Wow, we won at something! We'll have to come back next year and try this again! (It was the first Winter Games for all of WindSky Weyr's contestants - I never knew!)

Figure skating was, by far, the most popular event of the games with the lesser known curling seeing the lowest number of participants. Thirty-one clans joined us from seven different flights. The biggest surprise is Ice's continued slide in the rankings - clans may have been too busy this year with their own festival preparations and the winter carnival - but clearly home field advantage did not come into play! Thank you for organizing this event, I had a lot of fun participating in it both last year and this year and I will make sure to participate next year if you decide to run it again! Fireclaw and his friends were invited to attend a feast or two since he was the victor, so they decided to extend their stay a few days. The rest of the medals would be awarded the next day when the judges finalized the tallying of the results, so they decided to head back to their suite at the hotel instead of celebrating his win at the Carnival. However, Fireclaw didn't want to go home early just to feel well-rested the next day, he also wanted to see if Unknown had made it back to the hotel so he could apologize for ignoring him all week long. Just as Fireclaw had hoped, Unknown had made it back to the hotel after participating in the Game of Wit of Luck and was seemingly in one piece. Fireclaw, relieved, decided to chat with him right away and with Clarity by his side they managed to talk it out. Fireclaw knew that he had committed a mistake by ignoring him, and while Unknown could be scary or even threaten to turn him into dust with his Arcane spells, he knew that the Wizard would never actually hurt him. They talked about how their week had went for a bit and Unknown [url=http://www1.flightrising.com/forums/forga/2357265/72#post_31680867]wrote a letter[/url] back to the Clan telling them that they would be staying at least three more days. The next day they were early at the Game's grounds and the five of them were eagerly awaiting the results, or rather, Fireclaw, Clarity and Glacynea was, while Unknown would have preferred to stay in the hotel together with Gloomwillow. However, Unknown had decided to try to be a good friend and be at Fireclaw's side, despite his dislike of being in big crowds of people. The pressure of being in a crowd was slightly diminished thanks to the fact that they were invited to stay at the Victors Area to follow the awards ceremony. The biggest surprise is Ice's continued slide in the rankings - clans may have been too busy this year with their own festival preparations and the winter carnival - but clearly home field advantage did not come into play! Even Unknown decides to go ahead and pat Fireclaw on the back, a gesture of affection he's not known for showing. The announcers continue to talk but Fireclaw is already celebrating. This is the happiest day of his life and being able to celebrate it with his friends makes it all the better. They would later proceed to prolong their stay for three more days before heading home, since the victors were invited to all kind of events by Ice Flight's socialites. As an aside, it seems incredibly fitting that RNG chose the dragon that won two golds and a bronze as the overall gold medalist. :D Congrats to Fireclaw!

Loved all the responses! Just wanted to say that it was going to be a little bit longer before prizes go out (I needed a break + have some IRL stuff coming up this weekend).
