This is my lore girl Roselyn who will be doing the 100 hatchling challenge: She has some lore in her bio that starts before the challenge if you wish to read it but below is the lore for during the challenge: Roselyn had proved her usefulness to the clan once through her survival skills and found her place in the clan through caring for the hatchlings that came into her clan. Her parents were proud their first born was allowed the rare permission to stay in the clan and the family shared a close bond. However, the clan leader Cerberus was growing tired of Roselyn's presence. It was against the laws of the clan for a family to stay together without a special reason and Roselyn had done nothing special to prove her worth. No mate, no battle experience, just the easy task of caring to hatchlings. Something several other dragons in the clan were tasked with before she had even been born. Roselyn was trained and left to say her final farewells to her parents before she was sent off to survive on her own or die. However, despite her fate, Roselyn decided that if her fate was to die without her parents doing anything about it- not that they could- then she would at least leave her mark on the world by seeing off as many of her own hatchlings as she could. Though, all were from different males, they were still her children and she hoped they would do well in their lives... be more important than she had been. Roselyn's first mate was with a Skydancer called Deimos. He has already nested once with a bogsneak that had since left the clan, which meant he was now open for taking in another mate. Of course, this wasn't going to be a permanent pairing between the two. The clan's hunter wasn't hard to convince either. Not many dragons would approach him considering how new he was in the clan- and he himself wasn't much of a conversationalist. Together they had three eggs. Deimos didn't stick around to take care of the hatchlings when they hatched out of their eggs. It was something Roselyn was both bothered by and unconcerned about, which didn't quite make sense but at least his neglect meant he didn't expect this to happen again. As for Roselyn herself, she couldn't watch her hatchlings most of the time either. She almost seemed to regret her claim to have so many hatchlings before being cast out by Cerberus. But they seemed to be doing fine on their own, they certainly learned how to be independent quickly compared to other hatchlings. Perhaps that would make up for their bright scales that would make it impossible to do anything concerning stalking or hunting like their father- whom had since left the clan finally- had done. Aether had been Roselyn's second pick for mate. The pale bogsneak had also already had a nest with Priestess upon the other female getting a sign from the deity- or something like that Roselyn didn't care for that detail- where she would give a sacrifice of half her children to the deity. Aether had agreed to that strange request so hers was almost normal sounding. In either case, after the nest hatched Aether acted like a fatherly figure to his hatchlings. He especially enjoyed spoiling the first born of the nest and eventually Roselyn became aware that the other two were being forgotten about just as those of her first nest had been. She never stepped in to fix that however, she was determined to make her hatchlings figure their lives out without her help. She hadn't done much with her own after all. Eventually however, other nest care takers and even Roselyn's father would aid her hatchlings, after their father died of a sudden illness, while Roselyn herself watched from across camp. It burned her to finally begin admitting to herself that acting this way was only hurting her cause as to why she would be forced out of the clan but it was too late now. Her hatchlings probably barely even knew she was their mother... and soon they had left the clan to find new homes. Her third mate was an older wildclaw named Ramil. He had many nests prior to coming to the clan and while he hadn't in a while Roselyn had thought he'd make an experienced father to their nest to come. His job to other dragons might counter act that logic but it was too late to decide against it and Roselyn soon had another nest. Ramil wasn't necessarily a bad father to the hatchlings. He was just normally doing his job as the clan's beast tamer. He did however take their son under his win once he was old enough to teach him about the tasks involved in beast taming. This left Roselyn to watch over the females in their nest- from a distance naturally. It was almost like the