The FSC caught my eye and when I saw the Marbled Jester scry I realized more of these little cuties needed to exist. So I bought a pair of dragons. [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=4065422] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/40655/4065422_350.png[/img] [/url] WindSwept, a beautiful four-year-old (!!!) dragon who will make an excellent mother for my first generation of hatchlings. I intend to keep her afterwards, because she's an older dragon who deserves a comfy home <3 She was originally a Skydancer, and will be breedchanged back once she's done with this quest. [b]The plan:[/b] -I'll need two parallel bloodlines in order to have a final breeding pair -My initial plan is to breed a pair of dragons, select the closest offspring to the desired result, and find a mate that can bring their hatchlings even closer -If I manage to get enough lair space I'll collect potential dragons to add into the bloodlines as and when necessary, and ideally start my second bloodline so the two final dragons are born at similar times [b]So far:[/b] 27th June: Bought WindSwept and Mikhail; gave WindSwept Thylacine gene; first nest begins incubating! 28th June: Bought Eve and Azhar! Today, I found a second pair of dragons with the right color range, so the second bloodline can start as well! The bad news: one of the dragons is a first generation, so she'll need to be gened up. The good news: since I have to gene her anyway, might as well give her the right genes! [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=28726358] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/287264/28726358_350.png[/img] [/url] Azhar's an old hand at raising hatchlings, he has a short list of kids already. He's really quite ideal because he already has Thylacine, and his other genes are gem genes so they'll be less likely to pass down. The cooldown that comes with being an Imp is not ideal, but at least it'll give me a better chance of eventual Coatls! Spent today: 90g on Eve 20kT on Azhar

am following, but I'm curious, if you have no issues buying genes, why not wait and just gene up your final pair? that's what i did, otherwise, it's gonna end up costing you more than it needs to

@Emmie Good question! I wasn't really thinking straight tbh, you're right that I should just wait to the last ones and gene those...but I do like the thrill of hatchling roulette. Maybe I'll get really sick of it after a few nests of course...

@Emmie In my defence I'm on ridiculously strong painkillers so my ability to plan ahead is...somewhat reduced XD I already put Toxin on my Noc girl but I've decided just to gene the last hatchlings once the colours are right, so thank you for pointing out I was being dumb!

Today's news! Having realized geneing these guys was probably a bit silly (thanks again Emmie XD) I popped Eve and Azhar on a nest and they have two eggs! Mikhail and WindSwept have three eggs, which will hatch in two days.

I'm thinking I might keep Eve after this is over as well, she's a first-gen and I think she could look really nice with the right genes.

Since I have basically no lair space to add more pairs, the next update will probably be when the first nest hatches and we get to see how close the hatchlings are...

Fingers crossed you get something good from both pairs :)

Also, I see what you mean about a lack of space....lol
