They awoke.
Darkness.
Heads were pounding, skin tight around flesh. Bellies were empty and tongues were dry. How long they had been there, none of them knew. As eyes adjusted the darkness gave way to gloom. A hallway devoid of features. Plain stone covered the walls, floor and roof. A box. A prison.
They had begun to wander. The hall twisted and turned. Other passages broke off into nothingness, every one silent and cold. They had walked for so long until exhaustion took them. They fell to the floor, lost and confused, too tired to continue. How long they had been going was a mystery. How far this twisting labyrinth went, they didn’t dare think about.
And then the sounds began...
