And gave him Lionfish, because it resembles waves and it's a pattern found on lionfish, so back to the ocean. Saturn looks like waves and Opal represents light reflecting on the sea's surface.

The Savannah/Safari genes were chosen because, even though they have land names, they do create a flowy, water effect, especially with the Caribbean shade of blue I chose, which conveniently does have an ocean themed name! The tertiary is a Gembond to reflect his 'palace, made of gems and coral, located on the ocean floor', with the colour Storm again having a link to Poseidon through the name, and being a good colour to reflect the theme. And finally, I chose Primal Water eyes, cos I couldn't resist throwing an extra splash of water theme in (pun intended). Besides, SD eyes are too small for anything else to have much impact.

The tarnish giraffe primary was chosen because it was the only earth range color with a blue accent color, creating the shape of earth broken apart by blue which is fighting for a god with the title Earthshaker. Cyan was chosen as suitable sea-blue for the secondary and tertiary, where noxtide was chosen both for the name of the gene, and the way it was inspired by the brightly colored and deadly powerful fish. Opal synergised well with the secondary and breed, creating what looked to me like widows to a primordial ocean. And the rare water eyes were chosen to stand out against the bright sea blues of the secondary and tertiary. Also I just hate the appearance of water primal.

I went with a wildclaw for how ornery they’re described as being, as well as how they’re stated to solve even the slightest of offenses with violence. Poseidon was one of the most vengeful of the greek gods and I liked that Wildclaws shared that trait! I also like how tall and proud their sprite stood! Very imposing! Earth Primal was my nod to his earthquake control, as I felt it both fit well with this design and fit with his history in being the Earth Shaker. Abyss ripple was meant to both show the darkness of the ocean depths and be on topic with his water influence given the gene name being “ripple” My choice on Noxtide was similar, but I liked the red highlights especially, as I really felt they emphasized his wrath! Abyss noxtide looks sharp and cruel! Coral filigree was meant to represent his opulence- he drove a chariot through the ocean and lived in a castle made of coral and gemstones, I thought the twisting metals, or coral, it this case, worked well to contrast the ominous, cruel depths with a rather flashy display of gemstones!
