Gen 2 Story
Abba knew she was an Unfortunate Fae - she knew this because only misfortune had ever befallen her. Every stone in the road seemed to trip her when walking, every time she flew it began to storm... yes, t'was a pity but she had learned of her misfortune.
Coming to her current clan had been a blessing and a curse, for she had found minute fortune in that they welcomed her, even albeit a little warily. She could not blame them. T'was a curse that they found the truth about her, about how she was cursed and how it would most likely never be broken. For blood curses were tricky ones - they told her, they were seemingly random curses upon those born at inoportune times. For her, it was her misfortune of being born upon the Wolf Blood Moon eclipse.
She had long since accepted her fate, but at least in her new clan she had those who would speak with her, a better fate than she had experienced previously. So maybe, just maybe, the curse couldn't be all that bad?
Of course... once a thought such as that is spoken, even if only in one's mind, nature tends to find a way to make things much, much worse.
---
Abba had been chosen by a somewhat handsome Guardian to lay a nest together - and she agreed, unknowing that her curse would be passed down to any and all of her hatchlings - and how it would grow stronger with each passing generation, rather than weaker.
So they laid their nest, unknowing of the future sorrows they would now have a hand in creating.
Four young hatchlings, the parents were beyond excited at their larger than normal clutch. Four young hatchlings to care for and adore, they thought.
Four eggs with cracks in their shells and paltry coloring were laid by Abba - and the Guardian grew wary of the sight. He began to suspect that his excitement might soon become sorrow.
The four eggs hatched after the same amount of time as all other nests laid by the clan - and the sights were... interesting to say the least.
The first was rather normal in appearance - nothing special or unique about him. His coloring was favored by many eyes - but there were no true definitive markings - he was quite ordinary to say the least.
The second... was one that set off the warning bells in the new parents' eyes. For his eyes speckled like an insects and his markings spread across his skin like ink in water. This was a hatchling to watch and fear - his father thought, while his mother wondered what she had done.
The third was simply unusual - nothing special about her save for her colors, which seemed to glow in the moonlit sky.
Finally, the fourth hatchling was born, and her eyes bore the same insect-nature of her brother. How odd it seemed to the uncursed father, and what a sign it was to the Unfortunate Fae.
Hatchlings 1 & 4 are available for adoption if you'd like. I'm keeping hatchling #2 as my heir for the second generation.
