LOG 1 So! As if I don't have enough breeding projects already [s](this will be #14)[/s], I decided to start up another project. And since this one's going to be my biggest project yet (having to breed 2 different lineages to eventually become the final breeding pair), I've decided to keep a log of the whole thing. To start off, these 2 noodles will be the goal pair: [columns] M Spiral Orca Laced/Splash Toxin/Ice Underbelly[nextcol] F Spiral Orca Laced/Soil Toxin/Ice Underbelly [/columns] And from there I can breed the 2 to get any of these secondary colors, which I liked as well as the 2 goal colors, but had the bonus of being inside the goal range so didn't need to be specifically bred. It'll sort of be like a hatchery pair except I'm not actually starting a hatchery. So I ended up having to break it down by color and gene - get a laced dragon of the right colors and a toxin dragon of the right colors and breed them for appropriate colors and genes. And then duplicate that with 2 more unrelated dragons for Lineage B. Unfortunately, a lot of the dragons with orca/x/ice have a white-ranged secondary color, so that means I'll need an extra generation to find a partner that has a far-off secondary color to get me close to the final colors of splash and soil. So! As if I don't have enough breeding projects already (this will be #14), I decided to start up another project. And since this one's going to be my biggest project yet (having to breed 2 different lineages to eventually become the final breeding pair), I've decided to keep a log of the whole thing.

To start off, these 2 noodles will be the goal pair:

Orca Laced/Splash Toxin/Ice Underbelly

And from there I can breed the 2 to get any of these secondary colors, which I liked as well as the 2 goal colors, but had the bonus of being inside the goal range so didn't need to be specifically bred. It'll sort of be like a hatchery pair except I'm not actually starting a hatchery.

I ran a search of the AH and found that while poison/toxin and laced/edged are pretty common, laced/toxin are more rare, and don't exist in the color ranges I need.

So today while I was browsing the AH, I found 2 starters for Lineage A:

a-gpf-1.png?w=125&h=&zoom=2.png
Alexie - 52764240
F Spiral
Orca Poison/Orca Toxin/Orca Underbelly

Here's their breeding card:

agpm-agpf.png?w=1750&h=.png

I've got a super good chance of getting the correct breed, genes, and colors, excepting the secondary color, so it's just a matter of waiting for the skydancer to be RTB and then seeing what the nest gives me. They're due to breed on 7/25 and should hatch on 7/30. In the meantime, got to look for a second pair of grandparents for Lineage B!

note: 53137719 and 53167153 might work as Lineage B's starters if nothing else is available, but the range isn't as good as Lineage A's starters.

Decided against getting 53137719 since he's a bit above what I want to pay for this project, and since he's the only laced gene dragon with the right color range, decided to just go for colors and toxin in Lineage B and focus on laced in Lineage A. Boreas and Luna will be ready to nest 8/15 and should have hatchlings 8/20. Now it's just a waiting game! Next step was to hit up the AH for a mate for Finnye in either splash-chartreuse or soil-spring range to get a splash or soil tox baby respectively. I got pretty lucky and found Robin here at exactly 10kt, with a secondary just a bit past splash at robin, and with the appropriate gene and breed rarities to make it more likely for Finnye's genetics to breed true. Orca
Cherub/Orca Trail/Moon Peacock

Guess it's back to the nesting grounds for Boreas & Luna; they'll be RTB on 9/14 for a 9/20 hatch. In the meantime, Finnye & Robin should be RTB in a few days, and we'll see how their attempt at a splash noodle goes.

LOG 6 Welp another next, another failure... Boreas & Luna nested 9/14, and hatched 3 eggos 9/19. No imperials, and no ice terts, but one baby did get capsule, though not toxin. Not sure how much use that'll be yet, so I'll put her on hold and give the pair another try on 10/14.