time waiting to have another nest had caused her to forget what she'd realized the last time. Ramil left Roselyn around the same time the hatchlings left. His job wasn't as important at the moment and at his age it wasn't practical for him to continue the dangerous line of work. Roselyn wasn't confident in the females in this bunch. While they acted independent it was clear they lacked ambition or the ability to try living on their own. Perhaps she wasn't sending out children who would leave a better legacy than her. But Roselyn wasn't about to quit on the one thing no one else in the clan had done yet. Gohrvrytin was her next mate. He was a new addition to the clan and an odd dragon. His savage nature secretly scared Roselyn but she thought that he'd perhaps be gentler with hatchlings, as she had heard him mention he used to have some long ago. She had been unsure of his strange smile as he stared down at the single egg in the nest but at the time had cast it aside. He was worse than she'd thought. Gohrvrytin had been a cannibal prior to joining the clan and had killed dragons for sport. It made sense the more her clanmates discovered about his background but Roselyn was honestly worried how it would affect their new hatchling. Due to this, she watched it with care in an effort to prevent her from disappearing due to her one-time mate's hunger or for any signs she was going to be like her father. Worse ended up coming to worse as well. Gohrvrytin's influence and genes had ruined their child. Roselyn's suspicions were proven true of her sadistic nature when their daughter ran off. The next day Gohrvrytin left as well; chased out by the clan and leaving Roselyn to wonder what she'd unleashed in the world. Still, next time she'd be more careful in choosing her mate. Roselyn's fifth mate was a bogsneak named Orion. He was a lonely dragon who had only mated once before with a skydancer. According to him finding a mate wasn't important; reading the moon and stars was. Only by learning what was to come and following their guidance would ensure a good future. Orion had come to Roselyn with a message that the stars had seen something powerful could come from a nest between the two of them and while Roselyn was reluctant at first- he was an odd dragon after all- she agreed. The pair was soon on a nest of three hatchlings. Roselyn was pleased to see Orion doing what he could to take care of the eggs and hoped he would do the same once they had hatched. There was only one problem Orion had with the nest once he'd heard her story; the last egg was Roselyn's thirteenth hatchling. His alarm was evident and Roselyn grew increasingly worried when he began to go off more often at night to consult the stars. It hadn't been unusual during their nesting to see him do that a few times but now all of his attention was focused on learning what could come of the unlucky numbered hatchling inside the egg. Roselyn of course didn't believe in any of that kind of superstition at first... not until the day came for the nest to hatch at least. The first two hatchlings, the daughters, had beautiful black and purple shades on their scales but the last hatchling, the thirteenth, had sickly green tinted scales and paled purple wings. Even his belly was a dulled color. Still, she felt the need to give him a chance to grow up and left them to Orion to see what he'd think. It was predictable however, that Orion disliked their son and cast him aside in obvious favor of their daughters. Roselyn began to keep her distance as well due to Orion's influence and while she paid more attention to her other hatchlings this time around it was mainly to keep them from coming to harm by being around their brother. But it wouldn't last long. Orion waited until they were old enough before leaving the clan and soon after their hatchlings went their separate ways as well. Roselyn's hope in the future of her legacy and possible mates was rekindled from the caring- yet distant- bogsneak and in some ways she would miss him, but he had said the stars had called him elsewhere and so elsewhere he had gone. ~So I will be updating this thread with each nest she has. ~While each hatchling may not have lore written in their bios there will be at least a little blurb written here. ~I will be selling her hatchlings to hopefully forever/ long term homes. ~Some of her mates I find will either be sold or exalted so feel free to let me know if you want to purchase one! ~Let me know if you'd like a ping for this thread in general as well! This is my lore girl Roselyn who will be doing the 100 hatchling challenge:

