Hello, This is my personal thread to keep track of all of my breeding projects as I have several of the same type going on. I don't know if anyone will want to be on a pinglist but let me know if you do. Firstly I will have a section for the Rules of Each different Challenge and then post the progress of each of them in different posts. [emoji=ridgeback happy size=2]Anyway, I hope you enjoy and wish me luck! [emoji=ridgeback happy size=2]
This challenge was originally proposed by @CelestialPrime in this thread, and I really like the idea so I asked their permission to jazz it up a little and here we are! The Extreme Patience Breeding Challenge (aka Breed out the Basic) Choose an all basic dragon of a plentiful breed (mirror, fae, tundra, or guardian) Choose a mate for them with a common breed and all common genes (see this thread for a rarity guide) Breed them until you get a hatchling with the common breed and all three common genes. No more basic/plentiful! Keep track of your frustration by earning Patience Points (PPs?) for every failed hatchling. See the next post for the scoring system. Suffer (edit) Ping me @Gender if you win! The probability of succeeding this challenge is 0.81%, which, honestly?, is ridiculous. I have an incredible respect for anyone who attempts this wild goose chase with me. Tips Take time picking your parent dragons. Choose breeds, colours, and genes that you like. You'll be seeing them a lot over the course of this challenge and you don't want to get sick of them. Consider picking a pair with a very wide colour range to make it less boring, or choosing a pair with a colour range that will make a lot of beautiful hatchlings! DON'T TRY TO KEEP ALL THE FAILURES! Your lair will fill up faster than you can keep up with. Don't feel bad about selling or exalting dragons! The Extreme Patience Breeding Challenge

(aka Breed out the Basic)

Choose an all basic dragon of a plentiful breed (mirror, fae, tundra, or guardian)
Choose a mate for them with a common breed and all common genes (see this thread for a rarity guide)
Breed them until you get a hatchling with the common breed and all three common genes. No more basic/plentiful!
Keep track of your frustration by earning Patience Points (PPs?) for every failed hatchling. See the next post for the scoring system.
Suffer
(edit) Ping me @Gender if you win!

The probability of succeeding this challenge is 0.81%, which, honestly?, is ridiculous. I have an incredible respect for anyone who attempts this wild goose chase with me.

Tips

Take time picking your parent dragons.

Alphabet Legacy Challenge
Quote:
I've been toying with the idea of a legacy challenge for a while, but I kept telling myself that it'd have to wait to take up lair spots until I was done with my masterlist challenge which is currently taking up lair spots. And then I got and idea and I impulse-bought my first dragons. This is deeply in debt to the original FR legacy challenge as well as the RNG-based spinoff challenge, the many extra rules and naming schemes people in the legacy boards have done, and, ultimately, the Sims.

So here's the deal: I thought it would be cool to have a dragon whose ancestry goes all the way up through the alphabet. Meaning that the founders of the challenge both have A names and then the heir and its mate have B names and so on until we get to Z. This is more insane than a normal legacy challenge mainly in that normal legacy challenges have 10 generations and this one will end up with 26, if I make it all the way. I think, in the end, it will be worth it.

The particulars:
 • For every generation, I'm going to search for dragons in the AH under 20k of the appropriate gender.
 • I'm then going to go through page by page and buy the first dragon I see whose name starts with the appropriate letter (meaning I'm only buying pre-named dergs!) once I check that they aren't too closely related to whoever I need to mate them to.
 • We wait
 • Once the nest hatches, I'm going to hand-pick the heir, since everything else is pretty random.
 • The heir will be named by clicking the random button until I get a name with the right letter, or if that takes too long, I'll find a random name generator somewhere that will let me input a first letter. I used to use one all the time.
 • I'm also planning on only buying triple-gened dragons so that the legacy at least stays interesting, but I have no restrictions or say in what genes other than that. It's supposed to be random.

Here is the 100 Hatchling Challenge that I'm starting today
1. This challenge begins with the selection of your matriarch. To pick one, she must fulfill two requirements. The first, obviously, is that she has to be biologically female. The second is that she must have never been bred before now. That's it; anything else goes! She can be from your clan already, from the Auction House, have any breed / color / gene combination, be immediately RTB or not -- the sky is the limit. The one thing I recommend without a doubt is that she'd be a dragon you'd permanently keep, because you're going to have her in your hands for quite some time.

If you find that you're tiring of your matriarch's look, feel free to scatterscroll her, breed change her, or alter her genes as much as you'd like. The only thing you cannot do is replace her with any other dragoness after the challenge begins.
2. Select the first mate for your matriarch. You may retrieve him over the Auction House, borrow a stud, or pick a permanent resident of your clan -- literally the only requirement for him is that he's biologically male and thus can produce offspring with her.

Note how this step says "first" mate. This is because your matriarch cannot breed with the same dragon twice across the duration of this challenge.
3. Breed them once they're both RTB and you have sufficient space! Make a note of how many children they've had and keep it. Maintaining count is key. I'd also recommend making a note of who the mate was, so that you never accidentally "double-dip." 4. When the hatchlings are born, you cannot just immediately exalt them or sell them over the Auction House. On the contrary, you must ensure every hatchling gets a long-term home. This could be anything from becoming someone else's permanent dragon to being bred at least once in someone else's lair. Either way, they need to be kept by someone for a while before being exalted or exalt-trained, if ever. If you want, you may keep any hatchlings you get as long-term residents of your own clan.

If you end up selling someone a hatchling and they change their mind and either resell or exalt it, then you are not held accountable for it; after all, the matter at that point would have been out of your hands. However, it might be wise to not sell that person another hatchling for the duration of the challenge.
5. Repeat the process from finding a new mate to sending the hatchlings off to find long-term homes until all 100+ hatchlings have found a place they belong!

For an easier variation, you may sell hatchlings or adults through the Auction House at above-fodder prices. Remember to always check where the adult or hatchling price floor is if you go this route, since it can rise during dom battles! For an easier variation, you may sell adults through the Auction House once they hit breeding age. This can be at the fodder price. For an easier variation, ensure that every mate your founder breeds with does not share your founder's species. This ensures that she can always have a maximum of five eggs per nest. For a neutral variation, you may do this challenge with a patriarch instead of a matriarch. Same general rules apply, only with the biological sexes of the dragons reversed. For a neutral variation, ensure that your matriarch and every mate that you find for her are triple-gened. For a harder variation, ensure that every mate your founder breeds with shares your founder's species. This ensures that she can only have a maximum of four eggs per nest instead of five. For a harder variation, ensure that there's a "family trait" that must be passed on. This can be a certain colored part (ex: a navy primary), a gene (ex: Cherub), or both (ex: navy Cherub). In order to do this variation, every mate you find for your matriarch must also possess this same trait in order to keep it in the family line!
This is my Female.
