For those of you who have never entered a "Baldwin's Brew" type of Contest, they aren't as easy to explain as they are to teach by example. In most games you are assigned a FR item and then you create the "recipe," "potion," or "concoction" in a FR type of fiction that appeals to the judges' fancy and you win. To aid your endeavors to that end, below is an example of a previous winning potion. Used by permission of user @FelinaeFatale . :)

1/2 pint blue sludge

1 sicklemaw gar (intact)

1 inch cube sulfur (imbued)

Crafting a Maren Warrior is difficult, as they aren't some simple beast or object. You'll require a significant amount of magical energy to animate the maren and bind them to you as a familiar!
Instructions

Wash and clean the sicklemouth gar

Make an incision lengthwise down the gar's stomache to reveal innards

Mix the green algae and blue sludge and pipe mixture into the gar's intestines

Carefully plug the gar's intestines with the bloodstone.

Wrap the gar in the sheet of wavespun cloth and submerge completely in water; keep away from direct sunlight

Meanwhile, prepare a powder of ground magnetite, imbued sulfur, and pulsating green embers

Stir with the sap of murkbottom kelp until smooth

Place the wrapped gar into the prepared mixture and rub thoroughly

Add water to the mix until completely submerged and leave overnight
By morning you should notice that the gar wrapped in cloth has grown skin, a head, and arms! If it looks still underdeveloped, leave for a few more nights. Using a Water Runestone at this time with a Ritual of Binding will bind the maren warrior to you as a familiar so they might be called upon at a later time.
The Ritual of Binding is not covered in this reciepe, see Conjurer Alasster's Witchcraft: Runestone Magic for a basic how-to guide.