She has some lore in her bio that starts before the challenge if you wish to read it but below is the lore for during the challenge:

Roselyn had proved her usefulness to the clan once through her survival skills and found her place in the clan through caring for the hatchlings that came into her clan.

It hadn't been unusual during their nesting to see him do that a few times but now all of his attention was focused on learning what could come of the unlucky numbered hatchling inside the egg.

Hatchlings:

Nest 5:

~Zenthra
Zenthra was the first born of her nest and had an interest in divination from the start thanks to her father, Orion's, constant divination of the stars. However, as she grew older and her sister Hela began having visions and learned how to translate signs in the stars and moon; she didn't. Zenthra practiced for hours upon hours every night in search of something to prove she was just as good as her sister... For nothing. She might've had an interest in reading the future but that didn't seem to be her future. Eventually she began to turn her sights to studying the stars scientifically instead. It wasn't what she wanted to do with her life but her mother had commented once after Zenthra had shown her how she'd been able to predict a meteor shower based on past happenings in the area. Perhaps once she learned more on the subject it would become fascinating for her.

Science didn't mean anything when she was found by a Nature clan. Being from Plague, Zenthra wasn't sure what to expect. What did they want with her? What were they training her for? She had been too young and inexperienced to understand. Then she found herself being thrown out of the clan and back to Plague. She was weak and injured from her training and incapable of fending off the beast clans or dragons that attacked her as she tried to find her way back to her birth clan. Like her brother Ender- though she didn't know it- Zenthra had died so far yet so close to home at the fringes of Plaguebringer's territory.

~Hela
Hela's specialty was obvious from the very beginning of her life. Her skills at finding and reading signs in the moon and stars were almost on par with her father's despite her young age. Of course, being a prodigy in his eyes wasn't easy. Orion was constantly working with her to hone her skills each night until she could use her divination without his assistance nor second guessing her own interpretations. Hela's dreams even began showing her the future as she aged. Some where almost nightmarish and despite her growing arrogance at her abilities the darkening signs tormented her waking thoughts until her mind began to warp. Her father of course blamed her brother for his cursed birth being the cause and Hela watched mutely each time her father bared his teeth at the smaller male. She couldn't stop what his brother might do. Her young mind could barely keep a handle of the future he could bring... but if she left... or if another dragon could stop him. Perhaps the visions would get better.

~Ender
His life was left to isolation the moment his head poked out of the green egg. Ender had been the thirteenth hatchling and with his father being a dragon who based life around divination and signs; he was seen as something to be kept far away from other living beings. He didn't know the love of another dragon other than the faint warmth of his mother's body around him and his sisters' eggs before they hatched. The bitterness that sprung up every time he saw his siblings was nearly enough to choke him... not that he ever acted on it. Orion had already proven he wasn't welcome near them and Ender could only imagine he'd be injured if not killed if he ever harmed another dragon. Upon growing up he was still an outcast but no longer cared about fending for himself. He had proven he could survive what other dragons did to him and now it was time to see if they could survive the monster they had created.

His wrath was short lived. Despite his father leaving the clan to his new home Ender still had to deal with his mother. She wouldn't stop him, or wouldn't be able to, if he tried to dispose of his siblings but they had grown much larger than him. Ender's rage had only been fueled by that fact and so he left the clan to train to fight. A Light clan brought him in and trained him before sending him back off to Plague. At this point many things could've happened; he could've gotten revenge, his path of destruction and death could've continued, he could've left his grudges and hatred behind for a new life, or he could've continued to get stronger. None of these happened. He didn't even make it to his birth clan before being taken down by another Plague clan. Ender fought with all the strength he had but in the end his bitterness and his lack of any form of luck was the death of him. His furious red eyes closed and his body left on the outskirts. Perhaps, for some, it was for the best Ender met his fate before any damage could ever be done.

Nest 4:

~Destria
Destria was the single hatchling of her nest though, she was quite a clawful on her own. Her father's warped mind had made her unpredictable and many times she would attack small animals or other hatchlings to kill them for sport. Of course, her mother always stopped her with a swat from her tail before too much damage could be made. It never stopped her from going out in secret in the dead of night to do it. Her father caught her but rather than scold her for killing without reason he taught her to kill more effectively and how to hide any bodies other dragons might go searching for. Destria became an effective killer but knew she couldn't stay in her birth clan; her father would kill- and possibly eat- her if she stayed. In fact, two dragons like that were causing too much attention to dragons outside the clan in the area going missing. The dragons in the clan would suspect them soon enough so Destria flew off one night as soon as she was confident her wings were large enough and strong enough to get her away. She never looked back.

