The balloon that housed the [i]Melodies Whirling[/i] clan. Caught off-guard, every one tumbled onto the ground with loud [i]thuds[/i]. Before anyone could take action, the balloon spun round and round the [i]Twisting Crescendo[/i] at insane speed. The dragons were flung forcefully onto one side of the balloon as items fell all around with loud crashes. Shock flashed through the dragons' saucer-wide eyes as they glanced fearfully at one another. [i]What had happened? Where would the clan end up? The spinning did not seem like it would ever stop! [/i] Soon every one was dizzy and seeing stars... [center]***[/center] "Marigold, is it just me or our balloon disappeared?" Rhuned called over. The duo had been gathering some herbs outside the clan. "Hmm?" Marigold looked up. His jaws instantly dropped. "Umm," he stuttered, utterly confused as well. Within moments he heard a flutter of wings beside him. Whipping around he spotted an anxious Rhuned questioning a neighbouring clan. But the questioned dragon simply shrugged her shoulders. Rhuned flew back with a look of despondence. "Seems that our balloon flew off", he muttered sadly. Marigold could only gasp. There was a long silence as they both stared hopelessly at the empty space.

[center][item=hooded hen] [font=bradley hand][size=6]Day 1[/size][/font][/center] The duo took each step carefully, trudging their way through unknown lands. The looks of determination on their faces were strong. They had to, just had to reunite with their clan. Soon they reached the edge of a massive field. They stopped dead in their tracks, both glancing nervously at each other. There were almost no trees in sight, and almost no clouds in the sky. How were they going to hide from any beasts? "There is one option in my mind," Marigold finally spoke, "we cross the entire field in one day. By night we'll be resting on the other side of the field, where it's hopefully safer." Rhuned considered Marigold's words for awhile, then nodded. "Let's rest now, once the sun rises tomorrow we will set off."

[center][item=stardust sap lamp] [font=bradley hand][size=6]Day 2[/size][/font][/center] Marigold and Rhuned stepped into the vast field, brimming with confidence. Soon though, they bumped into their first beasts. Crouching low, Rhuned sprang himself onto the attackers whenever he could, clawing and scratching them till they were defeated. Marigold's magic was barely helpful though, all he could do was weaken the beasts a little. The duo had to flee quite a few battles due to exhaustion, but were surprised at how easily they could outrun the beasts. By noon, they were far into the field, with no possible route of retreat. The landscape changed a little, it was still a field, but slightly more hilly with a few trees dotted around. The duo felt assured and slightly relieved, seeing the large trees that they could easily hide in. [center]***[/center] Rhuned had a beast pinned to the ground. Out of the blue, it sprang back up to its feet. Backing away, he rolled over to dodge his opponent's raining claws. But then, it simply ran off. Shrugging, Rhuned picked himself up to fight someone else. The beast had its eyes locked onto Marigold, who was currently low on health. Marigold heard its pounding and tried to take to his heels. However, his steps soon slowed to a jog. Within moments, he stumbled, and tumbled weakly onto the ground. His dazed eyes searched frantically for Rhuned, alas, he was nowhere to be seen. [i]Help me!! I'm not ready to die yet...[/i] A shadow swooped over Marigold. He braced himself for his doom.

[center][item=blue warrior face mask] [font=bradley hand][size=6]Day 3[/size][/font][/center] Marigold rested deep inside the tree while Rhuned fought off any unwelcome beasts down below. The earlier near-death scene flashed through Marigold's mind repeatedly. He shuddered uncontrollably each time he saw the huge looming shadow. [i]Luckily Rhuned had dragged me away![/i] The moon soon climbed its way onto the twinkling night sky. Rhuned made his way to Marigold's side. "Don't worry" he yawned, "it seems the beasts have gone to sleep too." With that, Rhuned dropped his head onto the branch and fell asleep. So did Marigold. [center]***[/center] The duo continued through the field, this time sticking closer together than before. They began to notice bushes, more trees, and even flowers. [i]Hmm. Seems like the field is turning into a forest? [/i] A bush near them shook rather violently. "Prepare yourself," Rhuned told Marigold, "this looks like a huge one." Before Marigold could respond, a snapper rolled itself out of the bush, smacking a primrose mith that was showering pollen on her. The mith fell onto the ground, then got up and fled. "Heyyo, I'm Selena! Anything I can do for you?" the snapper spoke with such cheer. But the duo had too many questions in mind. "Do you [i]live[/i] here?" Rhuned asked unbelievably. The snapper nodded. "Or you can say I live in that bush. Safest place around here! That's why my mother chose to lay her eggs there. But then one day everyone vanished. I guess I'm alone now," she looked away sadly. Marigold glanced at Rhuned. "I'm Marigold, he's Rhuned. We're on a hunt to find our clan, would you like to join us? We'll help you." Selena's eyes grew huge and watery. "Really? Oh, thank you!" she gasped in exasperation. "I have some plants I can offer, do you eat plants?" "Nope," Rhuned smiled, "keep them for yourself, young one. You're a survivor, you deserve them." Now it was no longer a duo, it was a trio. [center][item=coppercoil spider] [font=bradley hand][size=6]Day 4[/size][/font][/center] Marigold and Rhuned continued on their journey, now with a little one tagging along. They strived to protect her; maybe that was why fighting was becoming easier? Because of their determination to protect? Whatever it was, the adults were surprised that they did not need to flee any battles throughout the entire day. Or maybe the monsters on this side of the field were just weaker?

[center][item=striped biter] [font=bradley hand][size=6]Day 5[/size][/font][/center] Another day crossing the massive fields... Selena was getting bored, but honestly, so were Marigold and Rhuned. Selena was unfortunately not very speedy, to flee the adults would have to take turns carrying her and it was exhausting! Luckily for the Pinkerlocke army, they only had to flee once today, and they [i]did[/i] make it out alive.

[center][item=palefoot slug] [font=bradley hand][size=6]Day 6[/size][/font][/center] Marigold was frustrated. He paced up and down, racking his brains for the answer but to no avail. [i]I don't understand! Why does my magic do so little damage? Why??[/i] He decided to learn a new move: scratch. He tried it out warily on an approaching enemy. Just two scratches and it fled. [i]Neat![/i]
