Welcome to the CODACOT challenge hub! Looking for something to spice up your Coli experience? Collecting badges? Want to further the entire community's understanding of the coliseum? I've got just the thing!

CODACOT is a tool that makes tracking Coli data easy--it includes achievements, submissions, custom trackers, and more! We have several challenges that make use of its features, as well as other challenges the tool supports.

Please feel free to keep track of these challenges in the thread, especially if you use the template!

The Hunt

Arguably the most straightforward of the challenges. There are achievements, you need to go find them. As of posting, there are 56 achievements, including the Mastery achievements (note: there are currency/chest achievements only available when collecting fest data). This number will continue to increase, and as it does, we'll keep adding ranks. The current ranks, followed by the number of achievements needed, are as follows:

Mastery Gauntlet

This challenge involves collecting the "Mastery" achievement (MIRE MASTER, etc) that's available in each venue. Killing monsters, collecting drops, etc. all contribute to your hidden MASTERY counter, and you'll get the achievement when it climbs high enough! To complete the Mastery Gauntlet, you'll have to get the mastery achievement for every venue. Your current rank is decided by the number of venues you've MASTERed.

If you want to go Hardmode, you'll need to both complete the venues in order AND restrict yourself to grinding venues you've mastered/are mastering (ex: while getting mastery of the Sandswept Delta, you're allowed to visit the Training Fields, but not the Mire, except for fodder-training or festivals).

There's also an achievement called "ASCENDANT MASTERY," which is a significantly harder version of mastery. It's not tied to a venue, get it in whichever one sounds most fun!

Ranks marked "+" need you to have done Hardmode or ASCENDANT MASTERY at some point (not necessarily in the same run). Ranks marked "++" need both! The ranks are:

Badges are available in the Badges & Etc post. If you're a particularly tough cookie, get ASCENDANT MASTERY in every venue and I'll make you a custom-color Conqueror. If you're crazy enough to do that in hardmode, I'll animate it with colors of your choice (custom-color Generatrix)!



Collaboration Challenge

Since CODACOT is a data collection tool, it only makes sense to have a challenge that stresses collecting quality data! The Collaboration Challenge is the most easy-going challenge on here, and for good reason--I'd hate to incentivize bad data! Remember, these challenges are between you and yourself, and I'd infinitely prefer someone display an unearned badge over fudging data even a little. That being said, for every data set donated, give yourself a point! If it's rare fest data (an achievement will show up to indicate), give yourself two points! Data collected while doing another challenge (one of the two above, or something listed here) is worth double points. Data set size doesn't matter, but again, I'd rather you just take the badge rather than submit a bunch of size zero sets. Please feel free to keep track on the thread! The ranks are:

  • Please post your progress here (template available). I'm subbed!
  • Please don't post what you did to trigger achievements.
  • You can give hints, though!
  • While you're welcome to play with the tool to discover achievements, DO NOT donate false data!
  • Seriously, I'd much rather you just cheat and grab all the badges. Don't submit false data!
  • But please do consider donating legit data. It helps projects all around FR!
  • Only earned achievements count (getting the name to show by playing with numbers doesn't).

CODACOT supports a number of existing coli challenges; if you host/participate in one that's not listed here and think the tool could support it, let me know! Otherwise, use this post to discover new challenges and configure the tool to fit them.

Bad Luck Blitz (Author: Oranitha)

CODACOT should cover all your bases. You quit a venue as soon as you get a battle without loot, but you can also configure one of the custom counters to count lootless battles if you feel like sticking with a venue. Note that the official rules of the challenge involve counting battles--you can certainly configure a custom counter for that, but it's also valid to just divide the total number of enemies fought by 3, unless you're in the Woodland Path or Training Fields (divide by 2 there). Use the submitter code "BLBLITZ" if you're donating data to see how your run stacks up!


Because You Hate Yourself Coli Challenge (Author: SirLeafheart)

Since this challenge is fairly freeform, you can use CODACOT right out of the box. It should make tracking familiars a bit easier on you, and if you want to do the challenge bare-bones, configure one of the custom counters to track battles (or turns or whatever) and just use that+familiar buttons. If you want to collect the full spread of data (thank you!), consider submitting it using the code "BYHATEC" to see how your run compares to other folks'.


Determination Challenge (Author: Sesshin)

For rank 3 and beyond, you might want to use one of the custom counters for Battle Items. For ranks 4 and 5, consider switching to "Fest Data: <element choice>" to get an abbreviated list that only mentions monsters you're interested in--just count familiars in the "chests" column, and remember not to submit that data to the raw dump! ;). Switch back to General Data if you're man (or monster) enough for rank 6.

If you're really serious about 7, by the way, you'll probably want to use the spreadsheet mentioned in the first post on the thread--heck, you might want to use that for lower ranks too, it's a really nice spreadsheet! Submission code is "BTITRFSD" if you're donating data (again, avoid donating data from ranks 4 and 5 if using it as mentioned above).


Xtreme Patience Coli Challenge (Author: LadyTroubadour)

The only thing you specifically need to track here is battles. You can use one of the custom counters for that, or calculate the number of battles from total enemies fought--I'm currently working on an accurate table for that, and will link when it's done. Counting lootless battles during longer challenges is a bit fun, if you want to dedicate another counter, but that's just my opinion! :) Otherwise you're good to go. The submission code is XTREMEC, if you want to compare your raw run data to others.

I hope it's okay to post here - if not let me know and I'll delete! Anyway, I LOVE this tool - I've wanted to be able to track coli drops for a while and having this tool set up next to the coli is so easy! I've submitted a couple of data sets so far and... I love these little achievements, they're so cute :O

I'm not doing any at the moment but this seems like the perfect tool for coli long drop challenges. The only thing it seems to be missing is a tracker for low-level rares like battle stones, potions and coli crates - would you consider adding those in for each venue?

@FirozTaverbi Absolutely, and I'm glad to see someone on the thread! ^.^

You've got a good point about the low-level rares. Originally, I intended to include a few, but there were some...issues (namely data nonspecificity: we don't learn much from an aggregate "all battlestones that aren't Eliminate or Ambush," also nervous to confuse people).

But what about "programmable" counters? Basically they'd be like the stuff at the bottom, but with editable text. So you could count whatever you like. Would that be useful, and if so, how many do you think would be necessary? I figure three's a solid number.

@Oranitha You're right, having a counter for every single stone/potion/chest would be... unwieldy. But having customisable counters could be a useful little tool that people can choose to use or not as they see fit. I think three customisable counters should cover it! That way people could count those three things or specific items they might be hoarding or collecting for a challenge, or even for counting the total number of battles?