Her journey took her far off to the freezing land of the Icewarden. Destria joined a clan and convinced them she was a helplessly lost Plague dragon who had merely been searching for a home. She never let them know who she was. They even gave her a new name: Virtue. It was ironic really. Her new clan was peaceful and well prepared for the cold climate... they weren't prepared for Virtue's taste for blood however. At first she tried to ignore the urges until her talons were deeply embedded into the clan's structure and trust. It didn't work. The urge increased so much she started feeling crazy until she began flying off on her daily scouting to slaughter dragons too far from their homes. Still... it was a lot of work and never satisfying by the time she cleaned up and returned home. Then she made the fatal mistake of trying to attack her own clanmate in a brief loss of control. They ganged up on her, dragging her down, tearing into her leather wings and scaly hide until the snow turned a crimson tint with her own blood. Virtue felt icy fear trickle through her veins at the knowledge she was dying before finally giving into the cold darkness descending over her.

Nest 3:

~Leviathan
Leviathan was the first born of his nest of three and was the only male. It became apparent soon after birth that he took more after his father in personality and Ramil was quick to start teaching his son the ways of taming beasts. It was dangerous work and Leviathan bears many scars from accidents but he never let any creature best him in a fight. His life was set on a path to power and he wasn't going to let any one dragon or otherwise stand in his way. For he was the seventh son. It was his duty to uphold the old legend of the power of the seventh. Perhaps someday he'd even get around to finding a mate for himself and he'd show his seventh son how to become the strongest dragon around. To fight, tame, and control the weak... like his father did with the beast... like his mother was far to weak and dismissive to even think about doing. Every living creature would learn to fear and respect the dragon known as Leviathan.

That didn't exactly happen... Leviathan went off to another Plague clan away from his family to break any ties that could be a weakness to him in the future. Unfortunately that might've been the one thing that destroyed him in the end. Sure, the killing blow hadn't been from a family member but it could've been prevented had he had someone to rely on for help. It was his arrogance that allowed the beast to out do him. In his attempt to win the fight against the larger creature to show off for his new clan he'd gotten too cocky... and in the end that had allowed the fatal attack to slip through. But it had been quick. Leviathan never had the chance to cry out let alone see the faces on his clanmates before death overtook him.

~Susie
Susie was the hatchling that the other dragons picked on. She wasn't the best at taking charge of situations and she certainly wasn't the adorable baby of her nest like her younger sister. Being the middle child was tough. However, she found peace in being left alone. Susie learned to be independent from other dragons and found friends in the creatures that lived around the lair. She was good at befriending them, unlike her brother who used aggression to make them submit to taming. Susie wasn't sure where this skill would get her in life but at least the creatures couldn't vocally make fun of or ignore her.

~Rhune
Rhune. She was the adorable baby of the group. While her parents were too busy off doing their own things she managed to worm her way into the nest taker's heart. She could almost get away with anything with her beauty and innocent looks. Even her blood red eyes didn't deter many from trusting her immediately. Rhune wasn't the brightest of the bunch thanks to how spoiled she became and was almost completely dependent on other dragons to help her survive. However, she was intelligent enough to know how to get other dragons wrapped around her claws even as she grew out of her hatchling size. What to do with them afterwards... well, more ambitious dragons would've known what to do to achieve their goals. Rhune just seemed to enjoy seeing how many dragons she could get to care about her.

Nest 2:

~ Artemis
Artemis was the fourth hatchling of Roselyn and the first of her nest. Her father, Aether, was a dotting parent and skilled at his job after having one nest prior to this one. She enjoyed his company much more than her mother's- though Roselyn was usually on the other side of camp if she was there at all. However, her favorite thing to do was to look at the stars overhead and wonder what it was like in other clans. Surely there were others out there that were different. The dragons in the clan always talked about them; her father seemed to enjoy talking about his old clan at least so perhaps she would go explore to find her own clan she loved.
~Colada
He was the only male of the bunch and seemed to be forgotten quite often. His father was always busy caring for them and his mother was almost never in sight. Colada didn't even know which dragon was his mother. None of them really looked like him let alone treated him like their own other than the care takers in the clan- and he knew they weren't family! His grandfather, Soren, looked after him though, well as much as the imperial could with his duties. Colada was content to know at least one dragon tried to care for him. When he had his own children he vowed to spoil them and spend as much time as he could with them and his mate.
Colada would never live to have his own family however. While he lived a nice life- he even got a job in his new clan in Lightning- it was also a short life. Many accidents can happen when working around powerful electricity and that was the way he went. A freak accident when a reactor exploded. The electricity from the sparks had paralyzed him while the blast had utterly destroyed his body. Colada barely felt it and in the suddenness was barely able to comprehend what had happened. His last moments were full of chaos but... at least the way he went had prevented his death from being dragged out slowly. Naturally, his only regret was being unable to find another dragon he loved enough to share the love of raising his own hatchlings with.

