[center][b]Lemons to Lemonade: A Fodder Breeding Challenge[/b][/center] [center]-----[/center] I guess this is a Breed Out the Ugly challenge, but this is something I decided to do before I knew those were a thing. ^^;; Basically, I'm going to try to make a dragon I love out of dragons I absolutely hate. [center]-----[/center] [b]Rules:[/b] - Start with two hatchling dragons bought at fodder floor prices, grow them up and breed them. - Pick the best hatchling of the bunch. [b]All siblings and both parents MUST be exalted.[/b] No keeping extras! - No breed or gene changing dragons, ever. Even after I've settled on a perma - if I am no longer satisfied with the dragon I've chosen to conclude on, the challenge is started again! - All dragons bought from the AH must be dragons I [i]HATE[/i]. They can have no redeeming qualities, no "so ugly they're cute", no "I bet your kids would be ugly so I'll pick you". None of that. I must seethe with hatred when I lay eyes upon them. [i](Taste is subjective, no offense if you like things I hate!)[/i] - No basic genes, all dragons must be able to pass on a pattern! - After I've bred a pair and exalted them and all but their prettiest progeny, the mate to my new dragon must be another fodder dragon that I [i]HATE[/i] that I snag off the AH. - No cheating with "sneak peeks" by scrying babies or checking breeding ranges with the stat card calculator! I'm trying not to even think about how the genes and colors match up - every nest should be a surprise! [b][i](So please don't spoil it for me by posting about possible outcomes in the thread!)[/i][/b] My goal is to get a perma out of this, and along the way produce lots of fodder to send to Shadowmom. Any of his genes can be done right, but he does them all wrong and turns it into a muddled mess of dull colors. Piebald is a gene I want to love but never seem to be happy with on a dragon. Butterfly I also want to love, but it seems like every dragon I see it one would usually look better with something else. (Case in point) Thylacine can look excellent in the right color on the right dragon, but Initiate here is all the wrong colors and definitely the wrong dragon. Commence is a breed I hate. Sorry mirror fans, they just aren't at all my thing. Her colors could be nice (though I can't stand brown), they give her a neat jungley vibe, but in these genes they are Bad. I hate jaguar, its one of my least favorite genes. I know its generally popular and I can see how it would be appealing, but I can't stand it. I'm always disappointed to check out a dragon on the AH whose little preview icon looks nice, but they turn out to have jaguar. I like greens, but not in jaguar. Current I used to hate and have started to like more, but it adds to the bad here. We've got all different patterns going mostly different directions. I like yellow, but this shade on this gene? Please no. Thylacine is on both Commence and Initiate so I guess its here to stay, for now. Like I said, not a bad gene when done right, but pairing it with jaguar? Awful. And add the color to that - not a fan of brown dragons.

If the thylacine color clashed less, he's not a bad looking dragon. There are two nice greens hiding under it. I like spirals, I like green, and I don't hate these genes. I love that wing color (hello radioactive) but hate everything else, so the spiral will be the one to continue the line to the next round. Initiate and Commence are off to serve the Shadowbinder, Mud will join them when she grows up and gets leveled. I'll update again when I find a mate for Carrots!

[url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=45762090] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/457621/45762090_350.png[/img] [/url] Rose Tiger /Berry Seraph /Tarnish Okapi I chose Cake because the two colors I hate most on creative bright colored things like this are pink and brown. I hate pink so, so much. This lady combines the two colors I like the least, and not even in a terribly attractive way - the colors are just slapped on there, together, looking terrible. She's also a skydancer, which I've been really souring on lately, and a female to boot which I recently find myself liking less (funny, I used to prefer female SDs to males. -------- Their breeding cooldowns have ended so I just dropped them on a nest and got wegged. @Narelle Ooooh, I'd love to see where this goes and would love to be added to your pinglist! Hopefully whatever comes from this lonely egg won't be too bad, but..... eheheh.

Fingers crossed its a moderately pretty kid that can pass down some decent colors/genes to the next generation, but with the colors on Cake I doubt it. ^^;;
