"Still no one." Lethe tossed her head, pawing at the clumps of sickly undergrowth sprouting from the pockmarks in the crater wall. "We've spent too long here. Stick around much longer and it won't be a someone we find; it'll be a something."
"There," Elysium said.
Lethe started and flipped straight into combat stance, hackles springing up, weight loaded low to the ground. She growled, gums bared. "Let's bleed som—"
A ghostly blue-white light flitted teasingly through the gnarled black tendons of the crater's edge.
Lethe stopped in her tracks.
"What the hell is that?" she said, the tension draining from her frame. She took a few wary steps forward. "Hey, kid. What could..."

On the outcrop, a small disturbance in the rocks caught Iblis' eye. Shifting away the pebbles and grime revealed a stone tablet. Intricately carved with patterns, it depicted a serpent chasing its own tail. Little smudges of colour speckled the edge of the carvings, the remnants of a brighter work of art. Iblis looked again at the rocks, more of these little disturbances forming a trail towards the West.
They were more of these tablets, detailed in the same style. A bird of fire being born again. An egg that contained the entire world. A butterfly that was at once immortal and dead. A trail of dreams and fantasies depicted and then abandoned. At the end of the path, something gleamed in the dust. Iblis paced over, and unearthed the shining object. A gleaming gold chest, starkly contrast to the ragged ground, and the bones littered nearby. A victim killed by their greed, or a treasure abandoned for survival? She hefted the chest on her back, careful to obscure its shine with more mud and sludge. It would be heavy, but it could be useful for bartering. She packed away the forgotten works, a treat for the artistically inclined at home.

He wants to know how disease and illness works, he wants to explore the not-so-beautiful sides of nature. He's not only a doctor but also a good fighter - as he has to be to survive in Plague.
