flat. "Don't worry, we'll figure it out," Treehouse replied soothingly, moving his crest feathers to reinforce his words. To the group at large he added, "It'll be fine, we'll get the hang of it in no time."

She had taken a few lessons, but it wasn't like she was preparing for this last year. Hopefully she would have enough skill to take the top of the leaderboards, but it seemed unlikely. Forcing herself not to slouch and to look confident, she stretched her wings. She wasn't wearing a coat, as her fire abilities were enough to keep her warm, and with a coat she was just hot, and she thought that it might slow her down. She heard a dragon announce something about her event, and a crowd of dragons were now heading towards the source of the voice, so she followed, hoping that horrible nervous feeling would soon go away.
