Ugh, bosses are the worst for trainers. Especially if they're strong against their elements.
Don't feel bad - they ARE bosses. You can come back and stomp 'em when your dragons are a higher level ;;) In the meantime, there's no shame in using that flee button as soon as they appear. It only costs 2 hunger points per dragon, you can get enough food to cover that in, well, any battle that drops food of the right type.
Sigh, I still have to flee the Mire bosses sometimes with my level-25s. Sure, I can take them on if my health is full and I have plenty of breath, but that just isn't always going to be the case. Also, when I was training teams up to 15, I fled Pohips SO MANY TIMES. Come to think of it, you probably CAN go back and stomp those now - have your dragons eat a few hippos for me! ;;)
