You stumble through the Shrieking Wilds, hunting for cryptids in the thick green underbrush. The wind seems to whisper to you where the creatures lie, but the trees rustle their own message. However, your instincts shine through, guiding your way to where you believe the secret cryptid hides. After seemingly hours of search, you decide to turn back as your interests are lost for today, but you are hopelessly lost yourself. Did you pass that tree before? Did that bush just move? Regardless, you need help. The canopy above is too thick, and the vines seem to have already trapped themselves in your wings. After pushing through the greenery, careful not to harm too much as the denizens of nature may pursue you for it, you come across someplace you haven't seen before. A cabin in the middle of the forest, covered in ivy and surrounded by flowers. A tree has grown in one of the walls. The wood of the cabin seems to be rotting away. You push open the door, hinges creaking with the sound of no care. However, the inside is very lively compared to the exterior. Candles light up an organization of cabinets and furniture. In the center of the room, a pearlcatcher sits at a desk, looking at his notebook. 
As he mumbles something, you open your maw to ask how to leave, but he then looks up and seems to take notice of your presence for the first time. "Oh! Hello there! I'm Professor Sphinx, retired member of the Cryptzoology Society. Well, I have my associations that I still keep up even though I have sworn mostly to disappear, but I like to be called retired." "Anyway, since you're here, I'd love to ask you a question, just minute ones. You see, I've been an explorer for quite some time. Then, I became a Professor. But I've been an explorer most my life, so I consider myself as such over my Professor title. Along my travels, I've seen a lot of stuff, and written notes on them. However, being me, I never wrote what the items were, only the notes, which are puzzling in themselves. I need someone to help me figure them out! This noggin isn't as it used to be."