~Ballora
The last born but also the most graceful of the nest. Ballora loved how she could explore and move silently through the lair and often got into trouble. She was never scolded though. Her parents didn't bother her and she soon became a smooth liar. If she was found outside the clan she would say her mother or father asked her to go with them and she'd gotten lost- after all, they never heard of it so couldn't defend themselves against the hatchling's words. If she was playing with the alchemy then she'd blow it off and say that she had been getting the wildlife or familiars away from it. Her lies didn't always work of course and thus, she started to get crafty at being unseen and with her words. One day she would be able to use them on many dragons and they would never be any wiser...

Ballora, for all her cunning and skills, was not immortal. She managed to swindle many dragons of crucial information and items for her new clan in her life but other dragons were even more experienced than the younger dragon and thus held more skill at deceiving than her. It was upon meeting a dragon like this while in Wind that she met her fate. The dragon had tricked her into trying to find a rare artifact but upon going to the location she found the path was narrow while the wind was enough to knock almost any dragon off the edge. But... she was built low to the ground and heavier. Even with the small edge Ballora was sure she could make it. Then she'd have the rare artifact and the dragon's information to take back home. When reaching the final location however, Ballora found herself snout to snout with the other dragon. A sly grin was on their face and with a swift strike with their tail she found herself scrambling for a grip on the edge. The ground crumbled beneath her her desperate claws before she was sent plummeting to her demise; the wind ripping into her wings and twisting them until they were broken and useless while her body crashed against the sides of the cliff. She was dead before she landed.

Nest 1:

~Hawk
Hawk was the first born of his mother and the coldest in coloring. His bright red eyes were also much more noticeable on him than his siblings, something that made other dragons wary of his presence. Often left to himself, he became independent from a young age and left to join another ally clan as soon as he possibly could to stay with his aunt, Skyvision, in hopes of making his mother proud.

~tequila
While being the middle hatchling wasn't always bad... it was in this case. He was the brightest colored out of his nest, though it didn't get him anymore attention than the rest of his siblings. In fact, his eyeburning look almost seemed to make him more neglected on top of the fact he was the middle child. His father certainly didn't seem to care considering he was never around.

~Elizabeth
She was the youngest and only female of her nest but that didn't mean anything. Elizabeth was special to her mother from the start and named after a deceased friend, who wasn't the best around but had still been close to Roselyn. She had heard stories of the two since her birth and hoped to live up to the name given to her, perhaps without as much bloodshed of course. Elizabeth wanted to survive and show her family that despite the situation in her birth clan and family she could be strong. No one could hold that dream against her, right?

No one could blame Elizabeth for not trying. In fact, she was a pretty good dragon in her life and had even managed to find a mate and hatch a nest. But it was that choice that destroyed her. She hadn't realized just who her mate had descended from or what type of hatchlings she was raising. Not until it was too late. The curse of the Glitch Queen had befallen her and while her family had strange magic that showed their heritage the curse hit her in a more... deadly manner. She felt sick for days before it happened and the shadows under her eyes matched those of her Shadow flight home. Her scales and wing feathers lost their sheen and it was almost like she was just... fading. Elizabeth wasn't sure what was happening and the healers couldn't explain why; they were helpless against the curse and the clan watched as she lost her strength. In the end she simply faded into the shadows as if she had been one all along. Her death was strange and slow but she had done the most she could with her life while she'd lived and while her body disappeared her spirit would stay alive with her children.
Hatchlings:

Nest 5:
