All these recipes look incredible! I'm definitely going to try a bunch of them.

odakotarose I'm so impressed that you made that recipe twice, although I have to admit, they look like the kind of thing I'd make, then eat, then think, "I'd better make more." XD

BrightIce well the good news for me was that I had only fried up a few and saved the rest of the mixture in the fridge so all I had to do was fry a few more haha. But in general? "I think I'd better make more" happens quite a bit at my house lol :D

I finally had a chance to cook so here's my entry! It doesn't have red cabbage like the Stardew Valley recipe but I had two huge green cabbages to use up, so I did what I could!

If you had room for a whole bunch of crops IRL, which ones would you like to grow and why? These can be edible plants, flowers that are good for pollinators like bees and butterflies, or just pretty things!

I'd probably like to grow some fresh plants that are difficult to get but are really important for their roles in specific dishes!
Pandan is an example. It adds such a lovely and unique flavor to both savory and sweet dishes of certain types, and it's irreplaceable.
There's also a flower that I know as bunga kantan, but that's not its english name. I really enjoy it in asam laksa.
There's another flower that's more for coloring than for flavor, but it has a really pretty blue color. It's the blue variety of the butterfly pea flower. It can be used to make some lovely desserts like pulut tai tai.
Hm... Other than that, maybe tomatoes. I use tomatoes frequently, but when they're off-season, they get more expensive at the grocery store and I am stingy. :P

SO. My girlfriend and I are both big on self sufficiency and currently grow several different crops in our respective locations but once we can settle down in our own place we have lots of plans to expand our crops! At the moment I'm growing tomatoes, cucumbers and courgettes outside as well as several different kinds of chillies on my windowsill (it's my first year doing chillies so I'm pretty stoked to see some of them ripening!). We definitely want to grow several different varieties of tomatoes and squashes (I'm especially excited to grow spaghetti squash because I've never seen it for sale in my country), as well as green beans, potatoes, carrots and microgreens both for us and the chickens we hope to own. My big dream is to one day have some fruit and nut trees too, although that will be further down the line. As for flowers, we want to support native pollinators so things like lavender and buddleia are high on the list, as well as marigolds and other flowers which will help reduce pests on our crops.

All these recipes look amazing!
I took a picture of the cake that I made, but I forgot to include my ID. By the time I remembered, I'd given away half of it and it is no longer really fit for pictures. [emoji=tundra sad size=1] Does it count if I edit my username in somehow? I'm sure I can figure something out otherwise, haha.
Just post the pictures you have; if at least one of them has your username in it it's fine by me! If you only have one slice left but I can tell it's the same cake, it's okay.

I would have lots of vegetables(peas, carrots, beets, etc.), fruits (strawberries!! blueberry bushes, fruit trees etc.), and lettuces lots of types of lettuces. I would also have edible flowers like nasturtiums throughout.
Around the edges I would have a ton of flowers for our honey bees to gather lots of pollen/nectar from (we have 2 hives).

Mini Challenge:
I probably wouldn't grow too many, as I'm not great about taking care of plants... but I do grow some herbs now and would like to expand to more. It would be nice to grow strawberries and a couple of tomato plants. I'd probably stick with fruit bushes if I had a lot of space - blackberries and blueberries.

Ummm, you should see my back yard. I literally have over 30 different fruit trees. (Not to mention in-laws have 30 acres of walnuts they sell). I'm blessed that they planted so many here before they moved. We have apple, lemon, peach, pomegranate, persimmon, orange (at least 4 different ones, naval, mandarin, Valencia and others) lemon, grape fruit, pomelo, loquat, kamquat, cherry and a weird star-shaped cherry, asian pear and idk what else. Spring and Fall are the best because that's when the best trees become ripe. The loquats are my fav in the spring. While fall brings pomegranate and persimmons.

Loguat image above since not a lot of people know what they are if they don't have
a tree/know someone who has one. It is a very sweet fruit but has no shelf life which is why it's not something you'd see in stores as they at best last a couple days off the tree and maybe 2 weeks on the tree. It's a lot of fruit all at once if you don't pick them right away they all fall off . Think a sweet white peach mixed with orangey notes and kinda like a grape with a slightly fuzzy peel. You can eat the peel but I peel mine unless I cook them.
Besides that I've put in some raised planter boxes. Only one is "finished" and it has carrots, tomatoes, cantaloupe and a squash growing in it now. Wow, the more I think about it the more I remember, we have blueberries and a few grapes as well. Got some strawberries to plant this weekend in our hanging baskets. xP If it's growing (other than grass and roses) it produces food around our house.
