It's a competition between clans from every flight to see who can come out on top and bring home the gold! Five events will run during the Gala - enter each one (no more than one per day) to earn tickets to the Ice Flight Gala raffles and special prizes. You spot a couple of baskets full of flowers for event runner-ups. Cats are milling around - sitting on booths, lounging in the walkways, and generally making themselves at home wherever they want. In the distance, you can see the igloos where visitors are staying for the Gala. Finally, in front of you is a small wooden booth - the one you've been trying to find. A banner for the "Sornieth Winter Games" hangs on the stand with a smaller "Sign up here!" paper pinned to the side. There are a number of events listed, but the ones marked "New This Year!" catch your eye: Speed Skating, Luge, Curling, Cross-Country Skiing, and Ski Jumping. Decision time - do you (and potentially your clan mates) participate in all of the events or just a couple that appeal to you most? Looking over the guidelines, you can see all the events are running concurrently, although you are only allowed to enter one a day and can't repeat events. So, out of the seven days for the Gala, you can compete five of the days at most. However, as I need to submit the number of tickets to the raffle coordinators on Sunday morning, all posts and forms must be completed by 23:59 FR time on Saturday, January 28.

He thought he'd have an edge with his agility - plus, his time living in his Ice Clan taught him a lot about ice. Although competition would be fierce, Erebus thought he'd be able to secure a spot near the top. His clan had decided that he would be the one to participate today, and though he had tried to protest against it, he hadn't been able to get them off their idea: Most of them, especially Styx, had insisted that Azalea was the best when it came to 'surviving in the wild, hunting down prey and distinguishing edible stuff from poisonous things'. No one had listened when he had tried to explain that 'Cross Country' didn't really mean the participans were going to wander through the wild for a week or so- this was all about sports and why he was in fact athletic, he wasn't the most competetive dragon in the clan. And yet... now that the dragons around him, males and females of all species and elements, got ready for the start, he couldn't help but feel a pang of excitement on his own as well. Maybe it wasn't a bad idea after all to test his skills, to see how far he could get. By the time the race was starting, Azalea had forgotten everything about his previous concerns and raced over the snow, not even feeling the frosty bites anymore.

The unimpressed employee gives him a form to fill before motioning him in the direction of the skating track. "You're going to fail miserably, you know that?" the Mirror accompanying him sighs. Bud simply grins more. "Naaah. How hard can it be?" When thirty seconds into the race he finds himself spinning without control on the ice, he considers the answer maybe being 'very'.

"I'll sign up for ski jumping, please!" She announced. Once she completed the sign up, the guardian looked for her mentor, a skydancer called Nishant. Nishant turned around to greet her. "Looks like you've got some tough competition. Everyone here looks pretty experienced." He said worriedly. Olympia scoffed. "Don't worry, Nishant, I've got this. I'm experienced too, aren't I?" She questioned, glancing at the other competitors. The skydancer shrugged. "Well... You're right, I guess. Maybe I'm just worried because this is your first competition." He sighed. Olympia shook her head. "Like I said, I've got this!" She exclaimed excitedly. "I'll use everything I've learned to get this, Nishant. Just wait!" She said, smiling. Nishant smiled back, thinking of how skilled and hard working the guardian was. "I know you'll make me proud, Olympia." Olympia nodded back before bounding off to prepare. She stared at the course, and a bit of nervousness started to rise inside of her. She pushed it back down; she had no time for nervousness! Excitement pumped through her veins at the thought of finally competing; this was her dream for a long time. She had always wanted to compete in an official sport rather than her silly challenges with other clan-mates. This time it was serious. This was the moment all of her training and fighting lead up to, and she was ready to give it her all.
