Pinkerlocke material idea:
- a messenger sent the duo a scroll. the clan was safe but the balloon was broken. the clan would rebuild their balloon and wait for the duo to reach them. then everyone will return to the twisting crescendo together.
- the clan found out why their ropes snapped. insert reason
- the clan sent the duo a map with where they were. it was drawn outside the map? (unknown lands)

Selena shuddered uncontrollably as tears welled up in her eyes. Marigold's brave act touched her deeply, but it paid a huge price. His tired body lay on the ground, a pool of blood flowing around it from his many gaping wounds.

"I should have known better! I should not have struck the beasts! I should have let you two handle it," Selena cried, exasperation written all over her face.

Marigold stirred. "My child, it was not your fault. I have never been a good fighter, my powers lie in magic..." he murmured weakly, his blurred vision cast onto the air in front.

"Rhuned, I can see it! Our clan lies ahead, waiting for us. Trust the map. And don't think about me," Marigold uttered his last words. Then he closed his eyes, never to open them again.

Rhuned patted Selena gently. "I'm sorry, young one. Let's move him to a safer area to be buried. But hurry, I can already hear monsters approaching."

Selena could only nod sadly, her heart shattered to pieces as she grieved for Marigold to return.
