Quiet, unheard by most. Eerie and chilling to any who could.[/center] A monstrous storm has engulfed Sornieth. Destruction and chaos run rampant. Flight borders have broken down as accusations fly and the threat of war rises. The Sea of a Thousand Currents engulfs the beaches and shorelines around it as the storm dumps never ending torrents of rain. The Wyrmwound has spilled over its confines releasing never before seen contagions into the land around it. Run off from the storm soon carries it straight into the ocean and the turbulent tides spread it far and wide. [center]The storm rages on. [/center] The clans demand answers of their deities. Disease and flooding are rampant near the coast, but for those further inland, safety above ground is as perilous as safety under the ground. The saturated ground makes any disturbance into a destructive avalanche of mud and debris. The banks of streams and rivers alike have swollen to unprecedented levels, cutting through the land around them like jagged knives and threatening to sweep away any clan settled too near. [center]Silence is all the answer given. [/center] The clans are forced to fend for themselves. Structures are strnegthen where possible but for those without the resources, they seek shelter deep under the ground, as far from the reach of the storm as possible. Some clans brave the water, diving deep to escape the angry red tide. Still others perish as conditions grow worse. [center]In the depths, the song continues to play out. I'm tentatively calling this an 'RNGlocke' [*] Dragons start with three lives. When a dragon hits a death number (explained below), that dragon loses a life. When all lives are lost, the dragon is removed/exalted from the challenge. ([b]Hardmode:[/b] 1 life only.) [*] The clan starts with 20kt. [*] The only rules for apparel/genes/battlestones are that they must be bought with clan funds or found through battle. [/LIST] [*] Treasure and gems can be earned through selling coliseum drops, bonding with familiars, and opening chests earned from familiars. (See event rolls below.) If sold on the AH, items may be relisted as many times as it takes to sell them (and this includes changing the price). If a 7 is rolled, one of the team is in danger. Roll to see who it is and then roll to see if they make it out unscathed. If a 1 is rolled, they are fine. If a 2 is rolled, they lose a life. The disease always starts with one dragon. It may be contracted two ways. Rolling a 70 for a story based event, or rolling a 196-200 for an ambush by animals carrying the plague. Once the plague is contracted, a dragon has 5 days to live or die. Each day a roll must be made to see if they live. In the beginning this is an easier roll, but as the days count down and the disease gets worse, the rolls become harder and harder. [LIST] [*] [b]Day One:[/b] Death Roll 1-6. Infection roll: 1-7. The body must be disposed of and one unlucky dragon will be tasked with this burden. Roll to see who that is. Once chosen, another roll must be made to see if they are infected. Roll this chance based on the infection roll on the day the plague victim died. On a roll of 1, this new dragon has contracted the plague. [b]Finding a Cure[/b] There are two ways to find a cure and stop a plague in its tracks. Researching one against the clock from scratch or if a party of dragons is ever ambushed by diseased animals, and they roll a 10, they have the option to bring back one of the beasts. Alternatively, no research may be conducted to see if the infected will live through the disease without aid. Should a beast be brought back when no active plague is present in the clan, the dragon researching the cure for the beast is in danger of contracting the plague themselves. Should they successfully cure the beast, this animal may be taken on as a companion familiar and the cure may be used ONCE to heal a future plague (or to heal the researcher if they got sick). Afterwards, the cure no longer works. One dragon is chosen to research the cure and take care of the infected. It must be the best suited for the job, either a scientist or a doctor, or whoever best qualifies for either role. If no one does, lorewise, roll to see who it is. Every time the storm pinwheeled back, panic rose from all in its path. No one could explain it – not even the scientists in the Shifting Expanse. Not even the wisest among the Starfall Isles. Not even those dwelling nearest the Spiral Keep. A single bubble floated up from beneath him, and on instinct Acan drew it toward him and careful cradled it near. It rose within his claws and then – POP. Nothing. The guardian floated in the dark water, body sagging against the gentle current of the deep. He should not have expected anything differently. The Tidelord had gone silent long before the other dieties had – long before the storm ever stirred up the first gust of wind. Another bubble slid by.
