"Are you sure you are going to be okay doing this alone? I know curling is done with a team of two or more but I didn't bring any more drag-" Eiyora was asking when Ivory cut her off.
"Eiyora dear, you need to calm down and just trust me." Ivory said while placing his paws on Eiyora's shoulders to reassure her. Eiyora couldn't help but look on worriedly as Ivory shifted his legguards and walked onto the curling sheet. He eyes the opponent's curling stone, that was in the white circle, with a disdainful look. Not that Ivory was arrogant, it was just 2 years of life experience gave Ivory a very strong confidence in himself. He proceeds to lay down his curling stone after gauging the distance.
Then, he steps on to the curling stone with only one feet and starts pirouetting on it with the momentum pushing both him and the stone forward. Eiyora's jaws drop as Ivory danced on the curling stone, and somehow managed to maneuver it to hit the opponent's curling stone out while he himself stops within the white circle.
"And I thought it was going to be normal, heh, how naive of me." Eiyora thought to herself as she moved to the audience stand, wishing the day would just end already.

Wolf coasted to a halt and leaned over her skis to rest. She was more than halfway done with the skiing course and was starting to get tired along with the rest of her competition. Although her origins in an Ice clan meant that she did not get as sapped by the freezing cold weather as some of her competitors did, the grueling pace still left her winded. Ahead of her, she watched an Imperial slowly make his way up a steep hill. Whomever had picked this trail as the skiing course had been clever - the course was brutal this year. A cold wind blew past and Wolf snapped at it irritably. Right! Enough resting, time to get out there and win this!

Winterfang was lounging at one of the side benches when his name was called. He was assigned to participate in the curling event. He knew nothing about curling but orders were orders, and Winterfang knew what he had to do. He was not going in empty-handed though, he had picked up a few things while observing others compete, and that was sufficient for him to execute his orders. He is going to win this, no matter what it takes.

At last.
Welgaia stretched his wings, embracing the cold wind that was dragging at his body, freezing his scales and making his horns scrunching with ice.
It had been so long since he had seen his homelands that he had almost forgotten how real cold felt like. It wasn't like he didn't feel comfortable where he lived now, it was just... different.
He took a deep breath, feeling his lungs almost hurting from the sharp yet clean air and enjoyed his feet drowning in the snow.
"I haven't thought about you in a long time, Icewarden. But today I am here to honor my old flight and-"
"Aaaaand to talk big!"
A cheeky voice interrupted him and he glanced down at Styx- did that Coatl ever hold his tongue?
"It's nice you're praying a bit before you start, you're gonna need it since you've got no idea about Ski Jumping, but maybe you should have started that a biiiit sooner! I mean, most others are ready already and you didn't even put on your skis!"
The smaller one waved around the skis to underline his words and Welgaia took them from him quickly, knowing too well that Styx was both clumsy and quick to burn stuff when he got excited.
"I appreciate your concern, but there is something you are erring about. I /do/ know how to do Ski Jumping."
"Really?"
The Ridgeback showed one of his rather rare smiles.
"Of course. What do you think I spent my time with while I was still a hatchling?"
And with those words, he put on his equipment and lined up with the others.
Most of the time he felt like he had already tunred into a Lighting Dragon himself- but today, he would show everyone that his inner Ice Flight self was still there!

"This is going to be fun."
The bogsneak, all too familiar with the predatory gleam in the wildclaw's eyes as she surveyed the field of opponents, looked to the rule board.
"You can't maim the competition."
The wildclaw glanced at the tattered paper tacked to one corner noting so and sniffed. "That looks like a suggestion."
The bogsneak eyed the amendment as it flapped in the chilly breeze. It featured a lot of exclamation points. The word "no" was underlined three times.
"Maiming will get you disqualified."
The wildclaw huffed. "Shoving is perfectly acceptable sportsmanship, and teeth just make them go faster. They'll thank me."
The bogsneak sighed, repeated "No maiming," and went to find out if maybe there was a separate race for dragons whose culture confused friendly rivalry with bloody combat.

Sandstorm was busy getting ready for his turn at the top of the luge slope. His clanmate Glisten had called him "crazy" for volunteering for this event, but he thought it sounded like fun.
Two event volunteers helped him roll into position on the relatively tiny sled, then carefully checked him over before pronouncing him okay.
All he had to do now was wait for the starting horn when the two dragons would shove him onto the track, and away he'd go.

When the Plague Coatl from an Arcane Clan had first heard of an Event that involved moving fast over differing snowy terrain, he thought it sounded like a fun adventure. Now, though, he wasn't so sure.... those things were awfully long, weren't they? How was he supposed to put them on without falling over? He didn't want to make a fool of himself....
Fortunately, Abracadabra saw his difficulties. The pretty Skydancer was able to easily help her Clanmate don the skis, having become quite an expert at it the previous year. The adventurous young dragon was very much looking forward to gliding over the packed snow--though he wasn't sure what those odd lines were for. The Horn ended his contemplation, and Citrine pushed off onto the course, wobbling towards the first turn...and then the first hill...and then the next turn... and--hey, where did everybody go?!

Verida looked at the sled with trepidation, she was supposed to lie on this? On her back? AND slide down a twisty turny chute. What the heck? Clearly Tyberius had no idea what this event involved, having signed her up because, "I hear there are quite a lot of fast turns necessary and you are very good a moving quickly." She would have some serious, yet respectful, words with him she got home. That was if she didn't break her neck trying to luge......was that even right? Could you use 'luge' as a verb? Oh my goodness, oh my goodness, oh my goodness........ Verida saw the attendant giving her a questioning look and realized that she had no idea how long she'd be staring at the sled.
Well, no time like the present to risk life and limb for.....well she wasn't even sure what the prizes were, she thought she'd heard somebody mention metals. She did like metal, she'd just found a nice shiny hunk of silver the other day while she was out with a digging crew. But that seemed like a strange thing to give as a prize.....maybe she had misheard.
Somebody cleared their throat, Verida looked up, it was the attendant again. "Perhaps you'd like to get on the sled m'am?" queried the rather beleaguered Tundra manning the top of the chute.
"Oh, yes, yes, of course, I mean of course I'd like to, it's just that I've never done this sort of thing, you know, luge, I've never done it before, and I'm a bit nervous, and I don't really know how to get on, or if I can even straighten myself out enough, and really where does one put one's tail, I mean this is an awfully small sled, oh gee, is there a bigger one for larger dragons, I can't even imagine a Ridgeback trying to fit on this thing, I mean, that's not to say, you know that I don't think it's perfectly ok for them to be the size they are, but well, you know...........wait, what was the question?"
"Um, you need to get on the sled."

Not all of those representing Clan Twinstar in the Sornieth Winter Games were veterans- some were relatively new to the clan. The small but mighty Snapper, Seren, was eager to prove himself to be every bit as athletic as his fellow clanmates. And when he saw the line to join the Luge event, he immediately knew this would be his time to shine.
It took a pair of Tundra dragons some time to strap Seren into the racing sled, and he wiggled about excitedly as he prepared for the signal to push himself off. He could only barely see the track from where he was, but all he knew for sure was that it was a long way down from here. This was so exciting. Today, even if he could barely fly, he knew that he would still be the fastest dragon in the clan. For a little while, at least.
A horn blast sounded to signal Seren to begin, and just like that, he was off!
